Guestbook comments from the manager

we had a great experience at this cabin. very well maintained and the owners are very friendly. it is secluded in the woods, a very large property so u do not hear the nieghbors around u. we brought our dog with us and he had a great time running around and the yard is so big he could be off leash and we did not have to worry about anything. i would recommend this cabin to anyone with a family or a couple looking for a nice place to rent. all the beds are in one spot in a loft so would not recommend to rent if u are looking for seperate bedrooms in the cabin. only 30 min away from whistler and other great places around the whistler area. i would rent this cabin again!

Just as described - cozy, secluded, spacious loft style cabin!

  • 4 of 5

This cabin is pretty much as described in the listing. It's situated up a steep, narrow, gravel/dirt road away from the main road and has partial views of the lake and mountains. It has tons of big windows to take in the scenery, an attached gazebo, and a loft style bedroom. If you're looking for a 5 star hotel type accommodation, then this isn't for you, but if you are looking for a peaceful quiet place that is spacious and rustic, then this is the perfect spot. The cabin is stocked with everything you'd need to cook meals in house so plan on bringing groceries. It has a TV and DVD player but no cable or internet so plan accordingly (there's a library of DVDs, but bring your own if you want to watch something specific). The floors are simple plywood and the counter tops are simple plywood as well, but the place is spacious, well appointed, clean and great for a long weekend stay. The deck out front has some patio chairs for relaxing and enjoying the view. There are mosquitos so bring some bug spray or wear long sleeves. The owner is really responsive and helpful. One thing to note is that you are expected to remove your own trash upon leaving. You can take it with you and dump it at the Pemberton Visitor's center. Currently the gazebo is being treated for mice with mice pellets so be careful with pets out there. Also, there are 2 mini fridges in the main cabin and a large, regular sized fridge in the gazebo. Keep in mind that you're in the woods and there are bugs, but nothing major and outside of normal expectations when you're secluded and in the wilderness. It's a fantastic place to situate yourself to explore Lake Lillooet and the surrounding area. The Joffres Lake hike is a must, but go very early as it gets quite crowded! This place is the perfect off the beaten path, cozy cabin experience to rest, relax, and enjoy the great outdoors!

Just the right amount of rustic

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful log cabin with lots of room to enjoy both outside and inside. Rustic in that the floors are basic (as they allow pets) and the sleeping area is open concept, but really well equipped and a beautiful, comfortable space. We loved the view and the sound of the rushing creek close by. With it so hot while we were there, we appreciated the gorgeous decks for lounging in the sun, but could envision how nice it would be in the winter with the wood stove going. It's a rugged, steep driveway but there is parking down below if you're not sure about your vehicle making it up. And the hosts were wonderful to deal with and in explaining all of these details ahead of time. We'll be back!

Beautiful cabin retreat

  • 5 of 5

Your cabin is absolutely beautiful, exactly what we had hoped for to end our trip to Canada and after 12 days camping with 2 small children! The space inside is so chilled and calm and the location is idyllic, we only wish we could have stayed an extra couple of days! Your cabin had everything we needed and more than enough space for us to stay in. Thank you for enabling us to finish our trip in such a memorable way :)

Relaxing comfortable cabin and get away.

  • 5 of 5

Great mountain retreat. Cabin is well stocked and laid out. Lovely to shower with creek water and sleep with the sounds of the creek. The cabin has screens on most windows so you can enjoy the mountain air without bugs. I highly recommend. Just waiting for deposit back.

Lovely log cabin on Duffey Lake Road.

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at this cabin and would definitely stay again.

The property has a partial view of Lillooet Lake and the beautiful peaks behind. It is above the highway, so there is some noise from that, although the lovely water sounds from Joffre Creek make it less noticeable. There are a few piles of debris around the property which detract from the general beauty of the property. We think this could be easily remedied if the owner took the time to collect it all and made a run to the dump. There is another smaller cabin on the property at the top of and to the right side of the driveway. People staying there have their own parking. (That cabin is far enough away to not be an issue with this cabin.)

This cabin has a great set up inside; nice wood fireplace, large kitchen area, lovely ambiance in the living room and loft areas with big windows showcasing the outside forest and views.

Minor issues:

There were a few minor issues, and I agree with a previous review that a notebook with general instructions would be great.

The windows do all open, but they must be unlocked on both sides first, and then the hand crank is used to open them (some of the hand cranks in the loft were broken, so we were unable to open those windows).

The plumbing under the kitchen sink leaks. There was a bowl under there, but watch it and empty it since it fills up fairly quickly.

The handle on the door that leads from the kitchen to the screened deck was installed upside down, so once you figure that out, the door will open easily without force.

The water flow from the bathroom sink faucet is low when the handle is turned to either of the far sides because the handle doesn't have room to fully extend upwards since the mirror with shelf above it was mounted too low.

There are plenty of wine glasses! (a previous review said there weren't any). And if you think you'll be using a large pot, then bring a large lid along (10 inches wide or larger).

We purchased self lighting briquets for the BBQ; these are much easier and safer to use than regular briquets with lighter fluid.

The only other thing I can recommend is to bring mosquito repellent! We weren't expecting any mosquitoes at the end of March, but they were especially vicious the night before a major rain storm came through! Thankfully the cabin has screens!

In spite of the minor issues, I would definitely recommend staying here since the positive far outweighs the above minor issues.
