Pure Paradise!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I decided to vacation in the Exumas this year and it was the best decision we could have made! This was our first time visiting these islands - It will definitely not be our last.

A big reason we enjoyed it so much was because we stayed at Danielle's beautiful home - That probably has the nicest ocean views I've ever seen in my life. The beach is super private and secluded and sitting on the deck in the evening drinking a few cocktails or beers was very peaceful and relaxing. (The pictures really do not do it show just how wonderful this place is).

It was a also a great central spot in terms of being able to head north or south to the different beaches, locations, and sights on the island. Everything felt like it was within a 30-40 minute drive. Even heading down to little Exuma to see the Tropic of Cancer beach and surrounding area seemed very quick, even though it looked far on the GPS map.

There are a lot of little local places to eat near Danielle's and everything is either right on the beach, or has a close beach view, and this house was smack dab in the middle of it all. Super close to the airport, Georgetown, the Fish Fry (you have to try Wonderation - amazing food!), and some of the greatest beaches in the Caribbean.

We even hired a local masseuse to come to the house and give us Swedish massages on the back porch. There is nothing like getting a massage and hearing the sound of the waves as the ocean breeze gently brushes pat you. Pure heaven!

So a HUGE thanks to Danielle for allowing us to stay at her house and really making this one of the most memorable trips we have ever taken. We will be back soon!!!

P.S. Danielle made a joke about only having 5 star reviews makes the reviews seem fake, and I really tried hard to think of a reason to give her 4, but I couldn't do it. I wish I could give her 10 stars. Thanks again, Danielle!

HARDEST PLACE WE'VE EVER HAD TO LEAVE.......

  • 5 of 5

Words don't describe this place.... Why aren't there many reviews?? We don't want too many people to know about this place and book it out forever. Be prepared to go into depression when you have to leave... You will dream about ti until you return.. The owner - Danielle - Is amazing. Take a nice gift to her (my suggestion). Give her a hug and a kiss from Bob and Hellen www.surfandskate.com

Love and miss you Dano............

Great Escape

  • 5 of 5

If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life in a beautiful tropical setting, then the Inti would be a great choice. A hire car is a must throughout your stay.We were a family of 4, two adults and two kids ( aged 13 and 17 ) so the villa with its truly two separate en-suite bedrooms was excellent. The villa has plenty of living space so everyone can do their own thing. The beach in front of the villa is sensational and generally very quiet. We made breakfast at the villa but took other meals at various places around Exuma. The Inti does have a fully equipped kitchen, so dining in is easy.We were there over Easter which included 3 public holidays, Friday, Easter Sunday and Monday. Basically this was a 4 day weekend. On Exuma shops and restaurants/bars all close for these holidays. Not a problem as long as you plan in advance. Smitty's near Georgetown was a very good shop with the a separate liquor store next door.Hotels were open so we went to a number of them for lunches & dinners. You could also use their beach/ water sport facilities. This was very good news for our teenage kids. The best in terms of value and service was the Splash Bar at Hideaway Hotel.-Big D's was our favourite place for dinner. Also Latitudes if you want high quality cuisine. We did take a late lunch at Santana's which was excellent and topped off by 4 sharks coming very close to shore to feed off bits of restaurant fish waste. Stocking Island was a great half day, boat taxi from Georgetown, a 10 minute journey each way. Great chance to bathe with Large Stingrays coming very close to shore to feed at lunchtime. We went to dinner at Catch Fire on a Saturday evening, it was expensive, poor quality and over 2 hours for service. We went to see the Swimming Pigs, one of the main reasons for coming to Exuma. At $800 USD for the 4 of us, it was frankly a bit of a rip off.Part of the same trip we went to see the Iguana's this was good. Danielle was very attentive and made us feel very welcome guests. For visitors travelling to Exuma, from Europe, via Atlanta, your return journey bags have to be collected in Atlanta and rechecked for your European destination. We were not alerted to this by the Checkin at Exuma, in fact we were assured that our bags would go, uninterupted all the way to Prague. It was only thanks to our eagle eyed son that he spotted them on the carousel in Atlanta, otherwise they would have been lost!!

Island Peace

  • 5 of 5

If you are seeking the peace and quiet that islands can offer and like your independence, this place is for you. This is a clean and comfortable island home. If you stay here, a rental car is a must. The relatively central location allows you to easily go south through George Town to Little Exuma for the Tropic of Cancer beach and Santana's restaurant. (Go to the bakery next to Santana's- best bread ever!. Also, just south of town stop and buy some tomatoes from the roadside produce lady- tasty!) You can also easily go north to Big D's (conch salad), the Lighthouse Cafe and Co Co Plum beach. In the evenings, the sand flies can be bothersome so prepare for them, The locals use baby oil and coconut oil to keep them off. You might want to do some research before you go and get some other type of protection. (Off and DEET do not work well.) The bottom line is that this is a nice, romantic place that is for those of us that go to the islands to get away from people rather than become part of the resort crowd. Finally, I would be remiss if I did not mention that Danielle went the extra mile to make sure all was good.

Exuma finally!!!

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from Exuma, the one Caribbean island that has alluded me for so many years. There is no more beautiful water any place on this earth. We stayed at the intl villa for the week. This is a great beach house with plenty of room in which to enjoy an essentially private beach with many reefs just feet from the beach. We saw five other people the entire week. Everywhere you look there is a beach more beautiful than the last. The insect population is formidable. So take plenty of insect repellent...plenty. The villa has every accessory for cooking in. The bedrooms are air conditioned. However the first floor is not. A tropical land/sea breeze blows much of the time. The many French doors can be opened to cool things down. However the mosquitoes are always glad to feast on you whenever given a chance. The slow season was in full swing. Many services were simply closed during our visit. A car is an absolute necessity. Rent at the airport. It will save you taxi fees which are excessive. There are only three restaurants with indoor a/c dining on the island. Two of them were closed. The remainder of the restaurants are open air and you are open season for biting insects. I am a purist and consequently resisted the "must do things" that most tourist seek, swimming pigs, iguanas, and sharks. We instead learned how to hand fish, explored the south side of Grand Exuma all by boat. We enjoyed the less traveled areas of the exumas, which for me made the trip all the more enjoyable. Just go to the Georgetown Dock and find Elvis who runs the water taxi service over to stocking island. He and his colleague " Delly, can set you up for an alternative Exuma experience. The most important thing is to visit this beautiful island with someone who you know for certain loves you. The combined beauty of nature and human emotion provides a synergy without parallel. When the human side fails the experience is inexplicably empty.

Exuma Experience was great!!!

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from a great stay in the Exuma's. My wife and I were joined by my sister and brother in law for a RELAXING week in Great Exuma. This was our first trip to the Exuma's and we were surprised at how beautiful the waters and this island are. We stayed at the Inti Villa and found it to be comfortable and pracitical for a laid back vacation. It was spacious and secluded and was the perfect hidden get away for a peaceful and quiet vacation. We ate at several of the local restaurants and would highly recommend Santana's Beach Bar in Little Exuma as well as Chat & Chill and Big D's to mention a few other options on Great Exuma. For a great time on your own schedule we would recommend Minn's watersports for boat rentals and local excursions. One day we booked an excursion with 4 C's and had a great time touring the many other cays in the Euma chain of islands. We found the owners to be responsive and helpful in providing information on the best places to shop, eat, and the many things to see in the Exuma's. We would recommend this vacation spot and are hopeul we will have the opportunity to visit this beautiful place in the future. JDW
