Originally from Germany, my husband Markus and I (Hilde) have been living in the San Francisco and New York since 2004 with our two 6 and 9 year old children. We are easy going, down to earth and humorous people who are into sports, like to spend time outdoors and love pets.
Hilde Kraemling purchased this chalet in 2012
In 2012 we fulfilled a longtime dream and bought and remodeled a beautiful 4br, 2400sf house in Tahoe Dollar Point which allows us to spend time with friends and family while having fun at the lake. Though Lake Tahoe is mostly known for it's world class skiing and the Olympic ski resort in Squaw Valley (yes, we love that too!), personally, we almost enjoy the house even more during the summer since there are so many things to see and do besides skiing.
Things to do in Tahoe :
Tree Top Adventure Park (zip line and ropes obstacle courses), fly fishing, crawdad fishing, biking, hiking, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, boating, fishing, golfing, river rafting, horseback riding, swimming, mini golf, tennis
Snowboarding, Skiing, Cross Country Skiing, Ice Skating
Our house is very cozy yet it has a clean and fresh feel to it, we like that it is not the typical dark brown 'rustic' cabin you can find so often in Tahoe.
The extremely quiet street and large property are ideal for kids to play outside, build snowmen or ride their bikes. Watch your kids play while you relax on the deck or read a book in the tree hammock!

This home was perfect for our yearly family gathering! It is even more beautiful in person. It comfortably slept five adults & two children. Each of the four bedrooms were spacious and decorated beautifully. The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of storage space in each room to properly unpack. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking and baking. This was our first trip that did not require a trip to the store for some random cooking utensil. As a Nespresso owner, I can not tell you how happy I was to find they even had a Nespresso machine with several strengths of coffee pods. We really enjoyed the wrap around kitchen counter during meal times. The kids loved the playroom. It was had plenty of games, movies, and seating. My favorite space was the living room with the fire pit seating area. This seating feature was really unique and simply perfect for sitting next to the fire with a glass of wine. The home is less than five minutes away from the grocery store and a short drive to Alpine Meadows. Our family was very pleased with the location and the quality of the home amenities. We hope to return next year!
Original guest review can be seen on airbnb:
We rented the house for 3 days for our entire family, grown up children and 2 grandchildren. My grandkids love the fire pit in the living room! Kitchen was well layout with all amenities one would need and split bedroom plans which worked out great for us with small kids and older generation. The beds were comfortable, clean with extra blanket, pillows just in case but we did not need.
The family room on the 1st level was fantastic for watching movies late at night without bothering anyone who was asleep. We had a little problem with the thermostat as it became a bit warm in there and it was on the lowest setting. Otherwise everything was great! Minutes to shop, beach, boat rides etc. Highly would recommend it!! Louise
We loved everything about this house!!!!! The decor was beautiful, it was extremely clean, had all the necessities, it was perfect! I also loved the layout because we had kids sleeping on the main level, we could go downstairs to watch TV when they were sleeping and not disturb them! This house is super close to Tahoe City and had everything we needed to enjoy a weekend in the snow!
Thank you, Hilde, for a tremendous week in your Dollar Point home! My family of 6, including four young boys, enjoyed every minute of it. Spacious, comfortable, clean, and beautiful. Couldn't ask for more.
Very comfortable, well equipped home. Well stocked with games & books. Ideal for a multi generational family. We will definitely book this accommodation again.
My teenage daughters, husband and I stayed for one week and thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful vacation home. Conveniently located just two miles from Tahoe City, we were able to go to the supermarket, eat out and rent bikes easily. The facilities at Dollar Point - pool, beach, tennis court, games - were outstanding. Pool and tennis are walking distance; beach was a short drive. The house is stunningly decorated with contemporary furnishings. It was such a treat to cook in a modern kitchen with beautiful dishes and to have plush towels and deluxe bedding - a step up from most rental houses. We enjoyed breakfast on the deck beneath the pine trees and fired up the barbecue for lunch and dinner. We would certainly recommend this property for rental and would consider renting it again during a future visit to the North Shore of Lake Tahoe.
This house was perfect! We had a work retreat with 7 adults, the bedrooms were very nice and the living area with the kitchen and dining area was beautiful and perfect for entertaining, the downstairs area was great for games and movies. The location was perfect! Thanks for a great place!
