Excellent.

Third family stay and each time better than the last (although hard to believe it could get any better!). Plenty of space, well cared for. Water refreshing. Close to everything, yet totally secluded. Coming back in September!

The property was very well maintained and provided a spacious environment for my company and I to prepare for our performances at Colby College. Easy communication with the host as well.

Great Winter Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We had a perfect New Years weekend, complete with 18 inches of fluffy snow! Lots to do in the area, including snow tubing and ice skating in nearby South China, ME! Our family picked this location because it was central to all of our extended family that lives in Maine (We are from CT). We were able to gather with several brothers and sisters and their families throughout the weekend..... and the basement was perfect for a large group of kids! Plenty of room and places to sleep. The house had everything we needed. Thanks for giving us a place to make lots of fun memories. The kids and adults had a blast!

Whispering breezes, sunshine and the definition ofrelaxation

  • 5 of 5

I had a group of 7 people coming over from Liverpool England. With my wife and mom we totaled 10. We had family that lives on Togus pond and knew the fishing to be great and the location to be central to the state of Maine. We went sight seeing every day from York to Camden/ Rockland Maine and from Arcadia to Mt. Washington. Our visitors came away with a fantastic impression of the state of Miane.

The lake house had plenty of sleeping accomodations, double living rooms, a great kitchen, porch, deck and fire pit. The location was the very definition of peacefulness and the stars at night were stunning to our city dwelling visitors. The Bumpy road location is close yet remote to the town of Augusta which provides shopping, eating out, pubs etc. If you are looking for a getaway in the true sense, then consider Bumpy Rd. where no one will be able to find unless you want them to. I hated to come back to work and you will to.

Great Experience.

  • 4 of 5

The house is great. Owner was very responsive. We would recommend this property to friends. The owner has been very generous by providing amenities such as newer appliances (dishwasher and fridge), cable tv (2), three double or queen-size beds, kayaks and a canoe, gas grill with gas, bath towels and kitchen wares. Downstairs is like a separate apartment with one of the double beds and several singles, its own bathroom and outside entrance. Love the screened in deck overlooking the lake. We were there in late August and the lake was surprisingly quiet. No power boats during the week. The pond has a rocky shoreline but the dock provides good water access. Fishing was spotty, bass and pickerel (an exciting catch), but I guess that's to be expected late in the season. Location is close (short drives) to Augusta, a new grocery store and a bowling alley. Not much to do in Augusta and we spent more time in Waterville, which is an easy drive. Waterville has a nice downtown and Colby University has a spectacular art museum. We drove an hour to Belfast on the coast and enjoyed their harbor walk, downtown and working shipyard. A very enjoyable week.
