Why Cindie chose Mount Rainier

Packwood is surrounded by some great recreational areas. We love to go up to the Grove of the Patriarchs to see the old growth cedars. Our family loves seeing the herds of elk that come into town and onto our property. We love the incredible mountain views and the fresh air that the forests provide.

What makes this house unique

Close to skiing, hiking, mushrooming, wildlife viewing, rafting, biking, and the list goes on.

Guestbook comments from the manager

We had a great stay! Hiked Shriners Peak - grueling but great hike. 2 or 3 times you think you're at the top & then there's another peak :) Beautiful cabin - great movie selection. Thanks!

Will definitely be back!

This house is convently located to all the major attractions in the area and also for just a walk to town. Very clean and stocked with all your basic needs. It's my new favorite place to stay while in Packwood.

the place was perfect

  • 5 of 5

although the trip to Packwood and the flea market was suppose to be a trip for my 84 year old father, my mom got sick and they could not go. We went without them since it was paid for. The cabin was very comfortable for the six of us. Great family get away. Thank You Cindie for all your help setting it up!

The cabin was very clean and close to town.

It was a beautiful cabin! Very cozy too!

Some friends and I spent the weekend at Elk Ridge for a little relaxing get away. We felt right at home. We went on a walk one morning and got to spy on a pack of 30 or so ELK!! We later watched them from the deck of the cabin graze in the field below. Overall, it was exactly what we wanted and more. We will definitely be back.

BEAUTIFUL views and lovely cabin.

  • 4 of 5

The Elk Ridge cabin is a minor work of art -- some creative builder finished all the woodwork with locally milled timber and created many sculptural features to enhance it. The two-story great room has grand views of the little town and the river valley, the beds and furniture are comfortable and all the necessary kitchen utensils are provided. I would suggest planning to cook all your meals here, as the opportunities for dining out in Packwood are pretty limited.

Charming house, good base for sightseeing

  • 5 of 5

My family stayed here in July, 2015, and it was a wonderful experience. We loved the house and it served well as a base to see Mt Rainier, Mt St Helens, Mt Adams and several waterfalls & scenic drives nearby. After seeing all these places, it was nice to come back to the house, to relax and recharge. I have nothing but positive things to say about the property and would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a wonderful vacation in the Washington Cascades.

Elk Ridge

  • 5 of 5

When we arrived at Elk Ridge there were seven elk grazing in the field below! The house is as beautiful as shown in the photos, tastefully furnished and full of light and an open feeling with a big balcony and terrific views of the mountains. My family and I used this as our headquarters for visiting Mt Rainier and Mt St Helen's. We would definitely come back to this house again.
