Very nice place for a good price
Very nice place to stay. It’s away from the main area of resorts in a more residential area. Everything was well maintained and looks like the pictures except for the porch chairs, as others pointed out. The outdoor porch has a screen around it which made eating outside pleasant. The beach is less than a 5 minute walk away.
This was a great getaway for two. The place was in a great neighborhood with close proximity to the beach, clean, and spacious. Would highly recommend!
Great stay at the Hummingbird Lane bungalow!
This property is great mainly because of the affordability and quick responses from the owner but I've listed some disclaimers below. We had a wonderful week-long stay at the bungalow! The house is pretty true to the pictures except the patio furniture has been changed and was not near as nice as pictured. Instead it was a cheap table with bar height chairs that were too awkwardly tall for the table. We still were able to sit outside and eat meals or drink a glass of wine on the screened in porch but it would've been nice to have a table with chairs that were the appropriate height. The property is a little older and could use some TLC so it's not for the resort type traveler. However, this property is perfect for the price and a very affordable option with a quick walk to the beach! The AC in the bedroom was a major bonus and worked wonderfully! We felt very safe at the house and the security system added extra peace of mind. The property is located in the Leeward Estates area with a security guard at the entrance. We had some issues upon arrival with the propane gas being out and no trash bags being available but James was quick to respond and they had it replaced the next day. We didn't have issues with the ants as described in some of the other reviews but we were sure to never leave ANY food out and put most things in the refrigerator. The kitchen is stocked enough to cook in but didn't have any condiments, foil, etc. or tools for grilling so we had to get a bit creative. The appliances are also a little dated. We never could get the blender to work but we were able to use the small food processor. The best part of this house is the proximity to the beach and the provided chairs, umbrella, and cooler. You can easily walk to the beach or you can drive down there (if you're feeling lazy and have all your beach equipment) and park along the road. The beach was very quiet and we rarely saw more than 10 people on the beach. Renting a car is a must! We explored almost every inch of the island and have to say that this part of Grace Bay Beach is much nicer than the resort beaches. The resorts are crowded and very commercial so it was nice to have a quiet spot to unwind with an almost private beach. You can easily access the Blue Haven resort and they have a small grocery/convenience store if you need to pick something up but don't want to drive back to IGA or Graceway Gourmet. We would definitely recommend this house and would stay here again!
Very nice house close to beautiful beach, just as expected
The house looks exactly like in the pictures. The deck is nice feature and the stuff the house provides to go to the beach are wonderful.
I also loved that owner provided pack & play crib that I used to sleep my 8 months old son, the sofa bed was also a nice feature.
The only drawbacks are that the kitchen drawers are really old and almost broken, not grill pliers provided even the house has a gas grill (maybe I was not able to find them), the promised $10 dollars credit for cell phone use was not provided, balance was $0. The worst part that is probably not the house issue are the cockroaches that are found pretty often in the deck and some in the kitchen, but that and ants are always an issue on tropical destinations.
Overall my family and I enjoyed staying at the house and felt almost like as home. I wish we could have stayed longer.
Hummingbird Guest House - Turks and Caicos Island
Well, where to begin, this was our first trip the Turks and Caicos Island and I have to say, we truly enjoyed our time on the island.
The people, the local food, the weather were just outstanding but the beautiful beaches, These were Amazing !!The beach was just a short walk or you could drive your car around the corner from the Guest House.
As for our stay at the Hummingbird Guest House, it was as advertised. It was clean and nicely located to the beach and the Grace Bay area for shopping and local restuarants along with the local food market. We did experienced a few diffulities shortly after moving in but the owners, Mary and James were very responsive to our needs and went out of their way to ensure our stay was pleasant. All in All, we truly enjoyed our stay and we would recommend staying at the Guest House.
Also, We would recommend renting a car in order to explore other parts of the island. However, be careful driving on the Left side of the road!!
BTW, You should also try the Mango Reef restuarant in Turtle Cove, It was GREAT!!!
Our trip to TCI was just outstanding.

Wonderful, private location
Summary: Stayed for 4 nights in Mid-January. Property is represented very accurately. The house is clean, well equipped, and in a great location. A/C in the master, but fans and a nice breeze made the whole house reasonable.
Details: Landed at PLS airport and rented a car (you will need a car to get around) for 30 bucks a day for a small compact. Be advised that the roads are all poorly marked and in some cases - VERY rough with speed bumps not really well marked - drive slow and on the left side. A bit tough to find Hummingbird (through main gate, first left, first right, first left, first left) but no problems. Stopped by the local IGA to stock up on water and snacks. Did the Thursday night fish fry (recommend) and ate out at Groupers (recommend) and Danny Buoys (so so). Walk to beach was 5 min and WOW. You pop out on the end of Grace Bay in what can only be described as "your own beach" with powdery sand, blue cotton candy water, and not really many people. Bring floats and just hang!
Overall - 4 stars - this place is as represented - one bedroom house close to the beach. GREAT LOCATION!! Clean and well equipped. Couch showing some age, minor construction next door first day was a bit noisy, there are a lot of workers hanging around the numerous construction sites nearby that made us feel a bit uncomfortable, but security was good in the neighborhood. Had a few mechanical problems, but owner was immediately responsive and fixed right away. Dryer was not working, but we didn't find out until the day we were leaving. I recommend this property and the owner.
Bright 1-bed bungalow located 250 meters from Pelican Beach. There are 2 public beach access points within a 5-10 minute stroll from your front door. Property is located 1 mile from Provo Golf Club an 18 hole championship golf course with tennis facilities. Golf clubs and tennis racquets can be hired from the pro shop. Also within 1 mile of Leeward Marina, pickup point for day cruises and glow worm tours.
