But whether it is the aroma of tropical flowers, the vivid jungle birds and butterflies that seem to float in the air before you, watching the migrating hump-back whales and dolphins, relaxing in the pool, strolling on the beach, surfing, kayaking, snorkeling, or shopping till you drop in the quaint village of Sayulita while enjoying every moment of the rich Mexican culture, just know that the most mesmerizing sunset awaits your return.

As with many prior reviews, this property doesn't disappoint with regards to the wow factor and the overall feeling of chill with being there. The house is extremely well laid out and very efficient in terms of plenty of space to gather together or just have one's own space to chill. The extraordinary view is always there along with that wonderful sound of the surf down below.
Jose, the maintenance guy met us at the Subway late on our arrival and guided us through town and up to the house, which was an interesting experience in itself. He was a very friendly and helpful staff person who actually lives in the lower level with his dog Cookie. For those not comfortable in new environments, his presence and that of his wonderful pup, provide a nice layer of security to a home that always felt safe and secure.
The golf cart provided was both a necessity and a lot of fun. As others have noted, it may not be for everyone as the road to the house is unique to those who live in the states and a bit of an adventure. Having said that, the golf cart proved extremely efficient and helpful and became part of our daily experience heading to the beach or for a meal in town.
We loved the town for its fun activities, interesting selection of restaurants and non-stop energy. There are some basic stores for supplies there but would definitely recommend a stop at Mega on the way to town to stock up on basic supplies and necessities.
As to the fine tuning part, let me start with the listing on HomeAway. It is noted that there are two umbrellas, golf clubs, boogie board, cell phone and 2 washer/dryer available for use. None of the above were available and when I asked the owner, he had no idea about them.
For a wonderful home with amazing views and open spaces, there is not one single lounge chair available to recline, catch some sun and read a book on. There are six outdoor dining chairs around but sometimes they just don't do it. For those looking to sit and enjoy a wonderful glass of wine while breathing in the amazing view, you will have to do it with old, cracking plastic wine glasses. The bath terry is in need of replacement and some of it is approaching rough, cardboard status. The pendant lights over the bar have a broken switch and don't work. The two dimmer switches for the chandelier and palapa lights don't dim unfortunately.
None of that negated a great experience but with some attention to detail, this place would really be great.
I would not return to this property. It was very high on the hill and the street was like going on an Indiana Jones ride to get up to the house, not fun at all. The house itself is totally open, and there are not 4 bedroom as described, there are 3 bedrooms and another completely open room with a bed, but no walls! We were told that this bed was reserved for lovemaking only! Gross! We were told we would have a golf cart for our use during our stay, but we were never given a golf cart and keys and we had to take taxis everyday into town & back which quickly added up. The water pressure is very poor, and the upstairs bedroom on the right shower head squirted every way except where you needed it! The pool is very tiny and freezing cold, so no one went swimming. There was no TV or even a radio, and the kitchen & living area are completely open so there were rat droppings on the kitchen tablecloth and insects flying every where. The only reason I give the review more than one star is that the groundskeeper Jose was very nice and friendly and his dog Cookie is a sweat heart.
A group of 8 of us stayed at the Casa Paz for one week in January. The house was incredible -- spacious, fresh, clean, and scenic. All of the rooms were a nice comfortable size, and we loved the main palapa area upstairs that had the kitchen, dining/living area, and infinity pool. The view from the main palapa area is an amazing panorama overlooking the entire bay. It was a great house to do our own cooking at (although the restaurants in town are also abundant and delicious), and a lovely maid visited the house every second day to help with keeping the house clean and tidy.
The house is at the top of the hill which is quite steep, so it is a bit of a workout if walking up from town on foot. With the trail and stairs next to the house though it only takes about 10 minutes to get down to the beach. Taxi rides are available from town for only about 60 pesos, so the hill and distance from town was never an issue for us.
The owners were very quick to respond on any messages that I sent, and there is also an on-site caretaker that was living next door and helped us whenever we needed anything.
We loved our stay and would visit again.
Casa Paz is an amazing house - with a view second to none of Sayulita bay and the beach! The house is more than well equipped - but all you really need is the main room/pool/kitchen which all overlook the beautiful Santiago Bay with amazing sunsets and views. The hosts were extremely responsive during our visit and the Jose (and his dog Cooky) proved to be a great asset when we had questions/needed help or assistance. We were two families of 9 total - with kids 6, 10, 14, 17, and 19 years old - and everyone loved or time at Casa Paz. Highly recommend this property and the renters/hosts.
Stay was beautifull, House good equipt.
The up / Downhill drive is a hugh adventure!!! not to recoment for everyone.
Amazing (wait for it) View! Location was great, made easy by golf carts. No fear of break ins as the place is secure with an added "security guard" living next door.
