It's all about Privacy and Beauty! No neighbors, above, below and or beside you. If tropical privacy, peaceful quiet, romance, and/or spiritual rejuvenation is what you are looking for Casa Carricitos can be your personal paradise. Let's face it, as charming as Sayulita is, it can be loud. At Casa Carricitos you can escape from the discos, and roosters, and come home to the sound of the ocean and Nature. Our home is a romantic hand-crafted casa, located on 2.5 acres with panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean. From anywhere on the property you can watch spectacular sunsets 365 days a year. We can confidently say that this house has the most incredible views on this portion of the coastline. Whales and dolphins are frequently seen and heard from both houses.
Nature surrounds you with swaying palms, tropical birds, and butterflys. The sweeping views take in Monkey Mountain, the palapas of Haramara Yoga Retreat Center, Punta Mita (a distant peninsula) and the sand and waves of Carricitos Beach below.
We lovingly call it 'stare therapy' as in: sit and just stare. The landscape appears to be constantly changing; the waves, the sounds, the light, the winds in the palms.....or a five minute walk thru the jungle will take you to your own secluded beach.
Carricitos Beach is a half mile from the Plaza in Sayulita and is located in an ecological preserve that is part of the largest tropical forest in Mexico. The only sounds you hear from the property are the sounds of Nature and waves upon the shore. The beach below the house is secluded enough to allow European style sunbathing, with descretion.
This property is a bird watchers mecca, with over 70 species seen in the surrounding jungle. If surfing is your thing, you can check the swell size, direction and wind from Sayulita to Punta Mita from the deck.
Yet surprisingly, you're just minutes by car from the quaint village of Sayulita, Mexico. A dirt road leads you through beautiful jungle past Los Muertos Beach and up the hill to Casa Carricitos.
MAIN HOUSE: As you pull up the driveway the view is hidden by the house but as you step through the front door a sweeping view of the ocean, mountains, jungle and beaches greet your eyes. The main house has been decorated with an Asian flare, Balinese ikats, Thai silks, Buddhas, art, artifacts and more.
It is serene, temple-like and comfortable. A wrap around deck has a built in Balinese style lounging bed, great for watching sunsets and stars at night. The detached Master Bedroom has a kingsize bed and a spectacular bathroom, the building is located just off the deck. The interior bedroom has a king size bed, mosquitos nets and screened windows and polished concrete style bathroom
Both bedrooms offer total privacy from each other and both have air conditioning. The detached bedroom is decorated with Tibetan and Burmese art and artifacts, and is literally breathtaking in its beauty, guests have said it is better than the Four Seasons! The living room has been designed for comfort and some couples choose to sleep there.
GUEST HOUSE: With its own private path and entry Casita Ganesha (the guest house) is its own little world. You enter into a round living and kitchen area with a palapa style roof. The bedroom and bath lie beyond. This casita with its saltillo tiles and thatched roof has Asian influence as well and you are greeted by Ganesh, the elephant who removes obstacles. You also have your own private garden terrace to lounge around or grill some fresh fish.
From the king size bed you gaze out over the tree tops and ocean and feel like you are living in the trees. There are wonderful ocean views and parrots and pelicans flying by at eye level. It is magical and refreshing. There is a tent style mosquito net around the bed and Bifold windows in the bedroom for your comfort and ease.

We traveled the world looking for the 'perfect tropical paradise' and we never found anything as beautiful as Carricitos in Sayulita. The property has the best view we have seen anywhere and we have been from Byron Bay Australia to India, Bali, Thailand..... When you walk through the doors of the house you can not help but gasp in amazement! The sunsets, whales, dolphins birds are fantastic.
As we built and remodeled the place we opted for a serene temple-like style, complete with Asian artifacts and collectors pieces. We have made a home out of a house that renews the spirit and relaxes the soul. We are so happy to read our guest book and at times it even makes us cry! Our guests get it! They become entranced by the beauty and find they do not want to even go to town. We hope you can join the numerous people who have had the chance to renew and relax at Casa Carricitos!
Cheers! Adele and Michael
We have never had an unhappy guest. if you enjoy beauty, privacy and Nature and you will love Casa Carricitos!
Privacy, Privacy, Privacy. Located on top of a hill the house has spectacular 360 views. The ocean views are incredible!
The Asian decor and setting weave a magical spell that encourages deep relaxation and renewal. After a dozen years we are still amazed by our own experience of being enchanted.
We are a four minute drive to town, a fifteen minute walk to the plaza and just far enough away from Sayulita to have peace and quiet. Morning walks thru the jungle are a treat and the beach is a five minute walk away. Sunsets and star gazing are our favorite time. Dining on the terraces has made us declare our place the the best restaurant in the area!
This is a beautiful place! Even on the last day we are still amazed with the views. Enjoy!
It doesn't seem possible though this place is even better than the photos. We stayed for a week and wish it has been longer. The location is very secluded and peaceful. The property is very clean and well-maintained. We would recommend renting a car if you like to get into town frequently for meals. If you prefer to cook and remain alone everything you could possibly need is onsite and don't feel a rental car would be needed. I could not imagine staying anywhere else!!! We hope to come back very soon!!!
Wow. I don't even know where to start. The property is gorgeous. We spent our honeymoon there. Overlooking the jungle and the beach. We went down to the beach, and when they say "secluded" they mean it. We were literally the only ones down there. It's a short walk to town, and an even shorter taxi ride. I'd recommend walking. So beautiful. The rooms are clean and extremely comfortable. Can't beat the view of the beach, jungle and ocean while having a shower.
We got the honor of meeting Micheal, the owner. He is an awesome person. We also met with the property manager(s). I must say, the sense of community on the estate is amazing. Any little issue or questions we had were taken care of immediately and politely.
I'd love to go in to detail about what makes Sayulita such a great choice... but that's for you to find out. Get out there. It's worth the trip. We intend to return next year and rent both the casa and the casita.
From this property apparently you can easily get to the Marieta Islands, an ecological Preserve, or have a guide take you up Monkey Mountain, visible from the terrace. There are many beaches with superb surfing and other nearby areas great for divers. We did none of these things. We couldn't extract ourselves from the beauty and comfort of this outstanding villa. It is thoughtfully appointed and beautifully laid out, but what sets it above the rest are its magnificent gardens, a haven for wildlife and the perfect frame for regarding the Pacific and the stars. A very special place.
Wow!!! What a well thought out and appointed facility. We stayed a full week and never tired of the view, the pool, the proximity to town and the great people associated with our stay. Several of our party gave the massage rating as best ever!! I really enjoyed the pool, the trails and paths to and from the estate. The wildlife and birds were awesome. Especially reptiles. The house geckos supplied some little entertainment. We love the sound of the ocean and did not turn on the sound system even once. Everything we wanted or needed seemed to be at hand and made our stay rank as one of the best ever vacation! I would recommend this to anyone who is ambulatory and enthusiastic. People with disabilities will want to consider those challenges before booking. In closing, I would like to say thank you to Daniel and Lisa and to the owners for sharing this incredible retreat!!
"Stop. Look no further. You have found Shangri La, and there's simply no need for you to do anything now but book your reservations at Casa Carricitos.
This place is pure magic. Exceeds all expectations. So much so that, to be honest, we actually considered not writing this recommendation. That's how good Carricitos is. Our little voice kept saying, "No! Don't spread the secret about Casa Carricitos. Let's keep this all to ourselves!"
But in appreciation for the vision of utterly wonderful owners Adele and Michael, for the entire Casa Carricitos Family (who grant every wish beyond your expectations) and for the stunning retreat they co-create, we knew the Carricitos secret had to be shared. Trust us: You simply will not find another location in Sayulita (perhaps on the planet) that offers more that this serene paradise. Words and pictures simply cannot do it justice, cannot capture the magical "vibe" that is Carricitos. Time spent in this paradise feels like you have been transported to another planet. Should you desire a little reminder of what the rest of the world might be doing, town is just a short, beautiful walk. We doubt you'll be making that trip much…Carricitos is so magical, so surreal, that you just really never want to leave."
First vacation sans baby - we stayed in the little Casita down from the main house and it was HEAVENLY. Every morning we woke up super relaxed and the beach below was a daily adventure. We still talk about our stay here. Highly recommend having Carmen cook dinner for you too - she cooks for an army - so we ended up having food for several days. We also still talk about her cooking as it was so delicious. The hosts onsite were incredibly warm and let us have the privacy we were looking for - and the casita was incredibly clean and inviting. Can't wait to stay again - LOVED this place. The walk to town through the jungle at night was really fun too (bring a headlamp) - peaceful and all we could hear were the birds. Just incredible place.
kite boarding, jungle zip line adventure, bird watching, fishing, whale watching expeditions....
