Hello! Thank you for visiting. I live in Blanco, Texas with my two dogs, 1 cat and 6 chickens. I love the Blanco River, and am delighted to share my vacation homes in San Marcos and Blanco with you.
Why Owner chose Blanco
This cabin was originally the medic office for the Civilian Conservation Corps when they were building the Blanco dams in 1933. It has stayed true to it's rustic charm even while being updated to modern standards of comfort, convienence, and beauty. It sits directly across the road from the river, yet is a short walk into town!

Nice little place to stay
We really enjoyed our stay here from September 5-7, 2019. It was a cute little house in a quiet area that had everything we needed. Very clean. Deda sent us the door code before we got there, so getting in was hassle free. She also came by show us a few things we needed to know. The Blanco State Park was just around the corner and we enjoyed spending one of our days there. There were several eateries in Blanco that had patios that were dog-friendly, so we ate there (Hacienda el Charro and Redbud Cafe).
My two kids and myself stayed at this property. We had a fantastic time. Deda was very helpful and had everything looking beautiful when we checked in. It was so quiet and there were lots of things in the house to do during our down time. A beautiful house and a wonderful place to stay.
Everything and more
The property was very clean. The location was absolutely perfect with the river basically in the front yard. The owner was very friendly, attentive, and quick to respond. The house had all of the basic necessities and much, much more...plenty of blankets and sheets, the bathroom full of towels and toiletries, and the kitchen stocked with everything you need to make a meal for our family of 6.
Relaxing River Getaway
We had a wonderful weekend getaway! The cabin was just as described. Traveled with our family of six including two 14yr and a 16 and 17 year old to celebrate his 18th birthday 4th of July weekend. Brought back fond memories of weekends at my Aunt Nana’s house. The cabin was fully stocked from the kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms. AC and widow units kept the house nice and cool. Plenty of towels and blankets. There is a washer and dryer that was really convenient. We loved the Blanco River access which is right across a very quiet street. We felt very safe in the neighborhood. Blanco Town Square is about a five minute drive with several restaurants and a few shops. Wimberly is about a 30 minute drive. We visited The Blue Hole, Jacobs Well and the Corral Movie Theater. We also visited the Hamilton Pool Reserve which was about 45 minute drive. Keep in mind that the television can only be used by downloading an app chrome cast and using a mobile device along w/Netflix or Hulu. Not an Issue for our kiddos. No issues with the WiFi. The owner Deda was very nice and communication was excellent. We will definitely be back!!!
Great stay, very clean. Good communication.
Great time great place
We had a blast. We drove to nearby places with a lot to do such as hiking, swimming, visiting Real Ale Brewery and the Milam whisky distillery that is right down the road. Of course we also simply crossed the street anytime we wanted to swim in the beautiful Blanco River. Can’t wait to return.
It was great meeting Kelly and Missy! Look forward to their next visit!
