Jennifer purchased this cottage in 2009
The home is a large appartment (bungalow) where you will miss nothing during your stay. It has huge windows to sea side and we enjoyed the view during breakfast.
The appartment was prepared really cosy and comfy for our arrival at night. After a very long travel it was a very good feeling to arrive there.
The area is like a tropical garden - very green with beautiful blossoms and tropical fruits. The neighborhood is very quiet.
Shops, restaurants and bars and of course beaches are within driving minutes.
Jennifer and Regina were most helpful with everything that came up - thank you very much for that and your patience!!!
If you're wondering why the 5th star is missing: germans almost never give ful praise ;-)
We missed a little having breakfast on the terrace. It was not possible because of the moscitos. Please take into account that this might have been bad luck with weather conditions.
I have to emphasize, that this is the first appartment on Maui or even on any tropical site we had, that was completely bug free! If you take care to keep the doors closed, you will not have even a moscito in the home. The appartment is very clean and caring kept.
This home reminded me of old plantation home with nice porches overlooking the ocean and jungle. There is a carport to park your car under which may seem like a "so what". But a big convenience when you are packing the car up in the rain. We loved the peace and quiet and the comfy bed. We thought we might have a mosquito issue but didn't see one. There is a new ac unit however the evening rain and breezes cooled us off better than anything. The home is about a mile from the road to Hana so we got an early start missing all the crowds. We continued on driving the circle and stopping at beaches along the way. We actually enjoyed this part of the drive after Hana more though it is harrowing. There is a great beach Baldwin nearby. It did not have good reviews but it was perfect and we noted lots of patrols keeping everybody safe. Two more tips ... don't follow google maps Jennifer's directions are better and the dryer works by pulling out the dial. If it is alarming just give the dial a short pull. The only meal we ate out was at the cannery in haiku. The lunch special was fantastic.
This is a great place to stay when visiting Maui. I stayed here for 9 days and thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful grounds and the quiet surroundings. The cottage offers everything you need for an enjoyable and comfortable stay. My grandchildren who live in Maui loved visiting me here . The location is convenient and not far from Paia, and the beach. Jennifer and Regina were very helpful and accommodating. I am already looking forward to my visit to Maui next year and plan to stay here again
Lovely property, well maintained and surrounded by animals (chickens, a cat and a dog!). It was so quiet and peaceful. Jennifer left us to our own devices and gave us lots of privacy. Lots of mosquitoes so bring some personal repellent. It is a great spot to do the Road to Hana. Breakfast at Colleens, dinner at Flatbread Company and a fancy meal at Mamma's Fish House.
Thank you Jennifer for a wonderful place to stay. We stayed in Maui for 10 days & spent 3 days of it in Haiku. It was an excellent decision not only to be close to the activities on the north side of the island but because the experience we had staying in this house. Jennifer let my kids (ages 11 & 13) pick a few pieces of fruit from her trees & bring back a couple of fresh eggs from her hens. It's been all they've talked about since we got home. The accommodations are nice, a lot of space with the 2 bedrooms. The kids felt like they had their own house since they had their own mini kitchen in their room. Very close to Twin Falls & other hiking spots. Also gave us a jump start on the Hana crowd. We left at 7:30am & took our time & didn't run into a lot of folks. It felt like it did when we visited 15 years ago. Definitely recommend Haiku Anuenue.
My husband and I stayed for 8 nights. We chose to stay here because it was close to my son's home and it gave us a great place to visit with our newest granddaughter, age 3 months. By having the whole cottage we had a bedroom for ourselves with a bathroom ensuite(studio end) and a bedroom for my daughter in law to nurse the baby and put her down for naps. The extra bedroom also made it possible for the little family to spend the night when a storm with heavy rain came through. The full size kitchen and dining area provided plenty of room for the 4 of us to have meals in, while the location made dining out in Paia and Haiku convenient. We enjoyed hearing the chickens in the morning(and watching the sheepdog puppy try to herd them, too). The cottage was well stocked and the only improvement I would make is to put a removable shower head with a hose for the very small shower in the studio apartment.
