Hi, we are Toby and Emily Chandler. We were both born and grew up just outside of Greenville, SC and still reside in the upstate of South Carolina. Toby owns a heating and air conditioning business and Emily is a stay-at-home mother. Of course, we love to get down to Beaufort every chance we get and take some time to relax and enjoy the beauty!
Emily Chandler purchased this house in 2012
We love the Beaufort area and have vacationed there for many years. It has a wonderful, calm, relaxed atmosphere and offers so many of the things we love - boating, the beach, history, great food, shopping, and such wonderful people! What's more, it has all of the charm of Charleston without the traffic and rush! One day, a friend of ours who is a realtor told us about this property and we went to see it. After a trip out to the dock, we were sold. Since then, we have spent as much time there as possible, and hope that you too will get to see what an amazing place this is.
I rented this house for my family to stay during my sons Marine graduation. This house was beautiful, close to Parris island, clean, and very comfortable. The large upstairs deck and dock on the water provided amazing views and a perfect spot to relax with my family. My boys were only sad that they didn't bring fishing poles and my whole family was sad to leave. We would absolutely stay here again!!!
The location was beautiful and very private. There are no curtains or blinds on any of the windows. Sleeping in is tough. Plenty of room. Bed listings are incorrect. 1 king 2 queens and 1 room with 2 twins.
For the price I would stay again.
This property was exactly what my family was looking for in a vacation spot. The house was clean, had everything we needed, and the view was spectacular. We enjoyed seeing the dolphins and the jets from the nearby MCAS. It was very private but close to a lot of sight seeing opportunities. Our family voted we would definitely stay here again.
I am a first time user of any home rental site. The home was as advertised. The home was nice, a comfortable layout and linens provided were clean. The location on the water is beautiful. We had an issue with connection to service on one of the TV's but we were not there to watch the television. The location was convenient to Parris Island and provided a great meeting place for family and friends for our graduation week. We were very happy with our decision.
I had a great experience at this home. Emily the owner was very responsive and helpful before our trip, always got back to me right away! The home was very clean and in nice shape, they had just had it painted and the bedsore all new and comfortable. The open floor plan with the deck worked out perfect for a buffet lunch for our whole family after my sons marine graduation. After 3 months of 40 second showers, he said the shower was like being in heaven!!
The dock is great - wonderful view and a lovely place to sit- wish it was warm enough to kayak!
If you rent this home know that there are no condiments at all in the kitchen - had to buy salt, pepper, toilet paper, paper towels, sponge for the sink plastic wrap foil etc. this was a big expense that most houses provide.
If you go in the winter, ask for extra blankets to be provided- the heat works fine but we needed extra blankets despite the heat.
Don't hesitate to rent this house if you want privacy a lovely setting and comfortable accomadations.
Overall, it would have been nice to know that the kitchen was actually on the second floor of the home. Also, it was not very clean. And I'm not being picky. It definitely needed a good sweeping, dusting, and mopping. It would have made a world of difference. It's never a comfortable feeling to spend a few days away from home and spend it in a space that feels dirty.
This house is located just 15-20 minutes from Parris Island and is very convenient for families attending Parris Island graduations. Located just minutes from Beaufort, South Carolina, it is also close to many fun things to do. Beaufort offers a variety of family-owned shops and boutiques and excellent restaurants with small-town southern charm! You can also take a tour in a horse-drawn carriage, enjoy a ghost tour, or walk through Historic Old Point to see many antebellum homes which have been featured in a number of films including Forrest Gump and Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. Another must-see, the Frogmore community on St. Helena Island where the Gullah culture comes alive in shops and restaurants featured in Southern Living. Finally, Hunting Island State Park offers a unique, natural beach that takes one back to what America must have looked like when Columbus first arrived!
