a spacious and well furnished apartment with three balconies allowing plenty of leisure space
we enjoyed the good location of the apartment being within walking distance of the old town and the newer tourist areas.the bus stop outside the entrance takes you to the large supermarket about two miles away.We found plenty of restaurants and bars locally and were able to book our Island trips from one of the many agents shops in the vicinity. A beautiful and interesting island ---we shall return and hopefully book this comfortable apartment again.
Home from home
We had a marvellous holiday in Madeira staying in Jane's apartment during January 2018. The apartment is very spacious and would accommodate 6 people easily, though we didn't feel it was too big for just us two. The fact that there are two bathrooms makes life so much easier. There are lovely views to towards the sea from the kitchen balcony which faces south. We enjoyed many breakfasts sitting here watching the boats pass by. The lounge and two larger bedrooms have balconies where we sat later in the afternoon. The kitchen was spacious and very well equipped and it was therefore easy to self cater. The whole apartment was spotlessly clean and well maintained. Jill the apartment manager was really welcoming and helpful. We will certainly stay here again in the near future, as we really did feel that we were at home. And, the two local bakeries within walking distance were amazing.

The apartment is very modern, the neighbors are very friendly, The building is extremely secure, Jane, the owner was superb to deal with, clear communications from A to Z... I would definitely stay there again

Spacious, comfortable apartment
We really enjoyed our one week stay in this well equipped, spacious apartment. It was a lovely place to relax, having furnished balconies on either side, both with sea views, and very comfortable lounge and dining areas. Inevitably with busy roads around, there is some traffic noise but this was not a problem for us. The apartment is fortunate to have a public garden below it to one side and we felt this was an added bonus, enhancing the sea view from the apartment. It was also great to have two bathrooms. The kitchen is well equipped and had various welcome basic supplies in the cupboards. Jane provided us with useful information in advance and we really liked the local bakery and fruit and vegetable shop up the hill from the apartment. We rented a car and found this useful, especially as the island has different micro-climates and we were able to head out to the west and north which tended to have more sun in early June when we were there. We were able to use the parking space available in the apartment car park (recommended for small car only). We walked into the centre of Funchal, this is a pleasant 20 minute walk down the hill and along the main avenue, with several lovely gardens along the way. We didn't use the buses but this would be an option as they stop near the apartment. We ate out at various restaurants in Funchal and the Lido area (at a similar distance from the apartment) and enjoyed the free live street music and fireworks in Funchal during the festival taking place while we were there. The apartment was a great base for exploring this beautiful island and the different areas of Funchal.
Perfect apartment in great location
This was our third visit to Funchal but our first in an apartment. From the original inquiry Jane was very prompt with her responses, no question went unanswered. The photographs don't do the property justice, it's huge! Light and airy with the bedrooms benefiting from external Venetian blinds so the rooms are very cool in heat of the day.
The furniture and equipment are of an excellent standard with the kitchen and lounge balconies both furnished. The apartment is located on an incline but nothing too drastic. The number 8 bus stops just outside the entrance if coming back from the town or if you get on the same bus it will take you up to the large supermarket Continente.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this amazing apartment to anyone and have Jane's details for any future visits to this wonderful island!
Immaculate apartment with fantastic ocean views.
Very enjoyable escape from the uk winter. Funchal lights were on and the town buzzing with visitors from cruise liners and Madeirans . The refurbished sea front is a pleasant walk away. If you detour through Santa Catarina gardens the view over the harbour is spectacular. Food is excellent and plenty of choices not too far away. An island that rewards the explorer.
Situated on the first floor but with views of the ocean and overlooking the nearby Magnolia Gardens.The property is served by a lift to all floors from the ground floor entrance and the secure underground car parking.The property is located near Reids Hotel famous for its afternoon teas. The roof of the building offers panoramic views of the city and the bay of Funchal and should provide one of the best vantage points from which to enjoy the New Year's eve fireworks display. Buses stop outside the apartment for those wishing to explore Funchal and the rest of the island using public transit.

Additional information about rental rates
The apartment is cleaned and all bedding changed prior to every stay. Minimum deposit required to make reservation is €150. Fully Refundable Security (Damage) Deposit of €200 paid with last instalment prior to arrival. Security deposit is held by Homeaway. Longer term rentals are available and rates can be negotiated with the owners. At Christmas and the New Year we take bookings for whole weeks only if the date includes Christmas Day or New Year's day. A booking for both dates must be for a minimum of 2 weeks.
