About the property

1 bedroom, 2 bath pet-friendly home next to Blacklake Golf, near Pismo Beach

This rustic-but-cozy guest house is at the back of our 2 1/2 acre country property. Located behind the main house, the cottage has it's own private access drive from the road. Tall pine trees grace and shade the cottage's private, fenced garden. There is an abundance of trees, plant life and wildlife on and around our property. Enjoy the large kitchen, watch cable on the 50'' plasma TV, soak in the jacuzzi tub, BBQ on the private deck, read in the flower garden, wash your laundry, and let your dogs play in the fenced yard. About Owner

We're a quiet, friendly family w/ 2 kids, 2 cats, and a silly dog. We're busy living life on the front side of the property and will leave you to your privacy.

Why Owner chose Nipomo

You will hear only the peeping of quail in the morning, the chirping of birds in the day, and the hooting of owls at night (and coyote howls). Warm sunny days are freshened by a gentle breeze from the pacific and fragranced by the surrounding pines and flowers.

What makes this house unique

Nipomo is known for having one of the most stable climates in the world. You can expect most days to be sunny and pleasant. Winters are usually the same as summers - around 70 degrees. There is sometimes a pretty mist in the mornings. From late October thru February the monarch butterflies migrate across the property.

Nice, clean & well decorated cottage. Felt like home right front the start.

Visiting my son in San Luis Obispo and found this cute affordable cottage in Nipomo. We enjoyed ourselves in the surrounding towns but loved that we could "get away" from the crowds of the busy cities. The cottage was clean and well appointed. We had all the luxuries of home. The cottage is separate from the main house and we had no problems with it. Loved that it had it's own attached garage which we parked our car in at night. The owner, Suzy, kept me informed and although we didn't actually meet face to face, she was always informative and available had we needed her. She provided us with great suggestions of places to eat which was appreciated since this was our first time staying in Nipomo.

Cool Peaceful Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

August - We left the heat of the San Joaquin Valley to find a cool, peaceful and relaxing stay at the Nipomo Cottage. I'm not a beach person, though it is close. The trees and countryside are just perfect for long walks with the dog. With two golf courses within walking distance, we traversed the neighborhoods morning and afternoon. Everything is within a daytrip from Hearst Castle to Santa Barbara. Morning coffee on the deck is cool and inviting. Late afternoon tea and dinner on the deck is a treat. The kitchen is complete for preparing any meal and cookies too. If you're out of fruit, vegetables or eggs, a short walk down to the little vegetable stand is a delightful experience. The owner is close, but not intrusive. CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK!

Excellent getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Just as advertised, this was a very comfortable rental house for the two of us plus two dogs. Stayed for two months and had no issues. The surrounding area has much to offer, and the weather is very temperate. Highly recommended.

Large, Beautiful, calm getaway

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for Thanksgiving weekend, with our son and our large dog.

The cottage is BIG. The extra bathroom is a huge bonus. We also had side yard (2 actually), a full kitchen, and a garage to park our car. With a lab for a dog, small spaces can be nauseating -- but this cottage is large and had a real nice layout -- so everything feels connected. The doors are mostly sliding doors, so the compartmentalization effect is minimal.

The TV is setup for netflix and amazon. We actually loved that. There is wifi -- so we were able to use our computer as needed.

Most of all, the location is peaceful and quiet, but not too far from Pismo or any other destination in the area.

We really had a great time and we will be back again.

The house is located about 5 miles due east from the ocean and 1 mile off Hwy 1. Willow Road exit off Hwy 101 is a straight 3 mile drive to the cottage. The cottage is less than 1,000 ft from Blacklake golf course. It feels like a country setting, surrounded by trees and fields.
