Overview

Minnesota Cabin Rental Photos and Description

2 bedroom, 1 bath.

Nestled comfortably in Saunder's Bay with all the amenities of home this lake front property offers visitors a private location on Pelican Lake. It is centrally located within the best fishing and hunting areas in Northern Minnesota. Resting on over 10,000 acres of lake and 50 Islands makes for some unbeatable fishing.

It's isolated location will give visitors that away from the crowds feel yet with direct access to the activities or interests that makes lake front living so enjoyable. You can water ski here, or if requested, rent one of the available fishing boats and catch walleyes, northern pike, crappies on one of the best fisheries around, most can be caught right off the dock.

Bring your golf clubs and play at some of the area golf courses. Visitors may also use either the paddle boat or canoe to explore the bay or venture out onto greater Pelican Lake.

The cabin features a screened-in veranda that looks out onto the lake providing a comfortable living space to enjoy your meals, play cards or read a book.

Personally, I find the cabin a place where I can kick back and enjoy life's simple pleasures. Where the inherent calming effects of nature can soothe the stresses in our lives and clear the senses. A place to enjoy the company of friends and family.

The Superior National Forest and the Boundary Waters Canoe Wilderness Area makes this an excellent home base location for visitors interested in exploring Minnesota's Voyagers Country. The area surrounding the cabin offers an ideal habitat for a variety of birds and animals big and small. Visitors are likely to see Bald Eagles, Ospreys, beavers, otters or hear the wolves.

Visit the Vince Shute Wildlife Sanctuary and get up close to black bears just minutes away or visit The International Wolf Center or The North American Bear Center in Ely, MN.

Amenities include: A queen size bed in one and two twin size beds in the second bedroom. A Futon in living room can fold out into a bed and accommodate 2 additional people. The is also a hide-a-bed on the newly refinished porch. Words cannot describe how wonderful it is to awaken to a sunrise on the lake.

About Joel Patino/local mgr=Paige Bisbee

Originally from the North Side of Chicago, I moved to northern California and attended San Francisco State University, where I met my wife of almost thirty years. We live in wine country, Sonoma County just north of San Francisco.

My background is in business management, finance and home construction. My interests include exploring the great outdoors, travel and U.S. Foreign Policy.

My kind of cousin Paige is my property manager and your local go to person. She lives on 160 acres just a few minutes down the road in Orr.

Why Joel Patino/local mgr=Paige Bisbee chose Minnesota

I inherited this property as part of a group of adjoining lots that have been in the family for generations. It is here where I've shared countless memories over the years enjoying family, fishing and good times.

It's sitting makes it a desirable location, situated in an semi-isolated region of Pelican lake, the bay is rarely explored by others and imparts the feeling of owning part or your own private lake.

Living and working in large urban areas can run you down physically, mentally and perhaps more importantly spiritually. The sights and sounds of wildlife, the smell of fresh air and the texture of the surrounding wilderness can be intoxicating. This location slows that pace of life and always provides me with the remedy and refuge. It can recharge the batteries and relieve the stress. It's here and in these surroundings that someone can find the perfect place for relaxation and peace of mind.

Paige's grandfather-Grumpy; was my aunts second husband and a lot of the character of the place can be attributed to him.

What makes this cabin unique

Welcome 2016 guests!!

We have been working hard to refresh Great Auntie Josephine's cabin.

There are all new windows on the porch and lake view from the living room. The kitchen has upgraded to a new gas range and best of all... all of the 1970 carpeting has been replaced with new eco friendly, fresh smelling berber. The exterior and bathroom are next! Keep checking in with us and book your dates early; The Josephine is getting gorgeous and you won't want to leave.

Perfect for a Getaway

  • 4 of 5

My wife and I wanted a last minute getaway for a long weekend in October and "The Josephine" cabin was a great match. The setting was perfect with the sun porch, the board games, and the fire pit. We had beautiful weather and when it was chilly on Sunday we were very comfortable relaxing indoors.

The cabin is well kept and was very clean. The water was the only drawback about our stay. The faucet, shower, and toilet all shared an issue that the water pressure would completely shut off in spurts. Temperature of the water was great. Also, I may have missed the note, but do bring your own drinking water!

Overall we had a wonderful stay and recommend this cabin and owner to all interested travelers.

Quiet and clean

  • 5 of 5

We had a nice time at the cabin. It is clean, well kept up and has everything you need to enjoy your stay. Like one reviewer said though, there is not a sandy swimming area. It is a nice quiet spot on the lake.

Great vacation rental

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time renting this cabin! It was very clean, private, and caretakers were very easy to get a hold of in the case you needed anything. The boat for rent was small, but perfect to stay in the bay and fish. Only thing to mention is there was more weeds than expected, but didn't plan on swimming off the dock anyways. Well likely rent this again!

Good times

  • 3 of 5

We enjoyed our stay. Cabin had everything needed though AC and digital antenna would have been nice. Beautiful sunsets. Fishing was a little tough mostly because of wind. Pelican lake is pretty weedy and huge so trim motor and keep an eye on water circulation through motor. I view this place as more of a fishing cabin on a what normally would be a great fishing lake. Thanks for sharing it with us!

Come here to relax, fish, or canoe

  • 4 of 5

Its a place for sitting around a fire and going out to fish. Cabin is clean and nice. Canoe was great. Do know this though, if you are coming here to swim with the the kids, its not a swimming lake or at least the part of the lake in front of the cabin. Its very weedy and mucky. But for going out in the canoe its great, very beautiful to look at.

Great value

  • 4 of 5

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would love to visit again. Old school charm in this place, as well as very clean. I was astonished by the Beauty of Pelican lake and couldn't believe I was virtually the only boat on this majestic lake for the 4th of July. The fishing was great! Only thing I would like to see different is maybe a window air conditioner. But definitely anything else you would ever need is available at this property. The caretakers of this property are great and willing to accommodate whatever you need, including farm fresh eggs.
