About Joel Patino/local mgr=Paige Bisbee
Originally from the North Side of Chicago, I moved to northern California and attended San Francisco State University, where I met my wife of almost thirty years. We live in wine country, Sonoma County just north of San Francisco. My background is in business management, finance and home construction. My interests include exploring the great outdoors, travel and U.S. Foreign Policy. My kind of cousin Paige is my property manager and your local go to person. She lives on 160 acres just a few minutes down the road in Orr.
Why Joel Patino/local mgr=Paige Bisbee chose Leiding
I inherited this property as part of a group of adjoining lots that have been in the family for generations. It is here where I've shared countless memories over the years enjoying family, fishing and good times. It's sitting makes it a desirable location, situated in an semi-isolated region of Pelican lake, the bay is rarely explored by others and imparts the feeling of owning part or your own private lake. Living and working in large urban areas can run you down physically, mentally and perhaps more importantly spiritually. The sights and sounds of wildlife, the smell of fresh air and the texture of the surrounding wilderness can be intoxicating. This location slows that pace of life and always provides me with the remedy and refuge. It can recharge the batteries and relieve the stress. It's here and in these surroundings that someone can find the perfect place for relaxation and peace of mind. Paige's grandfather-Grumpy; was my aunts second husband and a lot of the character of the place can be attributed to him.
What makes this Cabin unique
Welcome 2016 guests!! We have been working hard to refresh Great Auntie Josephine's cabin. There are all new windows on the porch and lake view from the living room. The kitchen has upgraded to a new gas range and best of all... all of the 1970 carpeting has been replaced with new eco friendly, fresh smelling berber. The exterior and bathroom are next! Keep checking in with us and book your dates early; The Josephine is getting gorgeous and you won't want to leave.

A nicely finished old cabin in a very private location. Beautiful lake.
Early to mid September is a good time here. No bugs, warm days and cool nights. Caretaker/manager Paige and husband Matt were great. The lake is very weedy so no swimming nor fishing from dock. Lots of watercraft available so not much of a problem. May only be this time of year. The sunsets were awesome.
We were looking for a less expensive last minute place to stay on Pelican Lake. Josephine was available for our dates. Loved loved loved the place! I was not expecting the generous amount of drinking water available and towels and blankets! Everything you could imagine needing is there! Water was not working but kind neighbor helped us out. Plenty of space, drawers full of movies and games. Nice dock and fire pit. Only drawback is not having a place to swim. Would for sure stay again! 5 of us but plenty room for more!
Perfect spot for a relaxing vacation!
This was such a great spot to spend our vacation, it was our first family vacation. The cabin was very spacious and cozy and on a great part of the lake, it was very quiet and peaceful. The weather was perfect the entire week which allowed for some amazing sunsets and dock fishing! The kids also really enjoyed going out on the paddle boat. We spent most of the nights watching movies and playing board games. As others have said, it's not a place to swim, however just 5 minutes down the road is a very quiet, clean swimming area, playground, and a pier to fish off of.
Thank you for sharing your cabin with us, we had such a great week and made tons of memories!
Great fishing with lakeside relaxation
Lake house is well-furnished and terrific backyard with gas grill, canoe, paddle boat, fish cleaning station, picnic table and firepit. Great lakeview from the closed-in porch or sitting in the backyard. Only downside was the the lake water source for tap water requiring one to filter or to use bottled water as well as the low water pressure in the bathroom shower. We had a marvelous week with evening fires and catching lots of good-sized smallmouth bass, largemouth bass and bluegills.
Comfortable, relaxing, great weather, friendly neighbors.
We had no problem finding the property, great directions. The cabin was clean, quiet, secluded. The kitchen is stocked with everything needed. The picture of Josephine brings you back to another era. Paige is great to work with, very hospitable. The friends we invited to join us were also impressed. Northland Lodge Resort serves terrific dinners in their restaurant, and Trails End Resort has the best ribs! The lake is beautiful.
Perfect for a Getaway
My wife and I wanted a last minute getaway for a long weekend in October and "The Josephine" cabin was a great match. The setting was perfect with the sun porch, the board games, and the fire pit. We had beautiful weather and when it was chilly on Sunday we were very comfortable relaxing indoors.
The cabin is well kept and was very clean. The water was the only drawback about our stay. The faucet, shower, and toilet all shared an issue that the water pressure would completely shut off in spurts. Temperature of the water was great. Also, I may have missed the note, but do bring your own drinking water!
Overall we had a wonderful stay and recommend this cabin and owner to all interested travelers.
