About the property

Spacious, Comfortable And Beautifully Furnished Home For 6, Dogs Welcome

Our holiday home has panoramic views across Poole Harbour towards Brownsea Island and the Purbeck Hills from all the principal rooms. The house is set on the harbour side with a short walk along the shore to Poole Quay, or inland to Poole town. There are numerous cycleways to explore the coast, and the beautiful sandy beaches at Sandbanks are only a 5 minute car ride away.

The ground floor has an open plan lounge/dining area with a door leading to a large conservatory. There is a patio garden at the rear. The kitchen is fitted with an electric double oven and gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, washer/drier and fridge freezer.

There is a double bedroom downstairs with views across the harbour from the bed! This has an en-suite shower and WC.

On the first floor there is a further sitting room with panoramic views. A door leads out onto the balcony where you can sit with your morning coffee or evening “gin & tonic” to enjoy the harbour scene! We have Sky TV channels and there is a DVD and a CD player. Wifi Broadband is also available.

The upstairs double bedroom also has superb views.

There is also a twin-bedded room.

We are very happy to consider short breaks in the low to mid season but please see below for prices. (Despite our best efforts with the website it is only able to calculate and present to you the pro rata rates - our apologies for this). Do call us if you have any questions.

About Mark & Penny Hockey

Knowing the area, we just loved the house and its views and despite living close, we thought this was a property to enjoy. We then decided to share it with others wanting to enjoy the location, and quickly found that we could not accommodate all our regular visitors who kept wanting to return. Hence we branched out again and have two other properties in Poole 82810 and 451628 on the homeaway website.

This area has so much to offer for families but also out of season we have many mature couples who enjoy the location and peace.

Excellent location - doesn't get much better!

We moved away from Poole 2 years ago but chose to come back for Christmas 2017 to spend time with friends and family. The property suited our needs perfectly and we all felt really comfortable, it had everything we needed. When we arrived we were amazed to find a fully decorated Christmas tree in the main lounge - such a lovely touch - and also a bottle of wine and a card - thank you. The location is fantastic, right on the water's edge, walking distance to the town centre, supermarkets, shops, bars, restaurants and more. We would definitely recommend and will definitely consider booking again for our next trip to the UK.

Excellent location!

We spent a great week in this really cosy and comfortable house. We went for lovely walks with our dog right from the front door, starting in the park just opposite. We also walked into town easily and visited some lovely pubs and fish restaurants! And the view from the balcony really was fabulous.

All in all a marvellous place to stay!

Great location, amazing views, short distance to the town

There needs to be a list of local Doctors, Dentists and vets. The shower is not powerful enough.

The family really enjoyed the holiday and would definitely stay again.

The list of Doctors etc is being compiled as I type so will be in the information folder soon! The downstairs ensuite shower is indeed not a power shower - sorry for that. We also struggle a bit with the hard water obstructing the shower outflow but we will do all we can to enable it to be as good a flow as possible. Many thanks

Absolutely amazing holiday home

Had an absolutely wonderful stay the house was warm and very well equipped. The view is amazing and you can stroll into town in a few minutes. Penny is always at the end of a phone should anything be wrong. We have already booked again for Feb 2018.

Our holiday home is located close to Poole Quay in a quiet harbour side park and has panoramic views across Poole Harbour towards Brownsea Island and the Purbeck Hills from all the principal rooms. Poole park is a short walk away and Sandbanks with its award winning beach is only a 15 minute drive. There is a chain ferry which leaves every 20 minutes from Sandbanks to cross to Purbeck with its fabulous scenery and heritage coastline. Poole quay and the Old High Street with all its shops and restaurants is a 10 to 15 minute walk. Inland, the New Forest is also a very accessible day trip. To the north, the market town of Ringwood and city of Salisbury are an easy drive away. To the west, there are many picturesque Dorset villages to visit. In every direction there are places to visit and lots of activities to keep the whole family happy.

The security deposit of £100 is due within 5 days of making a booking. We will email confirmation of your booking with details of when the full and final payment is due. We will also send some more information about the house to you. We then hold the security deposit until after your departure, and, all being left clean and tidy in the house, we will arrange to return your deposit to you within two weeks of your departure - usually within a few days!
Please remember to bring your own personal towels.
We charge an additional £25 for 1 dog and £40 for 2 dogs per week.
Please check with us for the cost of stays shorter than 7 nights as we are not able to charge exactly pro rata.
