'Indian Pine' is located in Connestee Falls -a gated community in the mountains of western North Carolina, six miles from the town of Brevard. Connestee Falls has 4,000 wooded acres, four large man-made lakes, clubhouse (golf shop, fitness center, locker rooms, lunch grill, formal dining room and bar), 18 hole championship golf course, tennis-pickleball-bocce courts, heated lap and kiddie pools, numerous hiking trails and magnificent waterfalls. The house, nicknamed Indian Pine, is a short 10-minute walk (one minute drive) to all of these amenities. It is on a beautiful, secluded, wooded cul-de-sac street with only two homes that are surrounded by pristine wooded acreage, and the 11th golf hole. At the end of the cul-de-sac is one of the many hiking trails in Connestee Falls. This trail leads past the 11th golf fairway and down to Lake Ticoa. The house is nearly 2,000 square feet of finished area in the main level, second level/loft and lower level. The main floor contains new red oak hardwood floors, the master bedroom with king size bed and HDTV, large walk-in closet, full bathroom with jetted spa tub, fully equipped kitchen, living room with HDTV and propane gas fireplace, separate dining room, wood sun deck off the living room and screened porch off the dining room. The upper level consists of a bedroom with queen bed, walk in closet, full bath and large carpeted loft area that offers a beautiful view of the rear woods. The lower level has a bedroom area with queen bed, two closets and an adjacent separate recreation/living room area with HDTV, a wood burning stove and a queen sleep sofa. There is a fully equipped laundry room on the lower level, which can be accessed from the one-car garage. Indian Pine is equipped with full WiFi and enjoys excellent cellular reception. Since we live in a cellular world, there is no active land line in the house. You will receive an amenities package that includes four complimentary green fees at our championship mountain golf course and a free day at the fitness center.
The community known as Connestee Falls and the surrounding towns offered everything we wanted in a place to live. Moderate summer and winter climate, natural beauty and excellent golf are just a few of the many attributes of the area. It is a great getaway for friends and extended family. There is nothing better than the lakes, hiking and fresh air for the grand-kids. The lakes are stocked with a variety of fish, which can be caught after obtaining a Connestee Falls license.
Privacy is assured by having a bedroom on each floor of the home. The many separate areas of the home, the serenity of the surrounding woods and the proximity to the amenities are the best things about Indian Pine.
My husband and I so enjoyed escaping the Florida summer heat by staying at Indian Pine for six weeks. The kitchen has everything one needs to prepare meals - we loved eating lunch and most dinners on the screened porch. It was always too cool for us at breakfast time. Sometimes a deer would pass by to say hello. The house is very comfortable, plenty of room to spread out. It has a welcoming, "lived-in" look that makes one relax. Some hiking trails within Connestee Falls were a bit "difficult" (bring hiking boots!) but well kept so doable for us "old folks". The swimming pool is very nice - refreshing on a warm afternoon, although this year we did not have many warm afternoons. We loved the fresh, mountain air - no need for AC. Our lungs feel cleansed. For golfers who may not be up to playing the course here, Sherwood Forest golf course is just down the road a piece. As other renters have reported, there is plenty to do and see in the vicinity. We hope to return to Connestee next summer.
We recently finished our third stay at Indian Pine. The first two times we stayed a week each time. This stay was for two months. Again, we were very happy with the accommodations. There is a great king size bed, comfortable recliners, and three HD TVs with a good cable lineup. It is only the two of us, but there is plenty of room for families to spread out and have plenty of space. We are avid fitness participants and the location of Indian Pine to the fitness center, the lap pool, pickleball courts, and walking trail is so convenient. Additionally, you can't beat the beauty of Connestee Falls and surrounding Transylvania County with the hiking trails and waterfalls located in the Pisgah National Forest and the Dupont State Forest. If you are looking for a comfortable stay in a cooler place in the South, this is the place to visit and stay.
We enjoyed our Fall Getaway in the listed property. The house is well appointed and very comfortable. Golfing was great and also enjoyed two dinners at the Clubhouse. The little town of Brevard has excellent restaurants and a little shopping for a day out. In the Fall there are alot of art festivals, etc going on and perfection location to take advantage of that. The owners are wonderful to deal with and very concerned that your stay is going as planned. Would recommend for 4-8 people.
The home was even more lovely than depicted on VRBO. Extremely clean, stocked with any/every thing you might need, comfortable bed, great linens and on a very private street....steps from hiking trails and the 11th fairway of a beautiful golf course. Had breakfast on the screened in porch, cocktails on the deck each evening. The people we met were very nice and the town of Brevard...just 6 miles away...was just charming. Great restaurants to choose from. DuPont and Pisagh State Forests close by. Great trout fishing, we even saw a white squirrel on one of our hikes! The owner was great to work with and was pleased to hear we had such a great time. We hope to be back, sooner, rather than later.
Lovely private home, very well equipped with everything you'd ever need. Extremely clean home where your only neighbors are deer, turkey and an occasional white squirrel. Close to tennis courts, pickle ball, swimming pool and club house. Just across from the 11th fairway (although you wouldn't know it.) and close to hiking trail (13 hiking trails Connesstee).. , Just had a wonderful time, the folks we met were very nice, the town of Brevard is quaint with great restaurants. The owner was great to work with. Wish we were still there. Know we will be back
We really enjoyed our stay! This home is very comfortable and has everything we needed. That means a good bed, comfortable chairs (recliners), cable and HD TVs, wi-fi, and a great location - close to the community center for our lap swimming and workouts at the fitness center. Additionally, the area around Brevard is beautiful with the waterfalls, hiking trails, mountains, and the downtown area. We are looking forward to staying here again next year.
