We grew up in Fremont, CA but have been living in the Lodi area for 40+ years. We went to school at Washington Union High School and San Jose Community College.
Mike Paul purchased this cabin in 1970
We grew up vacationing at Meeks Bay Resort at Lake Tahoe. When we decided to buy our own cabin, we bought a lot in Tahoe Swiss Village and spent our summer weekends with a couple of carpenter friends building this home.
We chose this area to build a cabin because it had its own private Association beach and pier. We enjoy boating and this place lets us do that easily. There are buoys that are available to rent from the Association.
This is a beautifully remodeled cabin, very close to the Homewood resort, with some fun high tech extras like a trash compactor and a bear fence. The only negative thing about this cabin is that it doesn't have a large dining room table. However it was perfect for our company of 4 adults and 5 kids. The kids were comfortably seated at the bar for meals and the two upstairs bedrooms were large enough for them to both sleep and play board games etc in. Also the living room couch is large enough for a lot of people. Beds in all bedrooms were very comfortable and bathrooms are beautiful (very modern). Additionally we came up during a storm and had frequent contact with the owner who could not have been more accommodating. Instant replies and all issues was solved to everyones satisfaction. When booking I opted for the insurance since I felt the $1500 deposit was a bit steep and you never know... However after getting to know Mike Paul I would not hesitate to pay the deposit and feel safe that I would be fairly treated. Highly recommended.
We had a great time cooking meals, playing games, enjoying the private beach, and hiking Tahoe area trails. The cabin was perfect for the six of us. The kitchen/family room area was awesome. Had everything we needed to prepare meals and sit around relaxing. We also enjoyed sitting on the deck taking in the peaceful forest.
Any questions we had were quickly answered by the owner.
We will be back in the future. The cabin and area are great!
The cabin is very clean . The linens and bedding were great. Comfy beds. New kitchen and baths. The owner was very nice and accommodating. He was always available. We highly recommend this cabin and hope to return soon!!!
Took my family of 4 to 1st Cabin and had a great time. We needed to relax and got what we asked for. Good location, short drive to everything on the West Shore. Great owners to deal with, friendly and always returned my emails quickly with answers.
We will be back!
Our family recently stayed in the Paul's cabin and it was fantastic. Very comfortable and plenty of amenities. Nicely updated kitchen and bathrooms. The owner even called to check in to be sure all was as expected when we arrived. We had one minor hiccup and he made sure is was taken care of. Loved our daily morning time out on the deck. We would definitely consider staying here again.
We stayed at this cabin over the 4th of July Weekend. My family with two teenage sons and my best-friend and her family also with two teenage sons. There were 8 total, and we loved the kitchen, bathrooms and deck. The kitchen and bathrooms have been upgraded are are very nice. The bedrooms were nicely sized and the bunk rooms upstairs each sleep 3 people as there is a trundle also. The only issue with our group is that the living room area was a bit too small as we are all pretty big people (my sons are 6'4" and 6'). However the adults hung out on the lovely, very spacious deck outside and kids in living room which worked well. The cabin is cozy and if you don't mind a cozy living area this place is awesome. We walked 2 blocks to the private beach on the lake and kayacked, swam and had an overall wonderful time. We walked the bike-trail along the lake which is also 2 blocks away. The cabin is charming, close to the water and nicely priced. Thank you Paul family for a lovely holiday weekend!
