Costambar Beach is a one minute walk, approximately 500 feet.
Located 3 Miles west of the City of Puerto Plata in quiet Costambar. Nicely furnished 1 bedroom, one bath unit on the 1st floor. One minute walk to beach. Daily maid, casinos nearby. Good base for exploring the North Coast of the DR. Much to see and do.

Nice coral protected beach which is great for children. At a low tide you can walk way out and there is lots of sealife to investigate. Be careful when walking because openings in the coral can go 50 feet deep. Great for snorkeling or diving. Locals fish and snorkle with spearguns and sell their catch, the more spanish you speak the less you pay.
Cable TV, daily maid. Maid will do your laundry for a reasonable fee. Towels and linens supplied. Maid cleans floors, empties the trash, and you are responsible for everything else. The towels are changed every 3 days and sheets once a week. No Phone , no air-conditioning. Third world. We have 24 hour power but have 40 kilowatt deisel generator that runs as a back up. I also have a battery backup for fans,lights and fridge for emergency use. A 450 gallon water tank on the roof provides water in the event that power goes out. You have 24 hour water and power.
Deposit and signed rental agreement necessary for reservation. I answer e-mails promptly on weekdays.

I purchased this property because I own a 2 bedroom apartment in the same building, vrbo # 274012, I know the property and was offered it for a price we couldn't refuse.
In June 2012 after I purchased we had the place gutted and put new ceramic tile throughout the apartment. New appliances, new bedroom set and mattress. The living area has a flat screen with dvd player. New pots and pans, coffee pot and toaster
This June we bought a new sofa bed and did a few smaller improvements.
I have stayed in this same condo twice now, once by myself and once with my husband. It is very clean and has all the necessities plus great WIFI I needed for work. Also wonderful maid service with clean towels and sheets every 2nd day. Just step outside your door to a good size pool. The beach is about 1 min walk away. Lots of restaurants close by with great food and inexpensive prices. Costambar is a gated community in Puerto Plata. I felt very safe (as a woman) walking alone to the markets and exploring on my own. Jenny's market has a wide selection of grocery items, alcohol and miscellaneous things you might want - they also deliver. I am English speaking with very limited Spanish but had no trouble getting by as most places had English speaking employees. My husband and I both Loved it! Thank you Tom!
I stayed in this apartment on April 10th to the 16th. The apartment was pleasantly close to the beach it made my kids trip to be able to skip to the beach everyday while there. The unit had everything we needed and was well maintained . While there we did not have any issues with the electricity. If you have a rental it is perfect as you can go to the grocery store within Costambar or travel out to the larger SuperMarcado in the Malecon. I wanted to say thank you to Tom for a great stay.
I stayed in this ground floor apartment for a week in Sept. in Costambar. It was quiet, the apartment was newly renovated, and the water pressure was strong. The pool was right outside my door. Meriam, the cleaning woman comes every day and leaves C-5 clean and neat. She kept my sheets and towels so fresh that I wanted her for my wife, but alas, she declined. Lodi, the manager was very helpful and congenial. She addressed all my concerns and explained the water and electricity systems for the apartment. But honestly, that did not prove to be a concern. An inverter supplies the refrigerator and the fans. Air conditioning is not necessary with the fans and cross ventilation from the open windows. The apartment looks nice with the new tile throughout.
