Location, Location, Location!!

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was perfect for our Parent's weekend at the Naval Academy and we will most likely stay again for Commissioning week in a couple of years. Loved that it was within walking distance to Main Street and the Naval Academy. We really only used the car to take our God Daughter shopping and for the football game. Everything else is right there. Parking really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be - we parked on the street most of the time with no problems. The bed was really comfortable and the AC units keep the place nice and cool. The full kitchen with washer and dryer would be great if we actually used it. But we only used the coffee pot as there are so many places to eat and drink on Main Street. Great neighborhood and great place to stay. I would definitely recommend for a party of 3 or less and for those who don't have problems with stairs. Oh and the wi-fi signal is nice and strong!

Owner's Response: Thank-you for the very nice review. You touched on many of the features that make our apartment and its location so nice!! People worry about the parking often, but guests have parking options. You can choose to park in the residential parking areas, or use a close by parking garage. I have info on all options when people inquire about the apartment. Regarding how many people this apartment will hold comfortably; there is a queen sized bed in the bedroom( and you are right, it is really comfortable!), and a queen sized sleep sofa in the living room. We are upgrading the sleeper sofa in the next month with a new sleeper sofa with a memory foam mattress(it's on order). In addition, there is a fold up cot. I would say that (4) adults(who know each other well) can stay comfortably, and then maybe a child for the cot. It really depends on how cozy guests want to be :-) There are plenty of sheets, blankets, towels, and kitchen things for (5). If you are interested in Commissioning week 2017 I would recommend reserving it as soon as possible. We are usually booked for commissioning week 2 years prior. We look forward to having you stay with us again soon!

Lovely apartment in perfect location

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from a trip to Annapolis to visit our son during Plebe Parent's Weekend for United States Naval Academy Class of 2019 and this apartment was perfect for what we needed during our 3 day stay! It was my husband and me plus our 16 year old son. The apartment was bigger than I expected with a nice sized bedroom, large living area where the sofa bed was located, a small but well appointed kitchen and a nicely renovated bathroom with full sized tub and shower. There was also a rollaway bed available. It was beautifully decorated and had plenty of towels, extra blankets, pillows, etc. We did not really use the kitchen but it included a full sized fridge, dishwasher, small appliances, etc. and plenty of dishes if you wanted to prepare a few meals. We had plenty of room for the 3 of us for sleeping at night and for all 4 of us to relax and visit during the days when our Midshipman was with us. It really felt more like we were staying at the place of a friend instead of a rental property. There were tissues, paper towels, TP, hand and dish soap and even laundry detergent available for the W&D that is in the kitchen closet which in most rental properties you would have to provide for yourselves. That was very handy especially since we arrived late at night before the chance to go to the store. There were 3 separate room A/C units which worked very well. The wifi was fast and reliable. The location is just a 5 minute walk from all the action on Main Street and about 15-20 minutes to Gate 1 or 3 of USNA but on a lovely, quiet residential street. There is a nice park and water access right at the end of the street and a small public parking lot 1/2 block away. Between the lot and street parking during the weekend, parking was not a problem. This was our first chance to see and talk to our son for 6 weeks so we spent a lot of our time just hanging out in the apartment and it was so much more comfortable that a downtown hotel and yet no more expensive. We are already planning our next trip to visit and would definitely like to stay here again if it is available. Just for reference, this is an upstairs apartment with steep stairs typical of older buildings so that would be a consideration for people who might have trouble with those. The owners were so very prompt with the reservation and every questions we had. Overall, a great property and experience!

Owner's Response: Thank-you so much for your thoughtful review! I am so glad that you had a nice plebe parents weekend!! You touched on parking, and how manageable it is. I email all of our guests options & information about parking so that you are informed and prepared before you arrive. I have always been able to find a spot within 1-2 blocks of the building. You also mentioned the A/C units. These are mini-split units that provide both A/C & Heat for the apartment. They are very efficient and regulate the temperature in the apartment very well. I just want to mention that they are not window units. These units are installed in the walls, high enough to be out of the way, and operate very quietly. If you look at the pictures of the living room, you can see one installed on the wall higher that 6 feet off of the ground. You are correct about the stairs - they are typical of a historic district building. The stairs are recently carpeted (to help with traction) with hand rails on each side of the stairs. I look forward to hearing from you about your accommodation needs the next time you and your family come to Annapolis! We enjoy having USNA families stay at our (2) VRBO apartments in this building!!

Excellent Property

  • 5 of 5

I used VRBO for the first time and stayed at this apartment in Annapolis for the weekend. I found it on the VRBO website and booked based on the posted reviews and from the email contact I had with the owner. First off, the owner is very easy to work with and very responsive to questions. The property was perfect for my stay in Annapolis. Everything was as advertised. I will be staying here again on my next trip.

A nice place!

  • 5 of 5

I stayed there with my three kids and it worked great. Only a short walk to downtown Annapolis and thankfully the A/C worked wonderfully. (I'm not a fan of the humid weather..) We didn't have a car to park since Uber was available in the area which worked out well.
