Beautiful year round ( non-smoking) lake house on South Lake Leelanau close to Leelanau, Leland and Suttons Bay. Bright, sunny views and sandy bottom for swimming. 100 feet of lakefront space and just 45 feet from the water.
Located 25 minutes from the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes and National Lake Shore Park that was voted The Most Beautiful Place in America in 2011, this summer home is roomy, clean, comfortable, well equipped, well maintained. It has two floors for living with two complete kitchens that would make a perfect retreat for two families vacationing together. Multiple balconies and patio areas lets you spread out and entertain family and friends. The house is designed so that the lake is visible from most of the first and second floor rooms; the upper level kitchen, living and dining rooms, the lower level master bedroom, family room and rec room. Rooms on the lower floor open to the patios which also allows great water views and shade. To enjoy the lakefront, just slide open the glass door in the dining room or family room, move to the deck and down to the lawn and venture out into the water with its sandy bottom. The lake is shallow a good distance out making this a great area for supervising children's summer fun.
There is a beautiful dock to which you can moor your boat or jet ski. It could also be a great place to soak up the warm summer sun.
Lazy days in the sun, swimming, fishing, and boating move to evenings by the fire watching the sunset. This is the perfect setting to enjoy family time, to relax, to laugh and to play together. You are centrally located to explore the many attractions that surround you.
Keywords: A roomy 4 bedroom, 2 full bathroom home that sits a few steps from the water's edge of Lake Leelanau.
Our family has been vacationing on Lake Leelanau since I was a child in Cincinnati and now as an adult with my own family living in Illinois. We are so happy to have finally realized our dream of owning a beautiful vacation home here and to start creating our own family memories.
Beth and Jim Robinson purchased this house in 2012
We chose this property because of the gorgeous, sunny views, large spacious layout and multiple kitchens for entertaining. Also, the dock and sandy bottom can't be beat.
Large dock with ability to dock one boat off added moorings, two kitchens and multiple outdoor decks and patios for entertaining and relaxing.
We spent a week at this lake home and were truly impressed with the accommodations. The place was clean, well equipped and spacious. The front lot on Lake Leelanau offered room to play games (bocce ball, corn hole etc) and good for small children. The dock offered us plenty of options to moor a rented pontoon and jet ski. I would recommend this home for parties up to 12 and will definitely be back again.
We really enjoyed staying at this house. We've tried several in the area and this is our favorite. It has a great location right on the lake. The house is very bright, sunny and large, and was simply and beautifully decorated. There was plenty of room for our two families (11 people in total). We especially appreciated the nice touches of having beach towels on hand, a bundle of wood to toast our s'mores, and various board games around the house. (The kids fell in love with Battleship all over again)! We also really appreciated the use of the kayaks and paddle boards. The beds were very comfortable, which isn't always the case with rental properties. We would definitely rent this house again. The location was great too - it's close to Leland, Glen Arbor and Sutton's Bay.
We chose to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary with our children, their spouses and grandchildren at your beautiful home on Lake Leelanau. The weather was absolutely beautiful and we truly enjoyed our stay. The house is large enough to accomodate everyone for a large group meal, yet there are many areas to provide private space when desired. (For rocking a tired baby, for example!) The location is perfect for both enjoying kayak rides, fishing, paddle boards and family time spent playing outdoor games, teaching the "grands" the finer points of S'mores making, card playing and family down time enjoying Wimbledon and kids' movies on TV. We did several day trips to Suttons Bay, Glen Arbor, Northport, Leland, and Traverse City during our stay and included hiking, the beach, biking, shopping and sightseeing at the Grand Traverse Lighthouse and Sleeping Bear Dunes. The adult "kids" enjoyed a trip to Hop Lots and checked out Dick's Pour House one evening. We also went as a group to eat at Boonedocks in Glen Arbor and Village Inn Restaurant in Suttons Bay. We enjoyed cooking family meals in the beautiful and well furnished kitchen and also grilling on the deck. We had a wonderful time and were very impressed with the home. It is lovely and clean from top to bottom and a lot of thought and care went into the decorating. When Saturday rolled around, we hated to leave! We would rent this property again in a heartbeat!
This wonderful rental served as the main gathering place for our annual family reunion. It is beautifully furnished, with all provisions needed, even when preparing and serving a meal to 30 people! The owners are very responsive to any questions. The location on Lake Leelanau is excellent, and kayaks and paddle boards provided were well utilized. We are definitely interested in renting this property again.
This house was everything we hoped for and more. We absolutely love Leelanau, and wanted to find a clean and spacious house on the lake for our family and friends - and this was exactly that! We had 12 people sleeping here, and there was no problem fitting us all. The 3 different living rooms allowed us to spread out without being in each other's hair. The house is well appointed, and beautifully decorated. The decks, yard and docks are wonderful as well. We rented a pontoon for the week, and the dock provided us a perfect place to keep it. Furthermore, the provided kayaks, paddle boards and tubes were such a nice amenity!
The location is perfect as well. We were within 10 minutes of more than 10 wineries, 2 breweries and dozens of restaurants. We were also within 10 minutes of Leland and Suttons Bay (two of the best towns in the state), and within 25 minutes of Glen Arbor and North Port. We spent many mornings biking and running on the beautiful roads around the home, and many afternoons sunbathing by the water.
In terms of the house itself, it was very well stocked! The kitchen had plenty of trash bags, paper towel, pots, pans, plates, etc. There were tons of towels, as well as availability of washer/dryer to do laundry. If we had one comment it would be that the water pressure is rather low, and you'll have to be careful not to run the dishwasher / laundry when you want to shower. But in our opinion, that is completely manageable!
Lastly, the owner was incredibly responsive and attentive. We emailed multiple times before and during our stay with questions, and she would always respond within the hour!
If you are heading to Leelanau, this is the place to stay! We will definitely plan to stay here again!
We had a fantastic vacation in Leelanau and it was mostly due to the great accommodations that Beth provides. The house was big and easily accommodated the 8 of us (2 adults and 6 kids). The view from both decks was beautiful. The kids loved all the water toys that came with the house. We rented a pontoon for a few days and the dock accommodated the pontoon nicely. Between the house and the pontoon we really had no reason to ever leave the house. The kitchens were well stocked and we made/ate every meal at the house. While we didn't have any fires we thought it was very nice that the owners had wood available at the house to use. There were plenty of life jackets for the kids. Our expectations were definitely exceeded. I would recommend your home to friends/family who want to vacation in Leelanau.
