About The Owner

We live in Florida and love getting away to the clear mountain air.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2010

Guestbook comments from the owner

I apologized to this guest for the rudeness of the HOA president. I was in contact with her throughout her stay. She admitted that she was dishonest about how many people were in her party - it was over the limit for my cabin. The rules posted in the cabin and sent to all guests in advance clearly states no parking on the grass. I am sorry for her bad experience.

The cabin itself was comfortable and the owner was easy to work with.

While the cabin itself was comfortable and had all the comforts of home, it was not a pleasant trip. I do not recommend staying here if you have children. The HOA president was very rude. He banned us from all outdoor activities because he presumed we had too many people in our party. He embarrassed me in front of my children I had swimming in the pool. Owner had posted in the cabin that only guests are permitted in the pool. HOA indicated only 6 persons at a time permitted in the pool area. He even threatened to call the sherrif. He ignored the fact that other residents had more than the allowed amount of people in the pool area. I would figure my children needed supervision and I was not swimming so we were not over the limit. He complained to the owner of the unit about us having too many cars, people and even where we parked. Perhaps he was confusing other guests as our guests? Needless to say it ruined the trip. We are a larger than normal family, with children ranging in age from 16-2. We saved up for quite some time to take the trip. I don't like to post bad reviews, but if I can help someone avoid the same problems we did, then it was worth it.

Exceeds Expectations!

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful week and great property. It is always a treat when the real thing turns out better than you expect.

This property exceeded our expectations. The attention to detail of utensils in the kitchen, the décor and furnishings, the view from the living area to the view from the back porch, and the landscaping to the river were all spectacular. The pool and work out facilities were enjoyable as well.

The beautiful Hiawassee river provided us with great fishing, and wading in the cool water on a warm day was incredible.

The location of this property is perfect for day trips to Helen, Clayton, Blairsville, Highlands and Franklin. Lake Chatuga is pristine and beautiful. The local produce stands were full of fresh GA/SC produce. The restaurants are plentiful and have really good food.

If you are looking for the ultimate mountain vacation rental property, this is it!

Highly Recommend

  • 5 of 5

This property is perfect for a weekend or week long visit. The furnishings are very comfortable, the kitchen is equipped to allow you to cook in or just reheat your already prepared foods. The dining area seats 10 comfortably and the back deck is huge. I would suggest you take some folding camp chairs to enjoy the riverfront area. The 3 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths were very clean and if you like a firm mattress you will love the beds. The only thing negative is the pillows are not too comfortable but ok. The pool is very close by for a refreshing swim. The owner refunded my security deposit immediately upon departure.

Colorado Springs

Great weekend getaway in the mountains.

  • 5 of 5

The house was very nice. The street it's on is quiet and we didn't get a lot of noise from the road. The field and river behind the house were very peaceful. The master bathroom was really nice but we were so busy enjoying the mtns we didn't get a chance to enjoy the jacuzzi tub. Would highly recommend this house. Owner was very easy to work with.

Wonderful Cabin all the way around! Highly recommendable!

  • 5 of 5

SOOOO CLEAN!!! Everyone agreed, according to the guest book in the cabin. We stay in properties all over the place, all booked on this site. Varying degrees of cleanliness, but I have never seen one like this! My sister and I are clean freaks. We always wipe down the kitchen and bathrooms when we arrive, wash the dishes before we use them, etc. This place looked like someone cleaned themselves out the door.

Besides that, it was in a lovely location. The views were so peaceful and serene. Close to Helen, Hiawassee, Young Harris and most of the other mountain towns. The community was extremely quiet and very well- kept.

Every detail was thought of. All of the utensils you would need in the kitchen, plenty of linens, towels and extra bedding. Homey, yet not cluttered. It looked brand new!

Cannot say enough about this cabin, which is a relief. My sister usually books them and I was happy this was a hit with our whole family.

Thanks for a lovely time!

Just like home

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed the property. The house was very nice and tastefully decorated. The house was very comfortable and it felt like home. We enjoyed fishing, walking along the river, grilling out, and just hanging on the back porch. The weather couldn't have been any better it was 70-80 degrees all week. I do have a suggestions, possibly have outdoor speakers for the back porch. We enjoyed going to Helen for shopping and eating. The only downside to that was its about a 20 minute drive over moutians, we did that several times while down there ( I became an expert of driving over the mountains). Then we visited some of the state parks and got to see some wonderful waterfalls. Overall the cabin was a great place to call home for a week. Judy responded back to me quickly when I had questions. I would recommend this place to anyone!
