It is a quick drive from Phoenix - less than 2 hours from North Phoenix - able to use the cabin year long for skiing & getting out of the heat in the summer - Munds Park is a friendly community where 90% of the homes are vacation homes - our family loves it! Munds Park is the kind of place you can breathe in the fresh air & feel relaxed and at peace - enjoy skiing and snowboarding at Snow Bowl, Shopping in Flagstaff & Sedona - Golfing at Pinewood Country Club - entertaining with friends & family - hiking in the national forrest.
Munds Park is just 20 minutes south of Flagstaff and 35 minutes from Sedona. You can head north to Snowbowl in about 50 minutes & continue on to the Grand Canyon for a nice day trip. Munds Park offers activities for all to enjoy - golf, hiking, fishing, ATV riding and more. Mormon Lake Lodge is just a short drive through the forest
This is a relaxing mountain cabin. Enjoy a wonderful get-away, spend time with family & friends and breathe in the cool air!
Munds Park, AZ - in the Coconino Nat'l Forrest: Our vacation home has new carpeting and includes hardwood floors throughout the kitchen, dinning, entry and bathrooms. The rock fireplace is stunning and includes a supply of firewood in the garage. Our deck has a beautiful view of the lake. We are just across from Lake O'Dell - this is one of the best locations in all of Munds Park! Our home has everything you need to enjoy your vacation.
Features of our Home: The home features a fully equipped kitchen - includes microwave, stove, oven, new refrigerator, and dishwasher. The family room is large with a nice rock fireplace, nice leather couches & comfortable swivel chairs The dining room table seats 6 comfortably & 2 patio tables that seat an additional 8.
Our home sleeps 6 to 8 easily! The master BR has a Queen Size Bed and a washer & dryer in the bathroom, the back bedrooms have one Queen and one Full Sized bed with nice-sized closets - perfect for adults and kids. A portable Full-Sized futon is also available.
Outside Deck: The deck is just off the kitchen with a beautiful view of Lake O'Dell. We actually have a very tall pine tree coming right through the deck! This is by far one of our favorite places to hang out. There are 2 tables on the deck and it's a great place to BBQ, relax and listen to the wind through the great pine trees and watch the squirrels and birds hunt for food.
Our family of four enjoyed four days/three nights here in early April. The cabin was large, well-maintained, and well-furnished. Late vacation planning, and some vacation budget constraints, led us to Munds Park instead of Sedona, but this turned out all for the good. Munds Park is a quiet town village of private cottages, an un-touristy, peaceful place. But it is just a 35 minute drive into Sedona (traffic permitting), where we did our grocery shopping en route to the cabin (there's a Bashas and Safeway), enjoyed several meals (try Tortas de Fuego), and hiked the Brins Mesa and Devil's Bridge trails. Munds Point was also a perfect base for a day trip to the Grand Canyon (arrive early, as the shuttle bus system within the park makes for slow transportation, and to avoid hiking in the heat of the day). In Munds Park itself, we hiked the Crystal Point trail that starts about a 1/2 mile from the cottage in the adjacent national forest (either a 5 of 7.6 mile hike, round trip) and kayaked on the lake in town. Bill was very responsive at all stages, including helping us find a way to get our computers synced with the wifi/internet service.
I stayed there for a few days with my wife, 3 children, and dog. This place has everything you need. Tons of extra towels, the kitchen was very well stocked, and not full of cheap stuff, but things that are nice. It really made the whole experience fantastic. For us, it was way more comfortable and relaxing than a hotel. Being near the lake is great, there are kayaks in the garage, and there is convenience store close that has essentials. Don't be fooled by the location thinking you'll be driving into Flagstaff all the time, you won't be (unless you want to). My five year old was super excited to pull a small catfish out of the lake. I can see us coming back here again.
had a great time
great location for visits to Grand Canyon and Sedona
cabin very nice
disappointed with lack of food/grocery options close by
make sure you shop ahead as there is no grocery stores within 25 miles
This home is very nice. Beautiful lot and view and great outdoor deck. Plus very quite. The home is well appointed and has everything you need to enjoy. We enjoyed our stay and will try and rent this property again.
This was a very nice vacation get a away. The owner was extremely easy to work with, and very helpful. The cabin was well stocked and very comfortable.
The kitchen appeared to be newly remodeled and very user friendly. We were able to cook all of our meals there with ease,.They had a very nice barbecue, we were able to use .
One thing I would remark on is that the carpet in the family room had a lot of stains.
Basically, the cabin was in good shape with the exception of the carpet.
It was advertised to sleep 8. I believe it would sleep 6 comfortably. The futon in the family room could perhaps sleep a small child, but would not be comfortable for two adults.
