New Totally Secluded Romantic Beachfront Cottage on Deserted Beach

Bedrooms 2
Property type house
Minimum Stay 4 - 7 nights

About the property

2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 4

The Duck Inn is proud to announce the arrival of our new addition “Duck Out”.

This charming 2 bedroom, 2 bath home is located on one of the most spectacular pink sand beaches in Eleuthera. Step into an airy, open plan living area tastefully furnished with window seats for relaxing or reading a good book. Just off the living area is a full kitchen with marble counter tops and top of the line appliances including a full size stove, refrigerator, washer/dryer, and dishwasher.

Both bedrooms have queen size beds, split unit air conditioning, and lovely ocean views. One bedroom has an on suite bath.

The 240 square foot deck is just a few steps away from your own 110 feet of personal beach. A spectacular coral reef is only 100 feet off the beach, great for snorkeling or to catch some dinner. There is also a native stone patio behind the house with a barbeque grill and your own little secret garden for relaxing.

Our friendly staff will greet you on arrival and will be available if needed during your stay.

The town of Governors Harbour, the main town on the island, is just 10 minutes from the property. Governors Harbour has grocery stores, restaurants, liquor stores, two banks with ATMs, a bakery, gift shops, a dive shop, and a medical clinic. It has a nice little collection of 19th century homes and churches overlooking a picturesque harbor. You can buy fresh fish and lobster every afternoon from fisherman at the town dock. Friday night Fish Fry in Governors Harbour is a street/beach party that brings together all the tourists and locals with food, drink, and dancing in the street. You won’t want to miss it.

Upscale beachfront restaurants in the area include Pascal’s at Sky Beach Club (International cuisine with Bahamian influences), Tippy’s (international and fusion), 1648 House, and The Rainbow Inn (famous for its steaks and seafood). The above all have live music one or more nights a week, so there is live entertainment somewhere nearby almost every night. The Governors Harbour area also has numerous little takeouts and restaurants offering local cuisine, including Da Perk (coffee shop and sandwiches), The Buccaneer (salads, burgers, wraps), Mate and Jenny’s (pizza and Bahamian) and the Sunset Inn (local cuisine).

average rating of 5.0 based on 3 reviews

Exactly as it looks, beautiful, comfortable, secluded

  • 5 of 5

Lovely new home. Perfect for a get a way. The beach, the breeze, the great eating places close by. In the middle of the island, north and south. Beach goes on for miles and the reefs break up the big waves so it is wonderful on the Atlantic side. Couldn't have enjoyed the place more, will remember this trip for a long time and look forward to going back next year.

Highly recommended

Cozy, secluded, well maintained, clean, quiet beach home. You will have an awesome beach to yourself. Proximity to the local farm and Governors Harbor make logistics easy to manage. All I can say is go for it and enjoy.

Look no further. Stop wasting time online exploring alternatives and click on that "Book Now" button right away. Seriously. Now. You will remember this moment and cherish the days you get to spend in this amazing cottage for the rest of your life. I kid you not. I don't often take the time to sit down to write a review; but this time I just had to. You might be wondering why are there no other reviews and the answer is simple and solid: because the house is brand new! In fact we were lucky enough to be the first couple to stay there. Unbelievable for real. We spent a full week there with my wife and we are already thinking of going back later this year.

Both rooms in the house are really nice and comfortable, bathrooms are also great, and the house in general is super clean and beautiful. You get a wonderful sea breeze around the clock because of its many windows, and it also has fans and air conditioning in case it gets too hot. The open kitchen with the living and dinning room will take your breath away every morning because of the magnificent pristine beach right at your footstep. By the way, Poponi beach is definitely one of the best beaches in the island (maybe even the best), and you have it almost all to yourself; we only saw 5 or 6 people per day walking by the beach. There are only a couple of houses throughout Poponi so I bet this area will become a hotspot in years to come. As much as it is secluded (and definitely romantic) the location is spectacular. North Palmeto Point is a small and quite village, and you are not far from Governors Harbour. In any case you will need a car, no doubt about that, so you can explore both north and south (you have a little over an hour each way).

Finally, you get all the appliances you may need, they are also brand new, and really nice dishes and kitchenware (there is also a BBQ). So head over there as soon as you can, go buy some fresh fish and lobster from the fishermen ramp at Governor Harbour or Tarpum Bay, and cook yourself and your loved ones a meal to die for.

Thanks to Matt and Tara, from VRBO, and especially to Carol, the caretaker. She was helpful and friendly from the very first minute of our arrival till the very last.

Eleuthera is the best! Just go feel the love and enjoy it.
