About the property

House, 7 Bedrooms, 5 Baths, Sleeps 16

This incredible vacation rental home resonates with the history of the founders of Vail, a private hot tub, and space for up to 16 guests.

The bus stop for Golden Peak and Vail is 100 yards from the driveway, making it a great rental for mountain visitors. Cross-country, hiking and snowshoe trails are just steps outside the front door.

Built by a member of the Legendary Tenth Mountain Division, this lovely vacation rental has been visited by luminaries such as President Gerald Ford and Vice President Dan Quayle during its history.

The natural beauty of the surrounding mountains echos inside with reclaimed timbers and siding for a country feel. New hardwood floors brighten up the space.

The expansive living room is upscale warmly decorated. The over-sized adobe fireplace warms the room. There's a flatscreen TV with upgraded cable, a reading area, and inviting couches and chairs.

The lower level of the home features a family room/game room with a large screen TV, full-size pool table, poker / game table, foosball , air hockey and a "Rock Band" setup. It is a family fun headquarters! WiFi and a DVD player are also available, as well as a private hot tub outside! Enjoy some quiet time in the small sitting /reading room off of the game room.

An updated, state-of-the-art kitchen with two ovens and two dishwashers makes preparing epic meals and cleaning up after large gatherings easy. The dining room, which can accommodate up to 16 people, walks out on both sides to the big, wrap-around deck on one side and the enclosed, private court yard on the other.

While holding onto much of its original Vail character and charm, this seven-bedroom home has five newly updated bathrooms. The master bedroom suite and a guest bedroom are on the main level of the home. The main floor also has a "mud room / laundry room" area for storing wet gear, shoes, and boots. Surrounding the family room are two bunk rooms each with two twin bunk beds and three additional bedrooms (two with private bathrooms). Bed types include two king beds, two queen beds, and eight twin beds total. This home can sleep 16 people.

This mountain home is a dream rental for visitors to the mountain slopes, as well as guests looking to shop in Vail Village, or take a day trip to Dillon Reservoir, Blue River, or Glenwood.

Family gatherings or corporate retreats are easy in this large, expansive vacation rental home.

Great location, lots of space

  • 5 of 5

This home was very comfortable with plenty of sleeping space for our large group. The location was great, too. Super close to the shuttle stop, though the bus only comes by every 30 min. We used the local taxi company, they were fast and only about $6 for a ride to Vail village.

We always enjoy staying in this house. It is easy to get on the bus to town and only takes a short ride. The kids like to be able to play outside in the snow.

Great location, great house, poor Vacasa service.

  • 3 of 5

The house is great, lots of space, nice rooms and bathrooms, full equipped kitchen, (recently renewed). Great location, close to the bus a stop and 15 min walk from the village.

The only downside was that we had 3 problems during our stay, and was almost impossible to contact Vacasa to help and fix the problems, after a couple days, the manager went to the house for a regular inspection, and then we able to do something.

Of the 3 problems we had during our stay, one is important enough to mention. The last room near the hot tub, has the boiler inside in a separated closet, the 3rd day of stay we notice a gas smell. After the manager passed by, and do all the test, the room had to be inhabited because of it, hopefully the leak was fixed.
