About Lorraine Schindler or Jim McClenaghan

We are family and close friend owners from NY's Capital Region. We made the purchase after spending several years of renting at The Whiteface Club. Since it can be often available we would like to share it with friends and families who will enjoy it as much as we do.

Lorraine Schindler or Jim McClenaghan purchased this condo in 2007

Why Lorraine Schindler or Jim McClenaghan chose Adirondacks

It goes without saying once you are at Exit 30 life changes, and all your cares melt away. There is nothing like the mountains to rejuvenate and refresh.

What makes this condo unique

Our families enjoy so many aspects of the Lake Placid region. One of the families is on their 11th of the 46 mountain tops, he along with his 11 year old are growing and learning from the magnificent experience. If you can't climb, a ride over to Whiteface will take you to the top of the mountain by elevator, or you can climb a short distance yourself, and get the view from the top.

The teens love the mountains, the boating, the paddle boarding, the fishing, the swimming, the on and on. You could take the commercial boat ride around the lake. Every time we are there we find a new experience. My favorite thing is getting up early, getting my cup of coffee, and going down the road to 'Innerquest Yoga', as a drop in, for a fabulous yoga class.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Wonderful stay

  • 5 of 5

Thanks to Jim for a wonderful few days - the house was beautiful and roomy. The location is great; even close enough for a long walk to downtown LP. The best compliment I can give is that, when considering price, location, and amenities, I would choose this property over the Lake Placid Lodge. Looking forward to another visit (that won’t come soon enough).

Great condo, great location

  • 5 of 5

This condo was perfect for our visit to Lake Placid. It was clean, comfortable and VERY well stocked (better than any VRBO I've stayed in before). Jim was very quick to respond to any questions or needs.

I would absolutely stay here again.

Fantastic vacation home!

  • 5 of 5

I'm a winter-lover and I've wanted to visit Lake Placid in the cold for years. I finally convinced my warm-weather-loving family to take a vacation north, and it was everything I hoped for and more! This condo was the perfect setting for my long-dreamed-of vacation.

This home is well-equipped with everything you might need in any season! The layout is wonderful, and you can even separate the living area from the bedroom area by closing a set of doors, thus allowing TV-watching or game-playing after the "little ones" have gone to bed. The location is convenient to everything you could want to do at Lake Placid, and it's only a short walk to the beautiful waterfront. In addition, this home was IMMACULATELY CLEAN. Truly, it is by far the cleanest home I've ever visited, and we often stay in VRBO homes in various vacation areas. There are abundant towels and warm blankets too. The town is bustling with activities and fun!

The owner was incredibly helpful in recommending places to eat and to visit (if you're a fan of BBQ, don't miss Smoke Signals restaurant!), as well as giving advice for skiing and snow-day activities. He knows the area very well and we appreciated his guidance and advice! The owner is very gracious and accommodating.

I can't wait to visit Lake Placid again in the summer months, too, and I will definitely book this home again when that time comes.

Great Place!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I and our four kids (ages 8-17) had a great long weekend at the Condo. The unit was very comfortable, clean and well stocked. Aside from the fully equipped kitchen, it had a bunch of games, books and videos so after a day out we were all able to relax "at home".

Thew owner was super nice about accommodating us (even when we had to make some last minute changes) and even sent us a long email with his recommendations for places to eat and things to do and see.

We all had a great time and would definitely consider going back.

Cozy condo with beautiful views!

  • 5 of 5

The owner took time to personally introduce himself in an email detailing the amenities of the condo and surrounding area. The condo was clean and well equipped. Our family had a fantastic time ringing in the new year in front of the fire! Lake Placid offers endless activities for everyone and scrumptious cafes and restaurants. Highly recommended!

Enjoyed Our Stay!

  • 5 of 5

The condo was clean and comfortable upon our arrival. The owner called our attention to a broken microwave handle and had the handyman come in the following day to repair it. We visited nearby Saranac Lake, the Olympic facilities and took a day trip to the Adirondack Museum.
