Professional in the city of Ottawa
I have lived here for several months at a time but split living accommodations with a home in Ottawa

This is a unique property that we have rented over the years to rave reviews. Because we are not using it as much as in the past, we are renting it from time to time to select clients
The unique features are the perfectly serene environment. The proximity to the big city with a total feel of being away in nature. No noise except for nature surrounding you
The perfect setting to exchange our vows, my husband and I brought our families together to celebrate on a gorgeous, sunny Sunday afternoon. Everyone knew that the place was in the countryside, no surprises there, and we advised all our guests to wear comfortable shoes and dress as fancy as they’d like for the day. I preferred to keep things simply beautiful - we decorated with wild flowers found along the path - my husband and I walked barefoot, hand in hand, up the stairs from the lake. That morning we relaxed by the lake, accompanied by dragonflies and the tall trees. We settled in, our stress drifted away, and we we’re positively rejuvenated for our big day.
Our hosts made sure we knew where all the amenities were located. They gave clear directions on how to use each major appliance, where the remotes were kept, where to find extra bedding, towels, etc. The gorgeous kitchen and dining area lends itself to sumptuous feasts. The master bedroom is particularly stunning – private balcony over-looking the forest down to the lake, elegant furnishings, California-King bed, and private 3-piece washroom combine to create the essence of luxury.
We hosted as many family members as the house could hold, comfortably - 30 of us altogether, with food served buffet-style and cake and champagne enjoyed on the patio. Our immediate family stayed overnight in the luxurious guest bedrooms. We relaxed in the hot tub, canoed around the lake, listened to the loons call (whoa! Truly a Canadian experience) then took in the silent serenity of the space after all our guests left. Being so far from the city lights, we revelled in the awesome view of the night sky.
It was everything I could have dreamed of for the perfect “destination wedding”. We highly recommend the space to potential clients who want to get away from the city and live like kings and queens for a few magical moments. Thank you for opening your home to us – we’re planning to bring our families together again next summer, making it a lasting tradition!
We rented this cottage for a family reunion and had 3 generations and 18 people stay. There are beds for 12 and teenagers stayed on the ample floor space in the basement level.
The cottage is very well decorated and with lots seating. Magnificent views of the private late surrounded by majestic trees and mountains. The owner was very easy to reach and quickly returned any calls. The photos don't do justice to this cottage. I would recommend this one especially with the proximity to Wakefield and the Gatineau Park. Everyone was impressed. It is quite high up so I wouldn't recommend it for families with young children. I hope it is still available next year. Thanks
A group of 8 women spent a lovely week in this beautiful environment. The well-equipped kitchen, huge deck, and majestic indoor dining area set the scene for festive mealtimes. The huge living room with its comfy furniture and superb fireplace were perfect for wine and conversation. The outdoor living spaces provided for both private times as well as large group gatherings. Being right at treetop level with gorgeous vistas over the lake and forests was stunning.
Besides our daily hikes in Gatineau Park, we took full advantage of the private lake with lots of swimming, kayaking, and paddleboating. The lakeside deck was a bonus spot for either peaceful times or afternoon happy hour.
The wild card in our week was that a massive storm hit the area right before we arrived resulting in no power for a bit of our stay. The hosts were hugely accommodating to ensure our comfort and it only added to our time together - 'glamping' at its best. How rare is it to live in style in the middle of a Canadian wilderness? We felt very fortunate to have spent our week in this incredible setting.

This Is A Perfect Setting For A Large Family
Wonderful Lake No Motor Boats, Great Swimming, Canoeing, Kayaking
Several Km Of Private Trails For Walking/ Xcountry Skiing/ Snow Shoeing. This property is set in nature. There are no manicured lawns. There is sereneness that is rarely found elsewhere. This is not a property for the disabled unfortunately because the property is very hilly and the house has many stairs. There are 100 steps down to the waterfront.
There is a long lane way from Kalalla Road ( about 1000 feet) and in the winter, a 4 wheel drive is preferred. Summer tires will not get you up there in the winter. It is regularly plowed but cannot guarantee that, when there is a winter storm.
