This spacious second floor cottage is nestled on a 2 acre lot right across the street from the beach 'Rockpiles', which is just a couple breaks down from the world famous Banzai Pipeline. This 960 square foot cottage is a perfect couples getaway. Wake up each morning greeted by the welcoming view of the ocean right from your bed. The cottage has 1 bedroom with a queen size bed. It has a large bathroom and grand room that includes a dining area; beautiful kitchen that is equipped with a full size refrigerator, microwave, large toaster/convection oven, hot plates, coffee maker, blender, rice pot, cooking utensils and dishes (no stove); and a living room with a pull out sofa bed and a day bed that doubles as a twin size bed. Double french doors open out onto a large covered porch with seating area and table and benches. The staircase empties out into a private yard which is equipped with a gas barbeque and picnic table for outside dining. A small laundry area houses a washer/dryer along with 2 beach chairs, snorkels, beach toys, and 2 bicycles.
There is a great bike path across the street that is over 2 1/2 miles long and takes you past all the amazing beaches the North Shore has to offer. It is a pleasant 1 mile ride to a large grocery store and several lunch wagon restaurants. In the opposite direction and a little over a mile away is Ted's Bakery, an island famous bakery.
The cottage was great! Easily walkable to Banzai Pipeline beach and easy drive to Shark's Cove, Waimea Valley, Sunset beach, food trucks and Foodland grocery store. The cottage was spacious for two, quiet, clean, and has a gorgeous backdrop with the lush, green hills. There is a window AC unit in the bedroom, which was great as it did get hot and humid. The only complaint is that the TV service would go in and out occasionally but generally would come back in a few minutes time. Definitely recommend spending time on the North Shore when visiting Oahu and the Cozy Cottage was an excellent place to stay. Thanks for having us!
My wife and I booked this cottage because her brother and his girlfriend were visiting us. The cottage is very clean and well kept. Usually when we stay at a hotel my wife has to wipe down everything because she is afraid of it all being dirty. She didn't feel the need to do that in this cottage and that in itself is a huge endorsement. What impressed us the most is the owners of the cottage. We had a personal matter come up and could only spend 1 out of the 2 days we had booked. Mele actually refunded us the 2nd day! She didn't have to do that and it really shows how great they are. If you are looking for a clean, nice place that is right near the beach, look no further. You will not be disappointed. If we ever want to spend a few days in the North Shore, this will be the first place I look.
Beautiful view of the sunset right from the lanai, where we also enjoyed our morning coffee. Very easy access to the beach, far from the hustle and bustle of the big city, yet close enough to shopping and amenities to not make it a hassle. Activities are nearby: hiking, Polynesian Cultural Center, zip lines, city of Haleiwa, Dole Plantation. Hosts were attentive when needed, and otherwise respectful of privacy. Perfect.
Since there is no AC, the windows MUST be open full time, which can be a little noisy at early bed time. The Kamehameha highway is fairly close (35mph), and the local roosters start in really early in the morning, normally going full tilt by around 0430. Bring ear plugs or noise cancelling headphones if this is an issue for you. We got used to it.
The use of the laundry, and provided supplies, was a super convenience, as was access to other appliances, including a safe for personal belongings. The hosts even provide several DVD's to watch on a rainy afternoon. Sweet!
We had a very pleasant stay in the generous cottage at the North Shore. The location of the cottage is perfect. It is just across from a large beach, where you can enjoy a scenic view of the sunset. Just some minutes away you will find coffee shops, restaurants or the Foodland. We recommend also the foodtrucks, especially the Thaitruck next to the Foodland!
The cottage has a large lanai with a partial view on the beach. Everything one could ask for, like beach chairs, bikes or a washing machine and dryer, is provided in the cottage. We often used the bikes, to get to all of the famos beaches, like sunset beach, waimea bay or Pupukea, which is great for snorkeling. It is very convenient to have bicycles, as the beaches are very busy during the day and you will struggle to find a free parking space.
We would definitely recommend this condo if you are planning to stay at the North Shore of Oahu!
Perfect cottage and location for our family of four. Everything was in very good condition and the owners had provided us with a lot of useful information in the welcome book. A quick walk across the road to beautiful Sunset Beach. Only a mile down into "town" and the Foodland store. We went diving at Sharks Cove and Three Tables which were so easily accessible. A great location for the few nights that we were on the North Shore.
We are located just over one mile past Waimea bay, continuing past our house is Pipeline (1/4 mile) and Sunset beach (1 mile).
