Overview

About the property

$175 a night for 1-2 guests. $25 a night for additional guests.

This spacious second floor cottage is nestled on a 2 acre lot right across the street from the beach 'Rockpiles', which is just a couple breaks down from the world famous Banzai Pipeline. This 960 square foot cottage is a perfect couples getaway. The cottage has 1 bedroom with a queen size bed. It has a large bathroom and grand room that includes a dining area; beautiful kitchen that is equipped with a full size refrigerator, microwave, large toaster/convection oven, hot plates, coffee maker, blender, rice pot, cooking utensils and dishes (no stove); and a living room with a pull out sofa bed and a day bed that doubles as a twin size bed. Double french doors open out onto a large covered porch with seating area and table and benches. The staircase empties out into a private yard which is fenced with a 6 foot wooden privacy fence. The cottage yard is equipped with a gas barbeque and picnic table for outside dining. A small laundry area houses a washer/dryer along with 2 beach chairs, snorkels, beach toys, and 2 bicycles.

There is a great bike path across the street that is over 2 1/2 miles long and takes you past all the amazing beaches the North Shore has to offer. It is a pleasant 1 mile ride to a large grocery store and several lunch wagon restaurants. In the opposite direction and a little over a mile away is Ted's Bakery, an island famous bakery.

Charming cottage without the promised view

  • 4 of 5

I booked based on the description of having an ocean and beach view, The peekaboo ocean view is only seen from living room. However, the cottage is exceptionally clean and has a lot of charm. The deck is surrounded by trees with a variety of birds. A fabulous beach is right across the road. Adjacent to family home-not private if this is important to you,.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the reminder to trim our trees. Due to the large amounts of rain this spring our trees have grown and obstructed the ocean view from the cottage. Time to do some summer pruning!!

Great beach retreat

  • 5 of 5

Such an open, bright and airy beach bungalow. Very clean, lots of ammenities, beach is steps away, and so close to local attractions. Loved the goats and chickens. Definitely stay here again, no doubt.

Very pleasant stay

  • 4 of 5

Great place for families or couples. The cottage is just as shown in the pictures. The kitchen is very well supplied with cookware, cook top, electric grill, etc. We had no problem cooking a few simple meals. There is a portable AC unit in the bedroom but the cottage would benefit from AC in the living room area; the afternoon sun can get hot but it was usually ok with just ceiling fans. Bed is comfortable and they supplied a folding crib for our infant. Plenty of towels & sheets. Laundry is downstairs (outside) and was very helpful. Sorry to have to leave!

Lots of natural light! Beautiful breeze 2nd week of April. Second story truly feels like a treehouse! Well supplied. We read reviews for weeks before choosing. This cottage was perfect.

great location; great place

  • 5 of 5

My husband and 2 kids had a great and relaxing visit to the North Shore in this great house. Spacious, clean, nicely decorated (but not stuffy). The location (across the street from the Banzai Pipeline!) and near other attractions (Waimea Falls) made it fun. We sat on the porch for hours drinking coffee (and wine) and staring at the mountain behind us, the goats in front of us or the ocean (glimpses between the trees) to the side. We spent a total of 7 nights on Oahu with 5 on Waikiki and 2 in this house. Wish it was flipped! Highly recommend.

Best family vacation-love this cottage!!!

  • 4 of 5

This place was a cozy, clean place to stay. It was perfect for my family of four. The baby goats were so cute. The beaches were just a few steps across the street. You can see the waves and feel the breeze. Mele the owner was very friendly and helpful. We stayed 7 days and can't wait to return. Yes you can hear the chickens in the morning, but from what we could see, chickens are everywhere in Hawaii. So chances are wherever you stay you will hear them :).
