4 Bedroom villa and cottage sleeps 8 set in private gardens close to the beach

Large private Spanish traditional style villa & cottage set in 2000 square meters of private grounds with large 6m by 3m private swimming pool. The main villa consists of two bedrooms one double and one twin room, bathroom with toilet , bath and overhead shower, open plan kitchen & lounge area with English T.V. satellite system.There is a separate utility room with washing machine.There is a large gated private driveway suitable for two vehicles.The villa has a large outdoor patio area which overlooks the pool and garden area.

The cottage which is set at the other end of the swimming pool has also two bedrooms both twins with separate bathroom with shower, toilet and wash hand basin. The cottage has a lounge & small breakfast kitchen with fridge /freezer. The villa is 5 minutes walk to the nearest supermarket and 10 minutes walk to restaurants and the beach.

The towns of Torre de la Horadada and Pilar de la Horadada are a few minutes drive away with many restaurants, bars and shops.

Villa Sogo - Mil Palmaras

This particular accommodation is perfect for a large family with amenities nearby. The supermarket, bars, restaurants, pharmacy, bank and the beach are only a short walk away and if you fancy a proper shopping spree then La Zenia Boulevard is ideal (taxi, 10 mins away) The villa itself suited us for the price we paid and Stanley was on hand when a problem arose. The issue we had was that the gate became stiff which required a new lock and the lovely Stanley sorted it instantly. Lovely late night market stalls near the seafront, spot on hospitality from the Spanish waiters/waitresses. Definitely considering going back next year.

BEAUTIFUL

Sorry, forgot to write review after our stay, but having read the latest one I just had to write ours! Unless the property has degenerated excessively between July and October, I think the review was pretty harsh. Yes, the property was a little dated but apart from a couple of kitchen utensils, it had everything we needed for 4 adults and 3 young children. We had a small leak in the bathroom which was attended to quickly, the property was very clean when we arrived, and we had no difficulty preparing and cooking meals in the kitchen for 7 of us. The kitchen wasn't massive but it was adequate for our needs.

The area is beautiful, very short level walk to a great supermarket, beach, bank, pharmacy, etc and because of the heat, we used to take our cabin cases on wheels to load the shopping into. Genius!

Stanley was really helpful and the pre-arranged airport transfers were brilliant as we didn't then need a hire car for our stay. (If you are smokers, make sure you take plenty as the nearest tobacconist is about 45 minutes walk away!!)

There are very few villas so conveniently placed as this one and with such a large, private garden. We all agreed it was the best holiday any of us had ever had. Total relaxation. OK, don't expect the Ritz internally but it's clean, pleasant and more than acceptable in our opinion. The children spent the whole time in the pool which was cleaned regularly and it goes without saying at any pool, you need to be careful walking on tiles with wet feet. Our children just took extra care on the steps etc.

The only thing that has prevented us from re-booking is the absence of air conditioning - it was quite hard going during the very hot weather. If this is one day installed, we'll be back I'm sure!

Be sure to check out the street market near the beach on certain days, it's lovely and traditional with loads of handmade products.

Owner's Response: Dear Natalie , Thank you for you review , the villa is an older traditional style building, for the larger family it represents super value for money , it is not the Ritz but it has everything necessary for a great holiday and location is excellent. As the villa tends to get larger families with lots of children it does tend to get a bit more wear and tear than most however the villa has a full spring clean , maintenance check, equipment replacement and painting as necessary every winter. The villa is fitted with fans in all the rooms , air conditioning in this type of property is quite difficult to fit unfortunately the electrical installion in older spanish houses is not quite the same as modern houses in the U.K. but I will give it consideration for the future , we have had many clients stay in the property without problems and have many return clients . The main kitchen is more than adequate and has all the electrical goods replaced for new at the beginning of the 2012 season . The pictures on the website where taken in April 2012 and whilst the villa had a busy season has not suffered much change over the year,so I also feel the previous comments where harsh but you cannot please everyone I suppose. The villa is under a constant maintenance program and any problems are quickly and efficiently dealt with.The kitchenette in the cottage is only for making a cup of tea /toast in the morning and there is loads of crockery , perhaps the previous people didnt look in the correct cupboard and the washing machine works fine , it was also renewed last year. The villa offers good value budget holidays for larger families even in peak season, for a family of 8 people costing £17 per day per person , I look forward to meeting you and have a great time as many people do. Spacious but very run down and outdated

The villa has loads of outdoor space, but it is really rundown so beware. The main villa bathroom leaks on the floor, the washing machine was broken, the floor tiles deadly slippery and virtually no crockery to speak of. We resorted to buying paper cups & plates. We had 2 bowls between 8 of us.

The cottage does not have a kitchen, it has a sink & electric ring in a cupboard. You have to boil the kettle on the floor as there is no workspace.

Cabinets & units are very basic with blown wood & mould in the bathrooms.

Tiles are lifted around the pool and a hazard & the palm trees are all dead from beetle infestation but not cut down & left to rot.

It was dirty inside & out - the BBQ was disgusting & I wouldn't feed my dog from it. Lounger cushions were too dirty to sit on.

As long as you are prepared for all this you'll have a good time. It's in a good location & the area is fantastic.

In the summer be prepared for lack of air conditioning, although there's lots of shade in the garden from the trees.
