Quaint hidden gem.
Good layout, quiet, clean and comfortable and very well located for shops and transport.
Quiet retreat south of the Thames
We stayed in the Gate House, a very private, quiet, and secure single apartment on a courtyard with a few other apartments. It's a few blocks from the High Street (Waitrose, Marks and Spencer, many restaurants), and within walking distance of a Tube stop on the District line.
Clean, comfortable, spacious, laid out well, GREAT shower. We were welcomed and shown around and given all necessary information at the prearranged time. An excellent facility with friendly and helpful landlord.
Good area, good accommodation
We enjoyed our stay in the Gate House. We were 3 and it suited our needs very well. It was clean and functional and very handy to Putney shops/restaurants etc. There is lots to explore in Putney and transport to London West End is good.
Charming property tucked away from the big city.
This lovely property met our needs perfectly! It was very secure and comfortable for the four adults in our group.
We had some of the warmest weather of the summer, but the owners stocked us up with fans so we "carried on". This property is not air conditioned, as the weather is usually cool and comfortable. We only had one rather warm night, after that we were fine.
The flat is a good size with one nice bathroom (shower only), a kitchen with new appliances, a comfortable living room, and two bedrooms. My favorite appliance was the all-in-one washer/dryer. Though for smaller loads it does a good job! There is also a huge TV in the living room and a charming fireplace.
The landscaping on the property is beautiful. Massive wisteria vines run the length of the roof on both sides of the courtyard and many lovely potted plants frame the windows.
Parking was not an issue for us because we used the nearby "Tube", trains and buses to get around.
The village of Putney was only a couple of blocks away from the flat. Loads of Pubs, restaurants and stores were close by. Lots of great neighborhoods to walk through- a fun walk is to go down to the Thames on the weekend and watch the rowing clubs practice.
It was so much more enjoyable to spend a week living in a neighborhood rather than staying in a hotel!
And this flat was a great way to do it!
convenient, clean, roomy
Location is great for us. Meets our needs perfectly. This was our second stay and hope to return soon.
Great location. Lovely house.
