Hi, my name is Judy Sublett Lane. I now reside in California with my husband Brenton. My homeplace, where I spent many of my teens years, is available now as a Vacation rental property so that others can find the peace and comfort that I had when much younger. I want to share that special joy, that I had when I lived there, with others.
Sue Bostic purchased this house in 2008
This property was given to me by my parents who have now passed away. So it will be such a joy to have others find love, laughter and good times like I remember when the Sublett family lived there. My parents built the house in 1968.
We have worked on the house and have made it very comfortable and clean for our guest. It is situated right in the middle of the Christmas tree farm that my father started 50 years ago. It holds a special place in my heart and will always be home to me. I want to share that with you and your family. Please enjoy your stay as if I was there to welcome you and to say 'make yourself feel right at home.'
I have been meaning to comment about your Sublett Place, but did not see a section to do it.
My family thoroughly enjoyed staying at The Sublett Place. The cleanliness was incredible. The kitchen was well stocked with equipment. My 81 year old mother was very comfortable!
I loved having the cottage available also. Staying at this home made my daughter's wedding weekend more enjoyable ( even though it rained the whole time!)
Everyone we met in the area were helpful and friendly.
Our whole family was coming into town for our daughter's graduation from VaTech. We wanted a place to enjoy hanging out together but still convenient to the campus. This was perfect. We had everything we needed to cook breakfast in the morning and dinner in the evening. The owners even supply coffee fixings which was a nice surprise. The beds are already made and plenty of towels provided. We also found that the owner was very responsive whenever we needed to make contact during the reservation process. We'd definitely stay again should the need arise. Oh, and we loved all the attention to the grounds with the herb garden and lots of flowers blooming.
I had a college reunion with 7 other friends to watch our alma mater (Maryland) play Va Tech. We wanted a place where we could gather to eat, play cards and just catch up. And this place was perfect. There were pullout couches, the place was clean and it was in a remote area but not far from campus. I'd give it 4 1/2 stars if I could only because there are only 2 bathrooms (with a window where you can sort of see through one bathroom into the other) and because you can't get cellphone service (but they do have wifi). But other than that, it was an ideal place.
We came down for family weekend at the college. It was great to bring our student "home" for the weekend. Very relaxing for her and she was able to get a break from campus. We visited Joes Trees again and enjoyed picking pumpkins and ghourds for fall. Wonderful mountain views and the stars at night and sunrise were great, wonderful pictures taken. After campus activity during the day we bought food and cooked meals at the home. The home is very inviting. We have younger children also who enjoyed board games. They also brought their homework and finished it at the house. Truly home away from home. My children love staying here. What a treasure.
My wife and I stayed for a long weekend with our two small dogs and enjoyed it very much.
The place was immaculate and very comfortable.
Great place to stay if you want some peace and quiet. Very good local restaurants. Especially the Mexican eateries.
I will recommend it to my friends and would definitely stay there again.
What a great location to enjoy with the family. Very clean. We will be staying here again when we pass through. The kids enjoyed the freedom to run and play. Beautiful scenery over looking the farm across the road. I highly recommend this comfortable house.
I was needing so bad to get away from my home and have some me time! I was so tired of the every day hassle's of life, I thought if only I could run away I would. I decided to go stay a week at The Sublett Place. I found the place just as I thought it would be! Every thing there was just as I hoped it would be! The place was so clean that I didn't even feel the need to clean at all! I truly had the best trip of my life. I watched from the porch all the beauty that surrounded me! The nights were so private and the days were just perfect.. I had the perfect quite time that I needed. I went into town and found it most interesting the restaurants were real good, but I did cook just as if I were in my home. The Sublett Place had everything I needed to prepare anything! I would recommend this place to anyone who loves the real world and the nature of the surroundings is just too awesome! I just know I will return there for the trip of my life time that I truly enjoyed!
