The Riviera del Brenta is a place rich in history and natural beauties and offers visitors a wide range of itineraries and attractions among which to choose for an unforgettable stay: not only the sumptuous villas along the Brenta river, ideally connected to Venice Gran Canal and witnessing the ancient Serenissima's power, but also the many churches and fortresses of the territory.
Traditional fairs along the river Brenta
A surprisingly rich carnet of events to enliven the Riviera all year long: not only traditional festivals and local fairs, masked parades by boat and local 'tastes' but also important exhibitions and concerts!
Among the most important events to take place in the beautiful setting of the Riviera del Brenta is the 'Blooming Riviera',a parade on the placid waters of the Brenta River.
In the year 1574 Henry III, king of France, descended along the Brenta Riviera to meet the Doge of Venice at the Contarini Villa dei Leoni. It is this important historical episode that the traditional riverside event of Riviera Fiorita re-enacts, for the twenty-sixth time, Sunday the 14th of September 2004.
The placid waters of the Brenta, with its historical mansions and lush gardens, act as a frame for several hundred vessels, parade boats, 'bissone' and 'caorline', with over 1100 extras, rowers and musicians - all in costume.
By boat along the river:
slipways, gangways and landing stages
The network of rivers and canals has linked the villages of the Riviera for thousands of years. There are dozens of canal locks, swing bridges, quaysides, gangways, jetties, slipways and sloping banks: the fully-equipped system that means you can enjoy the Brenta in the oldest and most fascinating way: by boat.

My family of four stayed at Marco & Paola's apartment this summer, and everything was perfect. Our hosts were friendly and helpful, and we had everything we needed. We enjoyed Mira - there were lots of shops and restaurants very close by, to walk to - and liked the proximity to Padua and Verona, as well as Venice.
The apartment was clean, quiet, and very comfortable. It was a lovely place to stay, and we'd love to return someday!
We had a wonderful time in Marco & Paola's apartment. It is very large, clean, and comfortable. They are very kind, responsive and helpful hosts! They went out of their way to be sure we enjoyed our stay. The apartment is a very short walk to the bus which will take you right into Venezia. It was nice to be so near to, but not be staying with all the crowds. Would also be a great location for visiting Padova (Padua) and Verona, however we did not stay long enough to visit. We will certainly keep this apartment in mind for a future visit. Grazie!
We (2 adults + 1 kid) stayed in this apartment for 4 nights during second week of June 2011 for our visit to Venice. Few good points about the apartment:
1. excellent location for comuting to Venice, Padova, Stra by bus. The bus stop located very close to the apartment (about 70 m) and also the train station is few hundred meter away.
2. supermarket, fruit shop, pizza resturents, medicine shop, bank, etc all are very close to the apartment.
3. owner Paula and her husband was very friendly and helpful.
4. the apartment is big and well equiped kitchen.
5. lots of books, CDs and toys/books for Kids
A copuple of comments for further improvement:
1. shower place was not very clean
2. the sofa cover in the drawing room was also not very clean
We definitely enjoyed our stay there.
