We love historic homes and live in one ourselves. We have raised 4 children, 3 still at home and appreciate the need to have a place to just relax. We love the historical context of the John Misener Jr. house, located on the original battle of Lundy's Lane. Ralf, who is a finish carpenter has a passion for restoring historic homes, and has worked on historic homes mainly in NOTL. We want to make sure that those that come here have the choice to enjoy the peacefulness and beauty of the property or go to be a part of all the action not too far. Enjoy drinks on the front porch, or chill in the back yard while something is cooking on the BBQ.
Maria Rosenkranz purchased this house in 2011
John Misener Jr. was the son of the original carriage maker of Drummondville, who worked with his father in the trade. The home as been lovingly maintained by the next owners, and then ourselves. We gave the house all the up to date amenities while maintaining it's historic charm. The 1700 sq ft house with 220+ foot lot gives you lots of space to relax indoors or out. While staying, you will discover old and new; every room has something from the past that you can discover.
We fell in love with this house because of the historical importance, the unique and original architecture and the meandering gardens, outbuildings on the property. The people who lived here cared about the property and only sold it to us knowing that we would respect it's integrity. You can see the fireworks over the falls from the front, or you can walk 10 min to the falls to see them close up.
This house is amazing. With many original features, but extremely well taking care of. You can notice loving care of the owners everywhere - little details that make the house very homey and welcoming. The bedding is super soft and comfortable. Kitchen has all you can possibly need. Vintage yet very clean bathroom. Nice peaceful garden. What a treat to us!!! Thank you, we really enjoyed our stay. Quiet street yet walking distance to Niagara Falls. How perfect is that. I hope to come back one day.
We had a wonderful 1st time VRBO experience. Maria and Ralf were very nice and informative. The house itself is lovely and roomy. We had six people, my husband and I, my parents, and my two kids (10 and 11). It was well equipped and Maria and Ralf went the extra mile to provide extra towels and use of a slow cooker. The neighborhood is cute and quiet, and close to the WEGO bus line which was super convenient. We enjoyed a tour of the wineries thanks to Ralf's directions and my kids loved feeding Waldo the Cat every morning! Would absolutely recommend!
Maria and Ralph were excellent hosts! Their house is old and has with it wonderful charm. Located just under a mile from Skylon tower and just over a mile to the falls, the location can not be beat. BBQ, stocked kitchen, lots of old books to read, games for the kids, WiFi, large driveway and a place to keep bikes safe. This home is an excellent alternative to cookie cutter hotels. Thanks for the memories!
This is the perfect place to stay for your family vacation to Niagara Falls! I stayed there with my husband, two kids, my parents, and my sister. Seven of us total and the house was roomy and spacious and perfect. The weather was awful during our vacation and it was so nice to have a shared place to be, not separated in three different hotels rooms. My kids thought this old house was the best place ever to play hide and seek, and the grown-ups enjoyed all of the amenities the house had to offer. Maria and Ralf have worked hard to make sure everything you need is provided. There are tons of dishes, linens, cooking supplies, take-out menus, business cards, maps, local area information, and so much more.
We had a great vacation at this house and would certainly stay there again next time we go to Niagara Falls.
Very clean, very friendly and helpful owners. Close to all sightseeing attractions. Nice atmosphere
We really loved this historice house and it was perfectly situated just on the edge of the mini-las vegas called Niagara Falls! The home is set in an idyllic location. Very quiet, yet just a short walk to all of the sights!
We have rented homes all over the world and this one has been by far the most equipped! Paper towels, TP, trash bags, seasonings, all sorts of cooking implements and even cleaning products. There were loads of dish towels, hand towels, bath towels and extra sheets, blankets and pillows! The beds were comfortable and even with only 1.5 bathrooms our party of 5 were all "at home". We were in town for the Niagara Falls Women's Half Marathon - a supberbly organized event! I recommend the race and the house!
Located in Historic Drummondville, 15 min walk to falls, casino; great biking and rollerblading trails along Niagara parkway; 5 min walk to museum. Short drive to outlet shopping; floral clock, butterfly conservatory; 20 minutes to heart of wine country.
