Sandpepple is quiet friendly condo ideally situated on the Sanibel river and across the street from the beautiful beaches of Sanibel. This 1400 square foot non smoking unit sits on the top floor of a 4 story complex providing views over Sanibel island. It is located across from the well known Sundial Resort with beach access a short walk away. The beaches are world famous for shelling with the warm gulf water providing a enjoyable playground. Across the Sanibel river is the 18 hole public Beachview Golf and Tennis Club which you overlook from either the top floor front balcony or you can walk down stairs to the beautifully landscaped outdoor patio. There is a large screened in lanai where you can enjoy your meals or refreshment and a peek a boo view of the gulf. The complex offers a Internet access (WIFI), heated swimming pool, tennis court and gas BBQ's for your grilling needs. The unit is fully furnished with a full kitchen, large living room and separate dining room. It sleeps 4-6 with a king size bed in master bedroom with patio door access to the lanai, two twin beds in second bedroom. A sofa bed is also available in living room. The property is ideally situated in the middle of the island, close to shops, restaurants and numerous paths to enjoy long walks or bike rides. With our unit we offer the use of 2 bikes, 4 tennis rackets and all linens and beach towels provided. For sports/fitness enthusiasts you have unlimited recreational opportunities from rental of kayak/canoe to ready access to the Sanibel recreational facilities. An elevator in the complex makes it easy to get up and down and you get to enjoy the peace of the top floor.

My family which includes me and my husband and two sons who are 17 and 22 years old stayed on Sanibel Island the week of Christmas. The condo was extremely clean, very well decorated, and had everything we could have asked for and more . The layout of the condo was perfect and the decorating was very tastefully done. The beds were clean and very comfortable. The bathrooms were also very clean and both had fresh linens. We prepared many meals in the kitchen and had every utensil, dish, and plate we could have ever needed. There was also a shared coin operated washer and dryer on the first floor that we used twice. The pool was very nice and mostly very quiet which we enjoyed. We also enjoyed the screened in lanai for many meals and playing cards. They were many extra amenities which were a very nice touch including; two bikes, beach chairs, a couple frisbees and a football for the beach, beach towels and there was even a bottle of laundry detergent . The owners of this condo were very prompt and courteous and returned emails in a very quick fashion. The location was also perfect just a couple minute walk across the street to a beautiful beach. This is a beautiful condo on a beautiful island !
I have to admit that in a lot of ways, the photos of this property do not do justice to how nice it is. The owner's remodel was fantastic, done with an eye toward comfort, function and class. There is nothing that is terribly over-the-top, but everything in the condo was new, clean and well apportioned.
We have stayed in several VRBO properties in many locations over the years, and this was probably the best that we have used at this price point. This was our first time to Sanibel, so it served as a great place to base our trip from.
The kitchen and living area is very large and open. The kitchen has all new appliances, and there are two options for eating: a breakfast bar or dining room. The living room has a large couch and love seat, as well as a matching seat, so there is plenty of room for a large group to sit. We did not sit outside on the screened patio much because of the June weather, but the patio furniture is very comfortable with room for four.
The master bedroom has a very comfortable king-sized bed, and one of the details that they got right were having nice quality linens and high-end pillows (not hotel-like pillows that go flat on you halfway through the night). There is plenty of drawer space, as well as a nice closet, so you can put everything away that you have for your stay. The second bedroom has two twin beds and was perfect for our four-year old. He was thrilled to have his own bedroom and bathroom with large tub, and we enjoyed having a large stand-up shower.
We were very happy to have beach chairs, plenty of beach towels and two umbrellas provided for us. There were also a couple of sand toys, and we left a couple of small shovels for children to dig with, as well. The walk to the beach (best to go out of the elevator, turn left and through the grass to the left of the Sandial's tennis courts) took 5-7 minutes, and it was very easy. There is a nice boardwalk from the hotel over the dune area and was not a big strain even with plenty of beach gear.
There was plenty of everything at this location. They had a litany of flatware, dishes and glassware in the kitchen, towels in the bathrooms and laundry and dishwasher supplies. We stopped at a supermarket on the way from the Ft. Myers airport to stock up on food, and you can also supplement with stops at the island's two grocery stores. Bailey's at the Sundial across the street was also a good place for sundries and small items.
All in all, a great place for our trip!
Everything was just as pictured and described. Beautifully decorated, great location. We enjoyed every minute. A nice surprise was the small Bailey's store located at the Sundial across the street for lunch, beer or snacks. The restaurant at the Sundial was great over looking the Gulf. Enjoyed breakast and dinner there. But, enjoyed the peace and quiet at the Sandpebble. Other recommended restaurants- The Fish House ( coconut shrimp), Doc Fords (Yucatan shrimp tacos), Timbers- ( oysters, shrimp tacos) Captiva Inn for special dinner, Sweet Melissa's for breakfast. Also recommend the Sea Shell museum and the Ding Darling wildlife refuge.
This is the perfect rental on Sanibel. The condo is very comfortable and completely updated. Nice extra amenities like beach chairs, swim masks, extra laundry soap, beach towels, ect. The outside is nicely landscaped and the heated saltwater pool is always at the perfect tempature. Just across the street from the gulf to go shelling in the morning. It has a beautiful view on the balcony of a river and golf course, and being on the fourth floor you get the full view. Lots of birds and occasional alligators to watch. My family could not have been happier and we will definitely be back. Thanks again to the owners!
My husband and I just returned from a wonderful week at this sandpebble condo! We spent our week riding bikes around the island, walking the beach, and enjoying the great shops and restaurants of Sanibel and Captiva. This condo is in a wonderful location, a short bikeride or car ride to everything you could want, it's decorated beautifully, and includes everything you need to enjoy the beach!
My recommendations: stay here, go to the farmers market on Sunday morning, take a drive to Captiva to enjoy the sunset and eat at Mucky Ducks and RC Otters, and enjoy Sanibel's seashells and charm!
