Why Melissa Swanstrom chose Homosassa
I was attracted to this home even before it was put on the market. When I bought it, it was in really bad condition. I gutted the whole inside and everything in it is brand new. Very comfortable and spacious home.
What makes this House unique
It was originally built as a church in 1945 and sometime in the 1980's the church sold it and it was turned into a home.

Amazingly cute place to stay
The pics do not do this place justice. Its very roomy and has a great family room. It has a lot of room for the kids to run around outside too. We enjoyed it very much.
You Won't Be Disappointed
We were fortunate to stay at the Church House for the month of January. We had never been to Homosassa, much less heard of it . . . We were enamored with the Old Florida feel of the area which also contains a lot of history. This property is located in the central part of Old Homosassa and was within walking distance (for us) to many of the local restaurants & pubs, and, of course the Homosassa River & Monkey Island. The house is emmaculate and newly renovated throughout. The the main gathering area of the house is perfect for entertaining & boasts a wonderful kitchen with granite countertops. The newly added screened in patio was especially nice (which is in addition to the enclosed lanai). The master bedroom California king sized bed was so comfy. This is probably the best property in Old Homosassa, and I can find nothing to complain about. It was well-stocked with linens, kitchen utensils, cleaning supplies, washer-dryer. In fact, the weather got quite cold during our visit and the heating system worked great. My only wish would be that there was some sort of recycling program available within the town. I would highly recommend the Church House --- you will not be disappointed.
This house was terrific. Well stocked and great location. Screen porch is lovely - lots of room and furniture. Kitchen has all the utensils and cooking supplies you would need. We cooked our Thanksgiving meal here with no problem. Great for a small family gathering. Master bedroom is separated from the main house by the porch. That was nice as we were all adults.
Great place! Walked three blocks to everything!
Wonderful visit. Great parking, lots of towels :-) stocked kitchen supplies....Very quick response time
Staying in Florida at the old Church House.
Excellent place to stay for a visit to downtown Homosassa. The home was pristine and clean. We walked to several wonderful restaurants and saw a great Christmas Boat Parade at the docks too. The kids love the old church house and all in all we had a wonderful stay. Thanks!
Really nice place
Great house, Judy was really easy to work with. Really nice stay.
This home is walking distance to several local restaurants, bars and a fresh seafood market if you prefer to cook. It is not located on the water but is 3 blocks from public boat ramp. You can also rent boats, canoes and kayaks 3 blocks away. You can drive to Crystal River, 7 miles, and visit Indian mounds, small mall and several other restaurants.
