About the property

Sleeps 6. Perfect for couples and families all year round.

Situated in a quiet pretty rural location The Barn has been converted into a 4 bedroom cosy and warm holiday home. The interior is a combination of traditional oak beams; comfy sofa's but with a modern country kitchen providing all the facilities to make sure your stay is stress free.

The ground floor is open plan and provides plenty of space for a cool haven in the summer or a cosy intimate ambience on those cooler evenings when you choose to light the wood burner. There is also electric central heating available. There is a utility room, with washing machine, and separate WC on the ground floor.

The first floor provides a large double bedroom with a king size bed, and two single rooms, all with plenty of wardrobes and drawer space. There is a large family bathroom with a lovely corner bath and hand shower. Towels and bed linen are all included.

The landing has a lovely peaceful area where you can just sit in a comfortable Queen Anne chair and take in the view and relax. (Always a favourite quiet area with our guests).

A small staircase takes you to the third floor to the 2nd double bedroom. The kids always find this fascinating as they feel it’s a hide away from the grown ups!

Outside you have large safe garden, BBQ, patio table and chairs, and sun loungers.

The heated swimming pool and terrace are available from June to September. These facilities are shared with the our other holiday home, listed separately, The Cabin at Les Basses Beaulinges, listed separately. Groups bookings using both properties are welcome.

The immediate surrounding area provides peaceful walks in all seasons. The Chase (tree lined avenue) is beautiful at all times of the year from an abundance of the first signs of spring with all the buds, an arch of green foliage in summer to the gorgeous golden and red autumn leaves as winter approaches. Here you can take an invigorating stroll where you can observe the local wildlife. This could include deer, bunnies and birds; there are a lot of buzzards and hawks in the area. Don’t forget the cows who will always be curious as you stroll by.

Take a look at the video to see an overall view of the property and immediate surrounding area.

In the winter months The Barn can either be taken as self catering for holidays and short breaks.

About Mark & Lynda Stenton

We have been in France for 10 years. The converted Barn is one of two properties at Les Basses Beaulinges, the other, The Cabin is a 2 bedroom log cabin.

Between the two properties we can accommodate a larger group of 10 people.

Mark & Lynda Stenton purchased this barn in 2003

Why Mark & Lynda Stenton chose Isigny-le-Buat

The barn is in its 8th year of holiday rentals and we have been pleased to welcome some of our guests return for their holidays in this time.

We live about 150 meters away. The properties are joined by the long gardens, with a hedges which separates the properties providing plenty of privacy.

NEW! This summer you will find a pool and terrace which are just being completed and will be available to you to use. These facilities are shared with the our other holiday home The Barn at Les Basses Beaulinges listed separately. However groups are welcome using both properties.

We are there only if you need us!

What makes this barn unique

The location is perfect. You could spend two weeks here and be sure to have plenty of different things to do, places to see and explore, all normally within a 2 hour driving radius.

If you want a full day excursion you could pop over to Jersey for the day from St Malo or Granville (seasonal).

Absolutely fantastic!

  • 5 of 5

The Barn is tastefully decorated and very well appointed with everything you could need. It's warm, comfortable and very clean. The bed was great too, comfy and with pretty linen. The towels provided were huge and thick and soft. Location was nice and quiet but very accessible to St Malo and Mont St Michel and other places close by. Mark and Lynda were very helpful when needed. Can't praise the property enough, you won't be disappointed!

Great house!

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely half term break at this house. In a rural setting but situated close to French villages, a Carrefour and Mont St Michel - everything you need is close by.

House is well equipped and we enjoyed the large kitchen and open living area. Very warm and cosy for rainy and cold days which is what we mostly had. Comfy beds and especially loved the little sitting area on the first floor.

Had a great time!

Lovely Gite, beautiful rural setting. Shame about the weather!!

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely week in this beautifully decorater, spacious and very comfortable gite. Mark and Lynda are very friendly and welcoming, nothing seems too much trouble! The pool is lovely - unfortunately we had a lot of wind and rain for the week, so we didn't use it (and the whole outside area - seating, loungers, outdoor heating, large garden) as much as we would have liked to!

The area is beautiful, if very rural. The towns nearby are lovely, but be aware that everything shuts down for the afternoon as is French culture, and there is very limited choice to eat out before 7/7:30pm, which was a bit of an issue having two small children who need to be in bed by then!

St Malo was lovely and seems a bit more cosmopolitan (so being closer to here may give more daytime options for young families?).

Mont St Michel is only 30mins away, as is Alligator Bay - both worth a trip.

Overall a lovely stay in a very well-appointed gite! Thank you Mark and Lynda!

Lovely, quiet in a convenient location for sightseeing

  • 4 of 5

We had a fantastic time in this beautifully renovated barn. The peace and quiet of the area is relaxing and with lovely and very friendly owners who have great knowledge of the area and places to visit, you can be as busy or as relaxed as you want. For those warm days the pool is brilliant.

We will definitely be coming back and recommending to friends and family.

Lovely property Lovely people

  • 5 of 5

Ants in our pants! This was a wonderful vacation. The property is well kept, clean, private and spacious.

The owners Lynda and Mark are fantastic people and always ready to share their knowledge about the area. Even some hidden gems were revealed.

The location of the property is very rural and rustic, yet its close to all amenities you need and close to most cities and sites to see. Thanks for a wonderful time! Absolutely worth a return visit

This beautiful converted barn sits in just under 1¼ acres of land in a quiet but easy accessible location. The barn provides a traditional but modern ambience, which is cosy but spacious. The accommodation is ideal for couples and families all year round

It’s the perfect base to explore the region which has so much to offer.

We are just 25 minutes away from the spectacular Le Mont St Michel, the 2nd most visited attraction in France, 30 minutes away from the superb seaside town of Granville and a number of wonderful sandy beaches, and just under an hour from St Malo. The Normandy beaches are in easy each, all of which provides fantastic days out.

If you are looking for something local, the small but very pretty town of Ducey is just minutes away with carefully manicured public gardens. Also minutes away is the trout fishing lake, ‘Le Tang de Touches’, which includes comfortable bar facilities. It offers a fantastic way to have a couple of hour’s fun and perhaps an introduction to fishing for all the family. It is guaranteed that you will catch enough trout for a wonderful tasty, fresh BBQ, and if you need help in preparing the fish, just ask us!

For the children there is a water park, sport, canoeing and activity centre nearby (Seasonal).

We also offer access and use of a private fisherman’s cabin situated in woodland, beside a lake, which is perfect for fishing and picnics. It is peaceful, relaxing and with stunning views. (You will need to buy a fishing license locally)
