About the property

Sleeps 6. Perfect for couples and families all year round.

Situated in a quiet pretty rural location The Barn has been converted into a 4 bedroom cozy but spacious country cottage. The interior is a combination of traditional oak beams; comfy sofa's but with a modern country kitchen providing all the facilities to make sure your stay is stress free.

The ground floor is open plan and provides a cool haven in the summer and a cozy intimate ambiance on those cooler evenings especially should you choose to light the wood burner. There is also electric central heating available. There is a utility room, with washing machine, and separate WC on the ground floor.

The first floor provides a large double bedroom with king size bed, and two single rooms, all with plenty of wardrobes. There is a large family bathroom with a lovely corner bath and hand shower. Towels and bed linen are all included.

The landing has a lovely peaceful area where you can just sit in a comfortable Queen Anne chair and take in the view and relax. (Always a favourite quiet area with our guests).

A small staircase takes you to the third floor to the 2nd double bedroom. The kids always find this fascinating as they feel it’s a hide away from the grown ups!

The immediate area provides peaceful walks where you can absorb the local atmosphere and hopefully observe the wildlife which could include deer, bunnies and birds; there are a lot of buzzards and hawks in the area. Don’t forget the cows who will always be curious as you stroll by.

About Mark & Lynda Stenton

We have been in France for 8 years now, The converted Barn is one of two properties at Les Basses Beaulinges, the other, The Cabin is a 2 bedroom log cabin.

Between the two properties we can accommodate a larger group of 10 people.

Why Mark & Lynda Stenton chose Manche

The barn is in its 7th year of holiday rentals and we have been pleased to welcome some of our guests return for their holidays in this time.

We live about 150 meters away. The properties are joined by the long gardens, with a hedge which separates the two which provides plenty of privacy.

NEW! This summer you will find a pool and terrace which are just being completed and will be available to you to use. These facilities are shared with the our other holiday home The Barn at Les Basses Beaulinges listed separately. However groups are welcome using both properties.

We are there only if you need us!

What makes this barn unique

The location is perfect. You could spend two weeks here and be sure to have plenty of different things to do, places to see and explore, all normally within a 2 hour driving radius.

If you want a full day excursion you could pop over to Jersey for the day from St Malo or Granville (seasonal).

Lovely property Lovely people

Ants in our pants! This was a wonderful vacation. The property is well kept, clean, private and spacious.

The owners Lynda and Mark are fantastic people and always ready to share their knowledge about the area. Even some hidden gems were revealed.

The location of the property is very rural and rustic, yet its close to all amenities you need and close to most cities and sites to see. Thanks for a wonderful time! Absolutely worth a return visit

Great place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

Mark and Lynda are very nice and we felt very welcome at their place. They gave us some nice drinks and things for the barbeque. This place was so nice and much bigger than we expected. A very quiet environment with nice walks around the house and only 20 minutes ride from Mont Saint Michel. The fireplace, good music and barbeque are nice assets of this house.

Towels en linnen were perfectly provided. Don t forget to bring some salt & herbs & oil, since the house is normally not inhabited by others. The twin rooms are great! Big beds are great and bedrooms are good furnitured. The smaller beds have less quality matresses.

Lovely self catering barn

  • 5 of 5

The barn is beautifully situated in the French countryside, so peaceful but only 10 minutes to the pretty town of Ducey, with supermarket and a variety of shops. The property is lovely, modern and spacious, but with a rustic feel, very clean and a credit to Mark's hard work. Mark and Lynda are so warm and welcoming and happy to assist you in any way they can. We loved the fact that the barn is dog friendly, our Border Terrier loved the spacious garden and although on the edge of the road we only saw one car on a busy day!!! We would highly recommend this Normandy property.

Our first time in France, and what a superb experience. This accommodation is beautifully situated in the French countryside, yet is convenient to amenities and so many places of interest.

The Barn itself is very clean and well furnished, the owners have gone out of their way to ensure that everything you need is there.

Mark and Lynda are two of the loveliest people, we appreciated the very warm welcome, and they have struck the perfect balance between being on hand, yet allowing the right amount of privacy for visitors.

A really lovely experience, we hope to return soon.

The listing description 'A luxurious and spacious converted stone barn' is 100% accurate The barn is finished to an extremely high standard and equipped with everything necessary for the perfect holiday. Situated in a beautiful, peaceful location yet close to all the local amenities and within easy distance of the family friendly beaches and attractions. We particularly enjoyed visiting Le Mont St Michel, the Zoo at Champrepus, Zoo de Jurques, St Malo, Dinard and Cancale. The owners were lovely and we were made to feel extremely welcome. This is by far the best property we have stayed in in France and we've stayed in quite a few over the years! I would have no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone. A return visit is definitely on the cards. Thank you Mark and Lynda.

This beautiful converted barn sits in just under 1¼ acres of land in a quiet but easy accessible location. The barn provides a traditional but modern ambience, which is cozy but spacious. The accommodation is ideal for couples and families all year round

It’s the perfect base to explore the region which has so much to offer.

We are just 25 minutes away from the spectacular Le Mont St Michel, the 2nd most visited attraction in France, 30 minutes away from the superb seaside town of Granville and a number of wonderful sandy beaches, and just under an hour from St Malo. The Normandy beaches are in easy each, all of which provides fantastic days out.

If you are looking for something local, the small but very pretty town of Ducey is just minutes away with carefully manicured public gardens. Also minutes away is the trout fishing lake, ‘Le Tang de Touches’, which includes comfortable bar facilities. It offers a fantastic way to have a couple of hour’s fun and perhaps an introduction to fishing for all the family. It is guaranteed that you will catch enough trout for a wonderful tasty, fresh BBQ, and if you need help in preparing the fish, just ask us!

For the children there is a water park, sport, canoeing and activity centre nearby (Seasonal).

We also offer access and use of a private fisherman’s cabin situated in woodland, beside a lake, which is perfect for fishing and picnics. It is peaceful, relaxing and with stunning views. (You will need to buy a fishing license locally)
