Charming Cottage, Perfect Holiday Hide out.
Perfect little getaway for some family time over the holidays. Lovingly restored, nice details, and hiking nearby.
Thanks for the kind words. It was our pleasure to host you and hope you will consider us again when in the area. Blessings for a joyous Holiday season
If you like a country atmosphere, this place is top notch.
I was visiting the area with a couple of my high school friends for a race weekend at port royal speedway. Instead of staying at a hotel, we decided to try to find a place where we could all hang out together, talk about old times and have a few laughs.
This house was perfect. It has everything that you could ask for, all of the amenities are like brand new. It was plenty big enough for three of us and would be comfortable for four people if one person wouldn't mind sleeping on the couch.
Sarah and Mark were very accommodating and I also enjoyed my visit to the winery tasting room. The chickens hanging around in the yard were pretty cool also.
We will be back next year, Thanks for everything.
Thanks so much for the kind words. We’ll hope to see you next fall.
Lovely cottage for a get away
Owners are very friendly and accommodating. Cottage remodel is comfortable and cozy, while keeping the feel of "history". Grounds are lovely. Easy to get in and out of tow, should you care to go. We will definitely be back next time we need some adult time away!
The cottage was wonderful. Clean and quiet. Except for the trains but we thought they were charming. We enjoyed the winery on property. Josh the host was very friendly. Sunset was beautiful
Cozy, Clean and Relaxing
An amazing visit. The cottage is charming and very comfortable. The Hill family could not have been more welcoming or hospitable. The winery is relaxing and the wine delicious. We had a wonderful experience and we highly recommend this property when visiting the area.
We enjoyed meeting and hosting your family as well. It was great that your group could enjoy the music at the winery and we appreciate the nice comments. Safe travels and many blessings in the years ahead. We would welcome the opportunity to host you again.
Our party of four adults stayed here for two nights while attending graduation weekend activities at Juniata College. We all wished we could have stayed longer and relaxed more! The setting was so peaceful and lovely, and the cottage was the perfect size and well appointed. The only thing we added from our "just in case" supplies was an extension cord in the master bedroom for charging multiple devices.
Sadly, we had too much to do with the graduation that we did not even get to visit the tasting room. We did, however, patronize the newly opened Shy Bear Brewery in Lewistown (twice!), and we highly recommend it.
It is clear that a lot of love, attention to detail, and a good amount of cash has gone into the renovation and upkeep of this place. As owners of old houses, we really appreciated the work that has been done here. However, even with the new appliances, the beautiful bathroom, and the lovely, comfortable furnishings, my favorite thing about this cottage was that I could watch the train go by from my bed! That was the best!!
Thanks for the kind words. Sorry we didn’t get to meet you during your stay. Good point on the extension cord. We’ll be sure to put a few over there. Glad you enjoyed the trains. I love them as well. Blessings to you and your family.
