This Mariner Pointe condo was totally gutted and renovated in 2012 and is all new. You can see water views from the entry, kitchen, dining area, den and master bedroom. The private screened lanai has a panoramic view of San Carlos Bay. You can see no other lanais, just dolphins, pelicans, island birds and boats. Watching all the activity will become one of your favorite pastimes.

This upscale end unit is on the second floor and has travertine tile floors throughout. The kitchen features granite counter tops, all the small appliances, cookware and utensils to make you feel right at home. You will find china or corian tableware and crystal or plastic glasses to suit you mood. It has a full size, front load washer and dryer. You have wireless internet and there is a 42' flat screen TV with HD , Soundbar speaker, and Blu-ray player. The master bedroom has a 32' flat screen smart TV also with HD.

The master bedroom features a king bed and the guest bedroom a queen. Each bath has travertine tile tub and shower surround with granite counter tops. The master bathroom has double sinks. Enjoy spa towels and plenty of beach towels.

Just steps from your front door, you will find one of two heated pools, tennis courts, shuffleboard courts, kayak launch and bike storage racks as well as a grill area. On the bay side there is a new boardwalk all along the complex with a fishing pier (no fishing license required for guests). The complex has private boat slips for rent with direct access to the gulf. Slip rentals are weekly by contacting the complex manager.

Mariner Pointe is conveniently located just across the Sanibel bridge. The Island offers many activities. The famous Sanibel beach is just a mile away. It is a lovely walk or bike ride. Shells are plentiful year around. Beach chairs, umbrella and beach bag are waiting for you.

The Ding Darling Wildlife Center is fun to explore. There you can choose from guided boat tours to see marine life or either tram, auto or bike rides to see the birds and local wildlife. The white pelicans are usually visible in the late fall and winter. Enjoy island shopping or biking on the extensive bike trails. There are over 20 miles of trails on the island. You can purchase a day, week or monthly fitness pass at the Recreation Center which features an extensive selection of fitness equipment as well as many other sports and activities. About Karen H.

The owners live in Lexington, Kentucky.

Karen H. purchased this condo in 2011

Why Karen H. chose Florida South Central Gulf Coast

Randy remembers coming to Sanibel on the ferry with his grandparents who had a house on Fort Myers beach. This was before the bridge was built. His Dad also had a house in Fort Myers. Many good memories are here for us.

What makes this condo unique

Mariner Pointe is a quiet complex with private lanais and extraordinary views of the bay. This convenient location is easy on and off the island and yet convenient to everything the island has to offer.

Wonderful Home Away From Home!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at Karen's condo! AS ADVERTISED! It had everything we needed and more, nothing was missing. Very clean, up to date property! Great kitchen appliances and great wash machine and dryer. Beds in both rooms were comfortable. I felt it was a big bonus to have a king in one room and queen in the second room. Made it the perfect place for 2 couples to stay. (Most other units I looked at had twins in the second bedroom.) The lanai was our favorite place! Nice corner unit with great privacy. Watched beautiful sunrises every morning while enjoying coffee and breakfast. Comfortable seating for the four of us. Enjoyed cocktails every evening on the lanai while watching dolphins, manatees, and boats go by.

Convenient location. Quick easy access to bike trails, causeway, and main areas. My husband could not believe you didn't need a fishing license to fish off the pier, but you don't. He brought his rod and reel and he had a great time! There was even a fishing rod in the spare bedroom that our son-in-law used! (Did't I mention it had everything you'd need and more!) Very relaxing for both of them.

Marina is very close and we had a great bonus when we booked a fishing trip with Cast About Charters... Captain Ben picked us up with the boat basically outside the door! Such service! He was a wonderful captain and we had a great time on Cast About Charters and highly recommend it. Beautiful boat, great captain. Fantastic time!

The condo was a great place to come home to after a day of fun in the sun! Can't say enough good things about this unit. Karen was easy to work with and got back to me in record time when ever I had a question. WOW! Never had this quick of response at other VRBO properties that we have rented. Thanks again to Karen and Randy for providing this beautiful home away from home. We definitely needed it after our long cold Wisconsin winter! : )

Most Relaxing Vacation in a Long Time

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful condo had everything we required: fully stocked kitchen, beautiful view of the bay from the screened porch, comfortable beds, and easy access to the wonders of Sanibel Island. We ate all our meals overlooking the bay, where dolphins and sea birds put on a show for us. The grounds were beautiful and very well maintained. Thank you, Karen, for providing such a lovely spot for our vacation.

Comfy, cozy & convenient!

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed a wonderful week's stay at Karen H's Mariner Pointe condo! This condo is so well appointed and extremely clean! Just the small things like wine glasses were of the highest quality and so appreciated! Each morning we had coffee on the deck and the views of the causeway were spectacular, and dolphin were seen on several occasions. Enjoyed walking the boardwalk along the water just out back from the condo and the fishing pier. Also met many wonderful residents of Mariner Pointe who were extremely friendly and helpful.

Mariner Pointe is located on one of first streets once you cross the causeway from Fort Meyers. That is a good thing if you desire quick access to the bridge and Fort Meyers. Traffic on Sanibel & Captiva can be arduously slow. Proximity to the bridge makes a quick trip to Publix easy and cost efficient vs. grocery shopping on the island at Jerry's Market.

Found that bicycles are king on the island (multiple bike pathways) and have priority at all traffic intersections- definitely recommend bringing your own bicycles or renting bicycles. Enjoyed the abundant "Happy Hours" at various locations- Il Ceilo may have been our favorite! Also enjoyed several waterside Tiki Bars- the Sea Star Cafe and Waterfront Bar at the Sanibel Inn, located at the intersection of Lindgren Blvd and East Gulf, the Thistle poolside bar at the Casa Ybel Beach Resort at West Gulf Drive and Butterknife, and the Mucky Duck on Captiva.

Just a wonderful February break!

Perfection in Sanibel

  • 5 of 5

It's been a week since our vacation and we miss the warmth and beauty of Sanibel While searching for a two bedroom this was the only selection that caught my eye. Upon entering the condo, my husband said it was PERFECT. The kitchen was fully stocked with pots and pans, bone china and corelle dishware, cups, glasses and spices, laundry and kitchen soaps and paper towels. We shopped at Bailey's store and thoroughly enjoyed the farmers market on Sunday morning. We were here for a restful week and were not disappointed. On the rainy days we had, we watched their big screen TV or sat on the bed and watched the bay and causeway...a great view. We used the fishing pier a few times. Everyone we met was friendly. All the rooms were lovely and decorated in appealing earthtones. A nice touch were the dimmer lights in the kitchen/dining area and also the nightlights in the bathrooms. It was nice to have a little light if you had to get up during the night and not stumble around. I liked the big clock in the kitchen because I always like to know what time it is. We usually went out for lunch and our favorite spot was the Island Cow. We were very sad to leave but will visit again.

Delightful location....perfectly furnished...

  • 5 of 5

We were delighted with the location of the condo and how well it was furnished...'home from home'!!!! We wanted for nothing!!!

This was our second visit to Sanibel from the UK . The island is a very special place. We are especially interested in Ding-Darlings legacy and wildlife.

We have booked to return again next year. Thank you.

Owner's Response: Loved your review and that you have already planned your return. We are so glad you found us. The Ding Darling Preserve and Sanibel Captiva Conservation Foundation are doing a wonderful job of taking care of the many acres dedicated to coastal wildlife and aquatic resources. I hope you were able to see the white pelicans.

Our unit at Mariner Pointe has the Bay on the back side and the canal on the front side. Just steps from our door you will find the heated pool, tennis courts, and grills. Shelling is fantastic on the Sanibel Beaches, especially on the west end of the island. The beach is about a mile away and and there is a deeded beach entry at the end of Lindgren Blvd. You can bring your boat and rent a slip by the week or fish off the fishing pier. The dolphins have a playground in the waters in front of our building. Just sit back and watch the show. We hope you love it as much as we do and return often.
