This house felt like a home away from home! Very nicely decorated, and the vegetation in the yard and the neighborhood felt like a rainforest! We enjoyed the house and the ability to walk to the beach.
We had an amazing stay, so much to explore around the area. The house was very comfortable and nice. We were just two but it seems like 10 people could stay there.
Great place. We’ve been coming here for three years now and always have a blast
This house is a great location for large families or multiple families. We used the kitchen extensively, only going out for a couple meals (Kaleos and Pizza place in Pahoa) over 8 days. If you are looking for R&R, this is one worth considering. Beware, there is no cell phone coverage on AT&T or Verizon, but good internet and WiFi calling will keep you connected, if you desire.
Exactly as advertised. Enjoyed the location. Brought self and young adults and all had a great time.

The Kehena area is on the south east coast of Hawaii Island and encompasses several small, residential neighborhoods. Located along ‘Red Road’, named for the red cinder that used surface it, this is easily one of the most beautiful coastline routes you’ll ever drive. This area is home to Kehena black sand beach, sometimes called Dolphin Beach for the spinner dolphins that frequent it, where you can enjoy a refreshing swim or relax on the sand.
To the south, lava has been flowing for over 30 years and is often visible from the Kalapana lava viewing area, less than 10 minutes away by car. Head north on Red Road to find some of the area’s other unique attractions: Pohoiki Bay at Isaac Hale Park is the local surfing hot spot, and also the boat ramp for lava cruises; Ahalanui Park has a georthermally heated ocean-side lagoon that is close to Jacuzzi temperature; the Wai Opae Tidepools at Kapoho Vacationland provide some of the best snorkeling in the entire state, where dozens of tidepools formed by ancient lava flows have been designated a marine conservation area and are home to a wide array of sea life and beautiful coral gardens.
Eclectic Pahoa Village is a 15 minute drive, and is home to diverse and delicious restaurants, funky shops, grocery stores, gas, banks and other services. Historic Hilo town and the entrance to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park are both about an hour’s drive.
