Brac Villa Rental Photos and Description

3 bedroom romantic stone villa recommended in Sunday Times -10min walk to beach!

Villa Maruka is a traditional Dalmatian stone house from the 19th century newly renovated into a luxury villa for 6 to 8 persons. It is situated in the peaceful old centre of the village Mirca, perfect for families or groups of friends looking for relaxation in an authentic island location. Sunday Times recommended Villa Maruka among 100 best SUMMER VILLAS in whole EUROPE!

The villa consists of 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen, dining and living room with a fireplace, mini-bar and a TV set. All together over 120m2 of the interior. Outside, in the forecourt of the villa is a swimming pool with hydro massage and attractive covered outside dining area with BBQ. A sundeck is positioned to capture the best views of the sea and Dalmatian coast.

The nearest beach and a restaurant are only 800 meters from the villa (10 minutes’ walk!), a grocery shop is less than 2 minutes by walk and the nearby town of Supetar with its busy cafes, restaurants and shops is within 5 minutes’ drive or 30 minutes stroll.

AUTHENTIC LOCAL EXPERIENCES - olive picking, fishing, wine tasting, herbs picking, traditional local games, traditional food and cooking...

- FOR FOOD & WINE LOVERS:

Fresh seafood on the seaside, probably the best Croatian lamb in central parts of the island, abundance of fresh seasonal vegetables and wild herbs, famous local olive oil (grown and produced so close to your villa!), sweetest figs and grapes, almonds, cherries, sheep cheese and curd… Make sure to also try Dalmatians’ traditional festive dish 'pasticada'– long cooked beef in delicious sauce served with gnocchi; venture to taste a local specialty which is prepared only in few island villages and nowhere else in the world; don’t forget to match it all with fresh white wines from northern Croatian regions or rich Dalmatian reds which will fill your glasses with tastes of hot mediterranean sun...

Explore on your own or take a guided “gastronomy tour”, join the wine tasting with our friends the local wine makers, find out everything about olive oil during the Olive trek festival or catch your own seafood lunch on private fishing trip. Book your stay in Villa Maruka and we will make sure you taste the best of Dalmatian cuisine!

- THE STORY OF THE HOUSE AND THE OWNERS:

Villa Maruka is a typical Dalmatian old house built by my family in the 19th century. My father was still born in this house, but than it had been empty for almost 50 years, until we renovated it in 2007/2008 and gave her new life. Before the construction works on the villa began, we consulted the Split conservation office to preserve as much as possible of the existing Dalmatian architectural tradition and its original charm, but at the same time to meet the highest modern living standards. I hope the villa will exceed your expectations!

Most importantly, I will be there to welcome you and help you discover the best of our island. I live full time in Mirca and will be happy to recommend my favorite restaurants and local food, things to see in the area and experiences you should not miss. I hope to share with you my love for this country and make your vacation here the most memorable.

I look forward to meeting you in Mirca!

Yours sincerely, Sanja Sinovcic

Guestbook comments from the owner

We (me, my wife, two children (2 and 4 years old) and my parents-in-law) spend a amazing holiday in Villa Maruka and in Brac island. The both beat our expectation. We enjoyed excellent facilities of the villa and our kids really loved the pool! The villa is situated in a small and quited village which is a perfect situation for a relaxing vacation with the family. All needed services was nearby and a car trip to Supertar's services (restaurants, superstores etc.) took only about 10 minutes.

We had a car rented for the whole week and we made several car trips to another small villages and beaches in the island. Sceneries were incredibles and the sea was already warn enought to swim. How the sea water can be so cristal clear?

Thanks Sanja for your warm hospitality!

The perfect stay in a beautiful villa.

  • 4 of 5

we cant thank Sanja enough for our stay in this lovely villa in beautiful surroundings.

We stayed at Villa Maruka for 10 days as a family of four plus two friends and it really was a lovely time spent just relaxing and enjoying this wonderful island.

from the moment Sanja met us on our arrival, we were made to feel very welcome and we were so pleased when we arrived at the villa and saw how comfortable and clean it was.

Sanja was always on hand for anything we needed and we loved the fresh grapes and tomatoes that were brought from her garden.

it really was a great holiday and we are already thinking about coming back next year. Thanks Sanja x.

An absolute Gem!!

  • 5 of 5

I can truly say we so enjoyed our stay at Villa Maruka. The villa has amazing grounds, pool and outdoor facilities; then inside the villa there is everything you could possibly need.

We loved the location, the peace and tranquility was fantastic. And Sanja, who looked after us for our week in Villa Maruka, was the perfect host, giving great advice and tips, available when needed and supplied us with fresh vegetables from her own garden on a regular basis.

The quality, care and attention given to this villa is immense, and it all adds up to deliver a great holiday.

Thank you Sanja.

Old time charm and modern luxury

  • 5 of 5

Villa Maruka is charming and cosy to stay in. The place is very tastefully renovated with comfortable rooms and excellent bathrooms. We particulary enjoyed the sun deck with sea view and the outdoor barbecue area. An added bonus was the location in a genuine village - complete with church bells ringing and roosters calling in the morning :-)

Expectations exceeded

  • 5 of 5

This summer we spent a wonderful and very relaxing week with our two children at Villa Maruka. Villa Maruka is located in the quaint old part of village Mirca, tucked away from hustle and bustle of tourist areas yet offering a beautiful sea view from the terrace and easy access to the beach and the town of Supetar, shopping etc. The house was very comfortable for the four of us. The pool and the terrace area is very private and well maintained surrounded by a garden in full bloom. Sanja and her team did a superb job throughout our stay and made us feel at home. The house and service definitely exceeded our expectations and we would be happy to return to Villa Maruka another Summer.

Car: recommended

Villa Maruka is situated in the traditional part of the village Mirca, but only 3km west from the town of Supetar, which is the Brac island capital and a port for ferries connecting the island with the biggest Dalmatian town Split. Although it’s so easy to reach, this part of Mirca still has the authentic soul of an old island village: stone houses, narrow streets, and the time you spend here passes more peacefully and relaxed! The village is surrounded by old olive groves, orchards and pine woods with interesting hiking and biking routs. The nearest beaches are within 10 to 15 minutes by walk.

-

The villa is handily place for exploring the whole island of Brac and its charming seaside towns, hidden historical treasures, beautiful beaches and the unspoiled nature. One can also take the ferry beck to Split for one day shopping and sightseeing in the Split old town formed in the magnificent Diocletian palace - 1700 years old unique Roman palace which is still today alive and full of locals.

-

If you just want to relax in your villa, without needing to drive anywhere else, the nearest restaurant and coffee bar are some 800 meters from the villa on the main beach in Mirca, which is only 10 minutes on foot. Just 2 minutes by walk from the villa is a grocery shop as well. Bigger supermarkets, souvenir shops, green and fish market, pharmacy, hospital, bank, ATM, gas station, more restaurants, cocktail bars and night bars, all can be found in the town of Supetar, just 5 minutes’ drive from the Villa Maruka by taxi or a bus. If you prefer to walk, you will be in Supetar after a nice 30 minutes stroll or 10 minutes of easy bike ride. Car and bike rentals are available with delivery to the villa!

-

AIRPORT TIPS: Our closest international airport is Split airport on the mainland. Split airport is connected with most of the major European airports, in summer with direct flights. Some low cost companies like EASY JET, GERMAN WINGS, Wizzair, JET2com, NORWEGIAN, Vueling, Transavia also fly to Split. We can help you organize transfers from the airport to the villa by minibus (via Split ferry port) or even by private speed boat directly from the airport to a pier in Mirca.

-

AIRPORT TRANSFER TIMES: from 1h45min by car/minibus (via ferry); 45 minutes by private speed boat or motor yacht

-

OTHER AIRPORTS: Zadar international airport is also not so far. Only 1h35min drive to Split ferry port! Zadar airport is Croatia's RYANAIR base connecting Dalmatia and 16 European cities on low cost direct flights! Dubrovnik airport is 3h30min drive from Split. Minibus transfers are available from these airports as well!

There is also a smaller international airport on our island Brac. Brac airport can be used for charters and private planes!

-

FROM ITALY by FERRY - Split is connected with Ancona by ferry boats whole year round, in summer every day!

Check the schedules on: www.jadrolinija.hr or www.blueline-ferries.com

Fast boat line from June to September: www.snav.it

REGION CENTRAL DALMATIA:

Dalmatia is one of the most beautiful, yet unspoiled Mediterranean regions. It will amaze you with its clear blue sea and white stone shining under warm Mediterranean sun, as well as with its little towns rich with heritage and cultural and historical sites, all surrounded by the beautiful nature.

Easy-going Mediterranean lifestyle and warm and welcoming local people will help you relax and recharge your batteries with a lot of positive energy! And the food… fresh, healthy and full of original flavors!

The island of Brac is situated in the hart of Dalmatia, offering island atmosphere but also excellent connections with the mainland and the second biggest Croatian town Split.
