About the property

Private lakefront cottage with separate bunk cabin

Welcome to your next family getaway! Primely located on beautiful Magic Lake, our family friendly cottage comfortably accommodates a family of 4 with a separate 'Bunk Cabin' that can accomodate an additional 2 guests if more room is required.

The main cottage has a queen sized bed and the 'kids' room is equipped with a bunk bed. The full kitchen with dishwasher is open to the dining and living room. Enjoy beautiful lake views from the large glass covered deck. Prepare delicious meals on the BBQ provided and warm up on cool evenings with the patio heater.

The sloped property is terraced and provides level lawn ideal for playing a game of croquet or badminton. Stroll down to the lake and enjoy the private sandy beach and dock. A perfect place to watch the kids play! There is a peddle boat and lifejackets are available too.

The Bunk cabin, which is available as an add-on offers all the amenities of home in a very glamorious camping setting. There is a queen sized bed in the loft which is accessible by a "ship style" ladder. Enjoy a book or a glass of your favorite wine on the private red-brick patio with a wood burning chiminea (firewood supplied but No Burning between July-Oct) and of course... frequent visits from the resident deer.

The cozy cabin offers a half bathroom,, linens, cable TV/DVD, BBQ and a heated outdoor shower to complete.

We are located just 15 minutes drive from Otter Bay ferry terminal and 10 minutes walk to popular disc golf course. No pets please.

A lovely week on the lake

  • 4 of 5

We spent 5 nights at this property last week and our overall experience was very positive. The only reason we couldn't give 5 stars was the lake access - we were hoping for a week of jumping off the dock and swimming right at the property. However, the weeds grow thick right up to the shore and we found out that means leeches! The 'swim hole' public swimming park at the other end of the lake was fantastic (and leech free) - it takes about 20 minutes by paddle boat (paddle boat is so much fun!), if you had your own canoe/kayak it would be 10 minutes at most, 3-4 minutes by car. The lake is scenic and quiet and this is the only property with any real beach on the entire lake. Lots of friendly ducks to say Hello and deer wandering through the yard :)

The cottage is a single wide mobile home unit which is wonderfully equipped, clean and taken care of - but it is a little compact. The deck is fantastic! It doubles the living space of the unit. We also used the 'bunk cabin' and found it surprisingly useful for such a small space - the outdoor shower was the best part. We had 4 adults and 2 kids and we maxed out the space available in the two buildings. The property is much bigger than I anticipated.

We found lots of coves and public beach access points nearby, enjoyed the winery, local restaurants/cafes and cycled around the island. Food on the island is expensive - pack in what you can! Garbage disposal is an extra charge at the local store or pack it out.

I would recommend the property as long as you are aware of the swimming situation or interested in only being on the lake and not in it as often! :)

Compact, modern, well equipped lakefront cottage and cabin

  • 5 of 5

Rented both cabin and cottage for five nights with our daughter and three grandchildren. The photo's do not do full justice to the interior accommodation or the property. The location is quiet, peaceful and relaxing. The cottage is compact but modern, airy, clean, efficient and tastefully presented. It is very well equipped with everything needed. Outside is a spacious covered deck with a wide view of the lake. We spent many hours relaxing on the deck watching the children having a a ton of fun on the swings and in the pedal boat. The cabin is very compact, but efficient, clean, modern and equipped to the same quality level as the cottage. Temperatures were in the mid 20s while we were there and the cabin interior can get quite hot in the late afternoon, especially up in the sleeping loft. For summer visits, I would recommend bringing a small fan and extension cord with you to pull in the cooler evening air through the opening skylight. The booking process was super efficient and easy and owner Pierre is easy to reach and very responsive.

It is a beautiful spot on the lake. I wish I could upload picturesnof the view we enjoyed.

Perfect for 2. We will always stay here when over to Pender, which is frequent of late. Cozy, well stocked kitchen and easy to get ahold of owners, of you have questions.

Quiet and relaxing. The patio is covered and has heaters, so even in the winter in the rain you can sit outside.

We'll be back soon.

Perfect escape

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at the Magic Lake Cabin! The pictures don't do it justice, the property was larger than we expected and the cabin also had more space than we anticipated and has all the amenities you could ask for. We really enjoyed the relaxation, wild life and and the serene views of the lake. The peddle boat, badminton net and croquet set got alot of use. Highly recommended! Pender Island is a beautiful place to visit, we saw orcas off the shore, dolphins, otters, seals, deer, hawks, weasels, you name it!!!

Relaxing lakefront accomendation

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed 3 nights at this property. Very comfortable, modern, good sized deck on lakefront, lots of room for kids to run around yard that was visible from deck. Tire swing, peddle boat and badminton area all near shoreline was a bonus.

The lake was very quite during our stay and we enjoyed easy access to the lake for paddling and swimming.

Many local amenities near by and it didn't hurt that we had fantastic weather.

Owners very easy to communicate with and very accommodating. Would love to return to this property again. Money well spent.

6 days? Wish it was longer.

This is the perfect getaway. Right on the lake, with a paddle boat for tootling around the lake. We highly suggest watching the sunset from it in the middle of the lake. Very quiet and relaxing. The kids room is definitely for kids or very short people ;). Walk down to the swimming hole at the far end in the day or night. The cabin had everything we needed as far as spices and vinegars and oils, which was great. Also, the patio has glass over the top, so there is no fear of sunburn for those who have fairer skin. All in all, a great private getaway space. Also, it is close to the disc golf course, which is the most important thing.
