About Mountain Heaven

We began in the French village of La Plagne Montalbert when our three children were very young but as we grew wanted to find another resort which was perfect for both ourselves and our guests and by luck we found Grimentz and so we extended our small family business to the stunning resort of Grimentz which combines old village charm with a great ski area.

We started the company with just a handful of self-catered apartments. With much dedication and hard work we went on to develop a successful business and a loyal guest following

Mountain Heaven was born out of a love of the mountains. Our values are simple….. have you ever gone on a skiing holiday and wondered why the cost goes up and up? The extras from tax sejour, towels, cots, high chairs WIFI, and the list go on. At Mountain Heaven as part of our set of values includes all these in the price, so there are no annoying extras.

We own and run Mountain Heaven so we are an independent family operated company, involved in its day to day operation. It's us you will talk to on the phone and see in our chalets and the slopes. We are fully bonded with ABTOT which is important for us as an honest ethical company and for you as a customer so your money is fully protected. This gives you peace of mind knowing you are with a company that cares about how it operates and not just in the business to make a profit. Unlike many others we are not simply resellers of accommodation, we operate all of our own accommodation and know the ski resorts and accommodation / ski chalets intimately and have staff on hand to help you in each of the resorts.

Beautiful apartment in a beautiful location. ideal for both summer and winter holidays. We just keep coming back to this place !

The apartment is still brand new and spotlessly clean, with all the mod-cons one could need. Two comfortable double bedrooms (one with wall-mounted TV and DVD player), small but well appointed bathroom. Big flat-screen and DVD player in the spacious living room-diner. Excellent WiFi reception - for those that want to stay in touch with the rest of the world.

A short 10 minute walk to the gondola station that takes you up the mountain. For those that love wintersports: a good selection of very nice and scenic runs at all levels (and they're building another lift to connect to the next valley!) Great little snowboarding park midway up to the higher slopes.

In the summer the place is very, very quiet. Which is fine: there are loads of mountain walks, ranging again from easy to tough. This summer we went all the way up to the Cabines de Moiry and Becs de Bosson. Just brilliant.

Grimentz is quite a small village, but has two hotels and a good few restaurants and tavernas with local fare.

Estuvimos una semana 2 adultos y 2 niños de 9-11 años.El anuncio refleja fielmentelel apartamento. Muy limpio y cuidado, la dueña ( habla inglés) es atenta y vive cerca.El apto. es confortable. Habitaciones:Buenas camas, armarios y almohadas, tamaño un poco justo al ocupar mucho espacio las camas.Yo prefiero una cama amplia y menos espacio en la habitación.Una de las habitaciones tiene televisión.Muy buen wifi. Salón-cocina. La cocina tiene todo lo que necesitas para cocinar y comer, moderna y en un estado excelente. Si vienes de España necesitas un adaptador para los enchufes, la dueña te proporciona uno, pero tal vez necesites uno más , nosotros nos arreglamos que el que había.Baños: Tiene un baño amplio con bañera y un aseo.Como lo demás, todo moderno, muy limpio y en excelente estado.Tiene plaza de garaje.Tiene un pequeño jardín donde ( por ponerle un pero)sería bueno poner una mesa y unas sillas para poder comer y disfrutar de él.

Entorno: Esta en una estación de esquí.Los vecinos son silenciosos.La casa por fuera es preciosa.

El pueblo es pequeñito pero muy bonito, tiene una parte antigua peatonal con tiendas,muy cuidado y con mucho encanto.Recomiendo visitarlo.No hay mucha gente ni turistas en Grimmentz ( hablo del verano). Hay restaurantes, supermercados, ( muy caro como todo en Suiza) ,oficina de turismo, etc.Pero repito que es pequeño ( nada que ver con Zermatt, Sans Fee, etc).No es el típico sitio para pasear todas las tardes, en 1 hora lo ves de sobra. Lo bueno es que puedes llegar en coche a tu apartamento, no como en otros lugares de Suiza que debes ir en tren o teleférico con el consabido gasto diario de transporte y parking.

La carretera que te lleva desde la autopista al pueblo es lo peor. Son 20 Km de curvas cerradas.El pavimento está en muy buenas condiciones y todo bien señalizado.Debes poner atención en la conducción, está bastante transitada y hay partes donde debes ceder el paso al coche que viene de frente .Por la noche debes poner los 5 sentidos. Si vas con cuidado no tendrás problemas, los suizos son conductores prudentes.

La zona tiene muchos senderos de montaña, bien señalizados y puedes hacer todo tipo de excursiones y de todos los niveles. Partiendo de Grimmentz , en coche, puedes visitar las zonas más espectaculares de Suiza ( Zermatt, Alecch, Sans Fee), en 1-2 horas.Tienes cerca una preciosa ciudad ( Sion), Ginebra está a dos horas, Berna y Lucerna 2.30 horas.Recomendable

If you like ancient, quiet, totally unspoilt mountain villages together with a modern lift system then this is the place for you. In addition to the piste skiing the area is famous for its fabulous off piste skiing and its mountain touring. For magnificent views just off one the pistes in Grimentz there is a stunning 360 degree panoramic view of the Imperial Crown - five 4000m peaks - Weisshorn, Zinalrothorn, Obergabelhorn, Dent-Blanche and the Matterhorn. The village itself has tiny cobbled streets and in some places they are so narrow that the roofs of the chalets almost touch each other in the middle.

Ski: The skiing in Grimentz is mainly between 1340m to 3000m although the vast majority of the skiing is above 2100m thus the area is snow secure. The area has varied skiing from open pistes to forest runs and steep blacks to easy blues. There is a great snow park at 2500m in Grimentz and additionally one in Zinal. The lift system is modern with Gondolas, Cable cars, a funicular in St Luc and fast six man chairlifts.

Grimentz is now connected to Zinal with a huge cable car and to get to the other resorts in the area from Grimentz there are free buses - a regular bus goes from Grimentz to Zinal and a slightly more irregular service to the other resorts. If you are a competent skier there is a fantastic long black run from Zinal back to Grimentz which starts steep and then meanders through the forest until you pop out a short walk from the main gondola station in Grimentz.
