We enjoyed our 2 week stay in your Apartment very much. The location, just outside the walls, is ideal; we were close to the city within a rural Tuscan setting. It is spotless and very comfortable. The Garden Flat and Rhoda Lardner were amazing!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent 2 glorious weeks at The Garden Flat. Our intentions for our second trip to Italy was to immerse ourselves in the culture and interact with the locals and feel like we lived there. On the first night we arrived, Rhoda warmly greeted us with a bottle of wine and made reservations for us for dinner at a restaurant within walking distance. She even called the restaurant to make sure we arrived safely. We immediately knew we made an excellent choice to stay in this apartment. Our first night experience was just a prelude to what we experienced throughout our entire 2 weeks. Rhoda, as well as, Charles, made us feel like one of their regular neighbors (some of whom we met), and shared with us many of the activities that the local people the huge market that comes to Siena every Wednesday. There were several other activities that we were treated to that made us feel part of the Snail Contrada neighborhood. The Garden Flat is very spacious, comfortable and in an excellent location where we could walk to the heart of Siena and also access other shopping and main roads for our excursions into the Tuscany region. If you want to experience Italy from a local's perspective, then we highly recommend The Garden Flat or any of the other accommodations in the loving care of Rhoda Lardner.

Loved the apartment

  • 5 of 5

We found this apartment lovely and comfortable. It is in a beautiful neighborhood away from the more touristy areas but close enough to walk to them. There is a bus that also runs frequently to the historical center. Rhoda is an excellent host with a wealth of information about the local area. She also recommended a wine tour with Mario which made for an interesting day. But most importantly, Rhoda went out of her way to make sure that we had everything we needed to make our stay special!! We will certainly return and highly recommend it!!!

A traditional Tuscan experience

  • 4 of 5

The apartment is exactly as described with wonderfully exotic decoration and everything you need for a perfect holiday. Rhoda was very welcoming and genuinely interested in making our holiday enjoyable. The outside terrace is small but the views make up for this and we spotted deer several times from the window while we were having breakfast. The walk into town is steep but there is a very regular bus service into the centre 5 minutes walk away from the apartment. An ideal base for exploring the delights of Siena and easy access to the Chianti country.

Amazing experience

  • 5 of 5

My brother and I stayed in The Vista for a week in October - we are both "seniors"; it was our first trip to Italy and were a little nervous about finding our way around. Rhonda was so warm and gracious - she even picked us up at the bus stations so we wouldn't get lost - we relaxed immediately and settled in for a memorable and comfortable stay. The apartment is spacious and very well appointed, both decoratively and functionally. We prepared several meals in the kitchen, always enjoying our morning coffee looking out on the breathtaking view. The location is ideal; it is in a residential neighborhood - we felt like welcome guests, not tourists. It is within walking distance of the old city, but was a little too steep for us on a regular basis - Rhoda told us about a local bus that picks up at the bottom of the road (not too steep!) - she even started us out with bus tickets! Rhoda was always available and was full of helpful suggestions for restaurants and activities - she helped us find a Cooking Class which was amazing and a personalized tour of vineyards and the local countryside which was the highlight of our trip. We left wanting to know more about Siena and it's people. We will definitely return!

Fantastic !!!

  • 5 of 5

Rhoda and her partner Charles were excellent hosts. They were always available, took us to the local market, recommended great places to eat and shop. The Garden apartment was so homey, clean and welcoming. Rhoda lent us her movie DVD's to use too. The outdoor garden space was wonderful. We stayed 2 weeks and enjoyed every minute.

Wonderful apartment in wonderful Siena

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for a month in January and had wonderful time. The owner, Rhoda, is lovely – really helpful and friendly. The apartment is spacious with a well-equipped kitchen and a huge comfy bed in the main bedroom. Rhoda has really thought of everything to make your stay perfect. She goes out of her way to help. We needed a clothes rack to dry our clothes as we were doing a fair bit of washing of our baby’s clothes – she bought one that same day. She always made herself available. The location is fantastic – just five minutes walk to the walls of the historic center. There are bus stops just around the corner to take you to the center and the train station. There are two large supermarkets (Penny Market and Conad) just ten minutes walk away and a local one five minutes down the road and Rhoda has very helpfully supplied a shopping trolley for those without a car. The road the apartment is on is really quiet which made for a good night’s sleep. There are views of the beautiful countryside from the back of the apartment - I loved sitting by the window in the kitchen having my breakfast in the morning. Siena is a stunning place and the apartment was perfect for our stay – so much so that we really didn’t want to leave.
