This spacious condo is 1769 sq ft of beautifully appointed living area and is fully equipped to make your vacation enjoyable. The Master Bedroom has a King size bed and the guest bedroom has two twin beds. The loft bedroom and bath is like a small one bedroom apartment with lots of closets and a separate living area and two twin beds. Twins can be converted to King for additional charge.

My job , like many of you , is very stressful. This little piece of paradise is my idea of therapy. It is amazing how I can just feel the tension leaving my body the minute I arrive, put my shorts and flip flops on and relax on the lanai with a traditional mai tai. I spend many hours just chilling out but I am also a avid diver and try to take advantage of the fantastic diving here in Hawaii . When I am not chillin' I also run, bike, golf and ad play tennis during my days in paradise.


Kanaloa is a extremely well maintained propery that lets me get away from it all. Because there are three pools and hot tubs , it is never crowded . The location is great and it is super quiet.

Great spot for family vacation

Beautiful views, well stocked kitchen (particularly appreciated the rice cooker and crock pot), nice amenities. This was our second stay at Kanaloa and we hope to return again.

We loved the condo. It was very roomy and spacious. We would definitely stay here again. This was our second trip to the Big Island. This condo is in a very good location. We loved that it has 3 full bathrooms. Coffee on either one of the lanais was the perfect way to start the day. The pools were beautiful, the ocean pool was our favorite as it overlooked the ocean where we saw a whale breach. We took full advantage of the BBQ grills. Thank you...

Wonderful Big Island stay!

Aloha! We stayed here with 3 couples for 10 nights and found this to be a comfortable, affordable place. The grounds & 3 lovely, saline pools are well-kept. Kanaloa at Kona is quiet, secure and feels private even though it is quite large. (We loved the security guard! She's a hoot!)

It was wonderful to have 3 bathrooms (2 blow dryers) and 3 separate sleeping areas. The condo itself was clean, but worn. Old electronics. WIFI worked well. Not updated but we were really happy with it, especially because of our 3-way cost split. Tile floors, countertops. Beds comfortable.Our bedding was a bit worn and mismatched(!), but the towels were nice. Day 4 had to buy toilet paper, paper towels, bathroom soap, laundry soap, saran wrap, baggies, and more. We had a quiet lanai on the golf course. (We had friends in another condo for a similar price and that one felt better equipped, brighter, and newer on every level from carpet, bedding, kitchen amenities, granite countertops, beach toys, colors, flat screen TV, etc., and a view of the bay.) But we weren't in the condo much and felt it was a great location, had plenty of room, gave all the couples privacy, and just worked GREAT! We did pay $30 extra a day for air conditioning and were glad we did with Oct-Nov temperatures in the 80s. It just made our nights so pleasant. There were plenty of fans to move air, too. (Our friends' condo came with air conditioning with no extra charges, by the way. Can't help but compare 2 rentals.)


1. There's a front door, then stairs up into the condo, as well as stairs to the 3rd bedroom. We are ages 58-70 and did fine, but this wouldn't be for everyone.

2. There is a futon in the 3rd bedroom (upstairs sleeping area). So, you could sleep 8 if you have a couple of younger kids.

3. We like the quiet Keahou area with its 15-minute drive to town. There is a supermarket & shopping center close by (get lilikoi malasadas there in the morning;) and we like to snorkel so Kahalu'u Beach, excursions out of the bay, and the southern snorkeling spots make this an ideal location.

We especially appreciated the help planning our activities. The volcano was active and Mr. Stewart was really knowledgeable about every activity we looked at.The clubhouse was clean and inviting with a ping pong table and group area. Office staff was helpful.

Hawaii Sunset Real Estate was responsive and helpful when we had a couple of glitches, so thanks to them! Mahalo! We will be back to the Big Island soon!

nice stay!

We had a family of six including teens and stayed for 10 days. The unit was tasteful, and had a good amount of space. The upstairs was more exposed to noise. The grounds were great, nice pools, tennis courts and pretty plants. I wish there were more towels (esp with long haired teens) and having more than one kitchen towel would have been helpful too. There was a lot of gardening noise (blowers, etc) daily. Location was good and easy access to the highway. The unit gets QUITE HOT and we did not elect the a/c options though discussed it nearly daily. There are overhead fans and portable fans (though somewhat rickety). Overall, good value for a big family!

Nice unit, quiet

We are VRBO owners ourselves (15 years) so we search out these properties. We have stayed at this complex before but in different units. The complex is perfect; bbqs, multiple pools, tennis courts, etc. We are a family of 5 and we enjoyed this unit. A couple of things that need to be addressed; there is not a sharp knife in the place; we ended up buying our own. The floor fans in the bedrooms are very noisy and the fridge needs replacing. We had it turned up to the coldest setting and semi cool is the best it could do. The freezer was unable to freeze as well. Upon check in, the maid was not finished at our specified check in time of 3pm and she asked if she could just leave the towels in the dryer....not a biggie. This was at 345 when she showed up to remove the garbage bags and transfer the wet towels into the dryer. The unit has many ants; we are used to insects in Hawaii but this was a lot...not a real biggie. The most frustrating item; and the owner of this unit has no control over this, is the gardeners started with power tools at 7 am and didn't stop until dark. Now a day or 2 of this is fine but it was everyday...every day we were there; 7 days. Hard to enjoy the peaceful landscape with 2- cycle engines running full throttle.All on all we will come back and a clean tasteful unit.

  • Before you make a reservation, please recognize that when possible we book our properties back-to-back, where guests arrive in the afternoon of the morning other guests depart. During the high-demand seasons of IronMan (10/01 to 10/16), and the Holidays (12/23 to 01/02), we require a minimum stay of 7 nights; during other Holiday weekends (e.g. Memorial Day) we require a minimum of 5 nights; and during the remainder of the year, we require a minimum of 3 nights, including "gap" bookings that occur between two other bookings during any season. Please email us with any questions before booking.

    When you make your reservation and pay your deposit, please include your cell number when asked for your phone, and email us if you haven't received a confirmation within 12 hours. We will need to confirm that your dates integrate well with our calendar and provide you with a confirmation email and guest license agreement. 

    Your reservation must be secured with a major credit card and your deposit paid with that card; we accept VISA, MasterCard, and Discover. You may pay your final balance with the same credit card or another card of your choosing. For an additional fee we accept American Express or PayPal for your final payment; please contact us to make those arrangements. Your initial deposit made online will include a booking fee that goes straight to VRBO/HomeAway for making your reservation. 

    The cleaning fee included in your reservation is the standard exit cleaning fee for the size of this property (3 bed/3 bath), and maximum number of guests permitted (6). If you are reserving for 21 days or more, we will add an extended-stay cleaning fee of $100.00 for every 21 days you stay to cover the additional time required to clean the property. Guests arriving or departing on Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Day will be charged an additional $125 Holiday cleaning fee if their booking creates a back-to-back reservation. The additional cleaning fees will be added after you make your reservation - there is not a way to included these fees as part of the online booking.
