The house is 2300 sq ft of comfort and accommodations. We've included everything we thought would make your stay pleasant and memorable. The kitchen and dining room are open and there is an additional stove-top island for additional entertaining. The grounds are lined with mature trees and lush grass and has a beautiful view of both the river and the mountains. We see lots of wildlife, including deer, bald eagles, bears, minks, raccoons, moose and of course, fish.
We are 4th generation Montanans. We have 3 children and 1 grandchild who also love being on the river and in the mountains. We are fisherman, hunters, hikers, boaters, skiers, gardeners and anything else outdoors.
George or Cathy purchased this lodge in 2012
We have, for a long time, wanted to get 'back to the mountains' and saw this as an opportunity for our families, and yours, to enjoy the beauty of the Mighty Mo and the mountains and the wildlife.
Quiet neighborhood. Easy access off the Interstate. Approximately 10 miles to the north to the town of Cascade and approximately 9 miles south to the town of Craig.
My wife and I rented the Lodge for 2 nights in October. The house was clean, warm, and comfortable. The Kitchen was spotless, and well stocked with everything you might need for an extended stay feeding your crew. Clearly the house was much larger than the two of us needed, with multiple bedrooms and plenty of space to relax and spread out. The Missouri is just steps away from the back deck, and we soon spotted rising trout along the banks and deer wander through the yard. We had a chance to say hello to the owner, who just wanted to check in and make sure we were good. All in all, a well cared for home with attention to detail, comfortable for large groups, quiet and inviting. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
The Jumping Rainbow is a gem. It's ideally located, comprehensively equipped, well maintained and clean. The kitchen is the focal point of the home and comfortably fits a group to get ready for a day's fishing or to chill out and compare fishing stories. The house is full of comfy beds with clean bedding and allows for rest when not on the water. George and Cathy were gracious hosts. I'd definitely come back.
Perfect for our group of 8 fishermen. Clean, well appointed, roomy, nice grounds on the river. Good location. Guides met us at the property each morning. George and Cathy were great hosts and let us use the property without interference. We would definitely return for another fishing experience on the Missouri River.
This beautiful home sleeps 10 and is in the middle of the Canon stretch of the Missouri between Craig and Cascade. Because George and Cathy charge by the person, it's a tremendous bargain for a couple of fishermen. The house has everything you need. You can cast to rising fish from the bank behind the house in the evening, or sit in the swing overlooking the river and watch eagles, bighorn sheep, deer and other wildlife while you unwind. Even though the Interstate is nearby, the house is quiet and restful. Highly recommended! Thanks, George and Cathy for sharing your house with us.
Nice place to stay... thanks George. Please trim the trees and shrubs on the way to the river... it could be a GREAT VIEW!!
The Jumping Rainbow was very clean and the organized kitchen was completely stocked with all one needs. Nice to have a large regular refrigerator! It was good for our group of 5 to all have privacy for sleeping. The accommodations were a little dated but we were there to fish and not spend much time in the house other than dinner late evening. It was surprisingly quiet!
We are located only 9 miles from the resort town of Craig, Montana: The fly fishing hub of the Missouri River Corridor in northcentral Montana. The Lodge is easily accessible from I-15 and a 1/4 mile on a paved Recreation Road. The Lodge has an easy walking path to the Missouri River where you can put in your canoes, kayaks, rafts or tubes. Easy access to a most supreme stretch of fishing on the Missouri.
