About Joan Martinie
As a big fan of Frank Lloyd Wright, I was surprised when we first time saw the house. Former owners David and Jillayne Arena and their family spent 36 years and did a great job restoring the house.
Joan Martinie purchased this House in 2011
Why Joan Martinie chose Burnham Park
One of only two restored Frank Lloyd Wright-designed American System-Built homes in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. One of only a few Frank Lloyd Wright-designed houses where you can spend the night. Frank Lloyd Wright signed the actual building permit in 1916. A true Prairie Style original. Light-filled rooms create a warm, organic living space. Maple floors throughout, 80 leaded glass windows, built in bookcases and armories, tray ceilings, natural fireplaces. Spacious, vintage Danish-designed Poggenpohl kitchen. Amazing stained glass skylight floods staircase with light. Generous master suite with en-suite bath, natural fireplace, and many built-ins. Private, mature landscaped yard with deck.
What makes this House unique
Stay in Frank Lloyd Wright designed American System-Built Home, enjoy 80 gorgeous leaded glass windows, amazing stained glass skylight floods staircase with light, and view the other five Wright-designed homes on the same block-the longest continuous stretch of Wright homes. Memorable Stay in Frank Lloyd Wright Home
What a fantastic opportunity to embrace history. My family thoroughly enjoyed our brief trip to Wisconsin, and it was made so much better by having the honor of staying in an actual Frank Lloyd Wright home. Both my wife and I have been big fans of FLW for a long time, and this was our first chance at staying in one of his homes. It did not disappoint.
Burnham Block in August
I really had the best time staying in this Frank Lloyd Wright designed residence. It has been lovingly cared for and is in beautiful condition. The owners provide just about anything one could need to make the stay comfortable. Next door is another American System Built home that can be toured. Wingspread and the Johnson Wax building are a short drive away. Madison, with its wealth of FLLW designed buildings, and Taliesin are both an easy day trip.
Without hesitation I recommend this property and thank the owners for listing it on Home Away.
Very nice home, enjoyed our long weekend.
Great opportunity to get to stay in a Frank Lloyd Wright house. The house is loved. Hosts are welcoming and helpful. House has everything one needs and is clean and comfortable.
Beautiful home! Lovely owners.
This is a wonderful example of Frank Lloyd Wright's American System Build homes. The FLW Museum is right next door so it adds to your stay to visit the museum. This neighborhood is in it's renovation/rejuvination peiord. The location was convient to downtown and the freeway.
Thanks so much for your wonderful review!
Appreciate your support! Hope to see you again in the future!
