I guess I've been in love with the West for as long as I can remember. I grew up with stories of my Father's childhood on ranches in the Roaring Fork Valley of Western Colorado, before tractors came to that country. My Mother's Father was a book and record collector and had a wonderful collection of Western History and Art Literature.
In the last 36 years I've worked as a Ranch Hand, Range Rider, Horse Shoer, House Carpenter, Dude Wrangler, Hunting Guide and last but not least a Camp Cook. I've been doing pencil and pen drawings for most of that time. I've also, been playing guitar and writing songs for about 25 years now, which still surprises me?
My wife, Nancy and I live on the ranch, we raise hay, Skipper W Quarter Horses and Hell once in a while!
Come and see us! Ross
Privacy with views of Grand Mesa, quiet and peaceful. Watch the horses graze in the pasture. Beautiful sunsets against the dobie hills.

Patricia and Landon,
We so enjoyed having you at the ranch and we hope you can come again next month and spend the whole week! The cards are on our website
Let me know if you have any questions.
Perfect quiet rural setting, just like our place in Arizona. Felt like a home away from home. Extremely clean, set my mind at ease letting Granddaughter crawl around. Got to meet Nancy and she is very nice. Thank you
We would highly recommend this vacation rental to anyone. It is a very comfortable place to stay. Plenty of sleeping areas, plenty of bathrooms. Ross, Nancy and Badger are very nice people and dog.
We have stayed at the Ranch 5 times now. We generally have 5 adults and two small children. The house is a great fit for our families. Our little boys will start 'nagging' us about the trip as soon as they find out we are returning. We have found the Ranch to be our home away from home. We especially love the horses and seeing the wonderful stars at night. You feel like you're out in the middle of nowhere but only 15 minutes from groceries.
My elderly father and wife (she has Parkinson's) have stayed at the Ranch and love the fact that the house is perfect for her mobility issues.
We will continue to come stay at the Ranch for as long as they will have us!
Our family spent 2 nights at the Ranch over Thanksgiving break. It was very nice. Lots of room. Comfy in all ways. Plenty of everything we could have wanted or needed. We had a great time.
We stayed at the home for a weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. Ross and Nancy greeted some of our party and were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The house was clean and cozy. The setting is beautiful and we especially enjoyed the beautiful artwork inside the home which was drawn by one of the owners. We loved being able to take a piece of it home with us, as we bought a few of the blank cards to take home!
The kitchen was well equipped, the beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were stocked with small toiletries which was a nice touch. There was plenty of room for 8 adults and we never felt like we were invading someone else's space.
I think the only thing we couldn't find was a full length mirror, but otherwise the house was everything we could have asked for. We would definitely recommend it and return there if we visit the area again!
The house was amazing and very comfortable. Everything was provided. An awesome host. We enjoyed your company around the fire. Beautiful surroundings. Thank you so much for your hospitality. Would definitely stay again.
