I guess I've been in love with the West for as long as I can remember. I grew up with stories of my Father's childhood on ranches in the Roaring Fork Valley of Western Colorado, before tractors came to that country. My Mother's Father was a book and record collector and had a wonderful collection of Western History and Art Literature.
In the last 36 years I've worked as a Ranch Hand, Range Rider, Horse Shoer, House Carpenter, Dude Wrangler, Hunting Guide and last but not least a Camp Cook. I've been doing pencil and pen drawings for most of that time. I've also, been playing guitar and writing songs for about 25 years now, which still surprises me?
My wife, Nancy and I live on the ranch, we raise hay, Skipper W Quarter Horses and Hell once in a while!
Come and see us! Ross
Privacy with views of Grand Mesa, quiet and peaceful. Watch the horses graze in the pasture. Beautiful sunsets against the dobie hills.
Bring your horse and ride on Grand Mesa or ride in our arena, pens available. Great place to stay when hauling horses.
Patricia and Landon,
We so enjoyed having you at the ranch and we hope you can come again next month and spend the whole week! The cards are on our website
Let me know if you have any questions.
We have stayed at this home several times now for different occasions. We have stayed both in the summer and in the winter and each time we have had a wonderful time! We love the wide open fields, horses, and dark skies with beautiful stars and bright moon.
We have had as few as two of us and as many as nine of us.
We definitely recommend that the first time you visit that you come in the daylight as it can be hard to find in the dark if you haven't been there before.
The owners are on site, available for questions, something missing from the kitchen...but never intrusive. We have even joined them for a campfire for some conversation, singing and S'mores!
The kitchen is well equipped and we love that it has 3 bathrooms. The master bathroom is equipped with facilities for those that have mobility issues. Be prepared for spotty WiFi access. The owners have tried to boost the signal but the house is in a valley and it's hard to get signal. It is a great time to be unplugged. If needed, you can get access from areas closer to the main house.
The town of Delta is about 10 minutes away with access to groceries and restaurants. Grand Junction is only about 45 minutes away if you want/need a bigger city.
We have rented houses in several states but this one is by far our favorite. We will be back as long as they will have us.
Thanks so much to Nancy and Ross for sharing their hospitality and their home!
Ross and Nancy are the ultimate hosts at this beautiful vacation home. They not only opened their home but also their hearts to us. We so much appreciated the comfortable place with all the necessities of a home away from home. It was spotlessly clean and just had even more than was expected. The garage space was an extra bonus as well as the use of the laundry. We were able to enjoy days out doing activities and then return to cook a meal in the full kitchen. They shared their campfire, their ranch and their friendship. We were a group with lots of young people, and everyone had their own space and was comfortable. Nancy helped us with anything we needed, and Ross shared his many talents with us. We would highly recommend this place for a great spot to see Grand Mesa, visit the local towns, or to just get away with friends or family. We hope to return one day! Thanks again!
This was our second time staying at this property. We stayed at the property last summer and were so impressed, we went back again this year. Our group consisted of 8 guys on an annual fly fishing trip. The accommodations were perfect for us again. The owner's greeted us and made us feel right at home and made certain we had everything we needed and were very accessible if we needed anything. The guest house had enough beds for all of us. We had access to the 2 car garage for all of our gear, which was great. The kitchen had everything we needed to facilitate cooking meals for 8 hungry guys every day. Having 3 full bathrooms was a plus and very nice for all of to use. The property and house were well maintained, clean, and absolutely perfect for our group and trip! I would absolutely recommend this property for anyone looking for a relaxing, peaceful, and adequate property for a large group.
We have made it a tradition to travel to this property every spring break and we love it.
The rental is in the most amazing location, quiet, peaceful and beautiful. In addition with a drive of 15 minutes we can get up on top of Grand Mesa for the most amazing skiing ever. Then with another 30 minutes we can be down in a canyon to run in shorts. It truly is the best of all possible worlds!
This property was a gem of a find! The description and information on the website was very clear and was easy to find and had everything we needed and wanted. The house was very clean and inviting but also cozy and had a warm ambience to it. The owners are very friendly and provided great customer service. We plan to stay there again in the future and would recommend it highly!
My husband and I, along with our three children and our parents stayed in this home during Thanksgiving 2015. Having family in Delta and Grand Junction this was the perfect location, just a 6 mile drive and you have the privacy and comfort of a nice home. The house was very clean with any accommodation you could need. As mentioned the home is all handicap accessible, which was great for my Dad who uses a cane. Nancy was so helpful and inviting. My son had misplaced his Nintendo DS and not only did Nancy find it she was quick to mail it to us. Thank you! This is definitely a place to come back to.
