Absolutely perfect!

  • 5 of 5

There were 12 adult males in the cabin this weekend and they had trouble finding eachother in the house because it is so big! Everything is updated and beautifully done. The owners were a real pleasure to work with. I love this property.

Great for families!

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful, clean, large property! We had plenty of space and the river is beautiful. Response time was under 15 mins. Our two families had a great last week of summer vacation! Ladysmith is about 20 mins away and has a grocery, mini golf, coffee shops, and several cute ice Cream places. If we are in the area we will definitely stay again! Loved it!

Secluded and extremely peaceful

  • 4 of 5

We came on a fishing trip, with 8 guests, all sleeping comfortably and loving the atmosphere provided by this tranquil spot.

We had a little luck on the flowage and also got some small mouth bass off the dock with leaches.

The smoker grill came in handy with our large meals and pool table provided entertainment through the rainy days.

Bring your own hand towels as paper towels will get used way too much if you dont. I would definitely rent at this location again.

Great space on a great river

  • 5 of 5

What a nice property and great stay. Very quiet--very beautiful. The steps down to the river are a hike, but the hike is worth it. The river is pretty serene and you can wade in by the dock and while there are rocks, there aren't a lot of jagged ones to worry about. The paddle boat and canoes are nice perks. The hammock was very nice for naps and one of our party members even slept on it and said he slept very well.

Our group enjoyed the common areas and the nice BIG lawn. Great deck that fit our entire crew of 12 grown men with no issue. The WiFi met our needs and we able to use it to make WiFi phone calls.

As is the case with many rural locations, plan on packing away your own recycling, but they do have a dumpster on site for your garbage. Most of the bedrooms have window air conditioning except for the basement which is a bet damp in the humid summer weather--probably could be solved with a dehumidifier--but the basement didn't smell as they tend to when it's damp. Make sure to bring your own shampoo as there was only one small hotel style bottle when we got there.

All and all, it's a great value for a lot of space and a lot of quiet :)

Beautiful Northwoods Getaway Spot for Memorable Family Fun

  • 4 of 5

Our multi-generational 11-person family group, ages 8-62, had a marvelous time at Timber Creek Cabin. We stayed 5 nights in July. The gorgeous deck/pier area was nice and sunny and warm in the mornings and comfortably shady in the afternoons. Using the equipment provided as well as what we brought with us, we enjoyed swimming, paddleboating, canoeing, kayaking, boating, fishing and relaxing at the water’s edge. The stairs and trail down to the water certainly were steep, but no one in our group has mobility problems that would have made this a problem. We used the canoe and kayak launching spot upriver as well as the boat launch downriver. At the house, we particularly enjoyed the fire pit, the pool table, the hammock, and the deck off the dining room. We found the property to be clean, and well-maintained for the most part. We appreciated the amply-sized kitchen and what appeared to be newly remodeled bathrooms. A few details prevented us from giving a five-star rating. For example, we found the sleeper-sofa in the basement to be in pretty rough shape (but fortunately we didn’t need it). Even with the air conditioners, the 2nd floor bedrooms were warmer at night than we would have liked. However, the owners were pleasant to work with and responsive to our questions and requests. We would not hesitate to recommend this property to other groups like ours.

Nice north woods cabin, tough water access

  • 4 of 5

Our family of 10 (7 adults and 3 kids) greatly enjoyed our time at the cabin. We really enjoyed the quiet location. There is not a neighbor insight and there was very little water traffic. There are spacious bedrooms and nice amenities such as laundry access, dishwasher and smoker. Plenty to keep the kids entertained with the play equipment, beach, pool table and fire pit. The dinning room table was slightly too small for our large family but there is a great patio with plenty of seating. There is a very steep hill to get down to the water. There are stairs (currently without handrails) but it was a difficult trip to the water for many family members. It was also extremely difficult to get our kayaks to the water which lead us to needing to put in at a landing dock and paddle to the house. Must bring own towels and toilet paper/paper towels which is a little inconvenient since we had so much other gear to bring. Also rugs in the bathroom would help as it gets very slippery. Overall a good trip and a nice family get-away.
