We love the Smoky Mountains and have always dreamed of owning a home here. Our dream came true in June, 2012, and we're looking forward to sharing our knowledge of the park and our home with our guests.
For the past 20+ years, we have escaped our hectic lives in Chicago to hike and backpack the beautiful trails in the Smokies. We were engaged on the top of Mt. LeConte, and both of children had their first (of many) backpacking adventures here in the Park. We've hiked most of the trails, including much of the famous Appalacian Trail. We still live in Chicago but once the kids are off to college, our next dream will be call Tennessee our home.
Patty purchased this cabin in 2012
We fell in love with this home from the moment that we saw it. We love the tranquility of the property yet its convenience to the nearby attractions. We love being soooo close to the National Park. We love that the home is unique and handcrafted with spaces for everyone to relax and play. It's our place to unwind when we need it and, most importantly, make wonderful memories with our kiddos and friends. We hope that you love it as much as do!
The cabin is beautifully handcrafted. It was build to last forever in this peaceful setting. The rooms are spacious with high-end finishes and the community is beautiful. Three Little Birds was build to be 'a home'. We absolutely love our home, and hope that you will treasure it as we go.
Our family of four rented TLB and had an amazing experience! The cabin was clean, perfectly appointed, comfortable and fully stocked with everything we needed - and then some, given the stashes remaining from previous guests (Folgers coffee, anyone?). There was even a Boxtops for Education collection envelope stuck on the fridge, which melted my heart... (Surely these are donated to the local school system, which is no doubt in need of the financial support provided through the Boxtops program.) While we spent the bulk of our (too-short) stay out in the Smokies, the down time we had at the cabin was so very peaceful and idyllic. I will never forget staying up late with our small ones (8 and 2) to roast s'mores in the backyard, or breaking in our National Parks Monopoly game at the kitchen table with a bottle of wine (Orange Fanta for our 3rd grader), or relaxing in the hot tub. The only thing I didn't get to do that I so wanted to, was to chill out on one of the porches with a giant cup of coffee and a book. But that's the rub when it comes to family vacations: you don't have too many moments of solitude! Location of TLB was great: secluded, but close enough to "civilzation" that we didn't feel marooned. We found shopping at Walmart off the interstate was more convenient than driving in to Food World outside Gatlinburg. LOVED our dinner at local treasure, Carver's!! My poor gluten-free husband was soooo bummed that he couldn't enjoy the apple fritters. (He made up for it in other ways.) Contact with the TLB owners was easy and pleasant. They truly made certain we didn't have to worry about a thing. We cannot wait to go back, though it looks like we must because the place is always booked! A very, VERY "alright" thing. ;) (Posted by guest on TripAdvisor)
Patty you were more than kind to deal w/ and your cabin was perfect. You really did think of everything! I will say a lot of the games were missing pieces, and almost all of the garage toys for outside were absent or broke. But I'm sure it's hard to keep inventory on that. Otherwise, the cabin itself was perfect. The location on the other hand I would not chose to stay here again. Beyond the fact that you truly leave civilization to get out to your place, the actual gated community of 4 or 5 houses that you sit in , is not inviting. From the large billboard sign posted outside the gates declaring: We are Christians, we believe in marriage is man to woman, blah, blah, blah.) For someone who shares different beliefs, this wasn't my cup of tea. We also had the chance to meet the man across the street ( who perhaps is just kind , but came across creepy.) A few minutes into our conversation asked if my young teenage daughter and friend like cemetery's? Asked me then if I minded if he took them for a walk to one. Of course I said no. He also told me he has only lived there for 3 months but is selling because he didn't care for neighbors in your little gated community. Could it have been his neighbor with the conferate flag at driveway entrance, or next to him w/ a do not enter sign and a sign of a smiling emoji w/ a bullet through his head and blood spilling out? Whatever the case, between the run down trailer like homes prior to entrance and the creepy neighbors; my family did not feel safe at your cabin. If your cabin sat alone in a different area, I would have given it 5 stars, but for these reasons I simply cannot. Thank you for allowing us to rent your cabin and for your kindness in trying to make our vacation a memorable one.
Nestled in the TN hills about 5 minutes from nature's playground of the National Forest and loaded with every modern convenience you would need! You can tell they truly want their guests to find the love for the area that they have, as seen in all the details and care taken of the cabin. Our family of 5 had more than enough space and the cabin is VERY clean. Despite the temps we hiked everyday, zip lined, white water rafted, visited Gaitlinburg (about 20 minutes drive), visited Carvers for some local jellies/ syrup, played games in the cabin and relaxed in the hot tub. We would definitely rent again and cannot wait to come back when it is a little warmer to enjoy all the area has to offer to its fullest capacity.
I cannot say enough about Patty & the house. She was so quick and responsive anytime we needed anything. The house was absolutely breathtaking. It was fully equipped with anything we needed! The house was close enough to town, but far enough away that we didn't fight traffic. There was always so much to do between shopping, games provided, and the hot tub. Checkers was a huge hit for our group. We are so glad we got the opportunity to stay here. It was more than we ever imagined.
Once again we enjoyed our home away from home at Three Little Birds.
From the moment we walked through the front door, we felt so blessed
to be back in the smokies again! Located in the perfect proximity to everything,
hiking, shopping, nice restaurants, & even a day trip to the Biltmore.
We will be back!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Three Little Birds cabin! It was the perfect place to relax. This cabin has literally any & everything you could possibly need! They provide you with all sorts of grilling tools/supplies, everything you could want or need in the kitchen, tons of board games, a jar of spare toiletries/odds & ends (incase you forgot anything), lots of fire starting tools & wood & honestly probably anything else you could think of. We enjoyed most of our time on the front porch playing checkers & swinging on the front porch swing or in the back yard around the fire pit. The owner was very nice & quick to respond any time we contacted her. I would highly recommend this cabin & hope we get the ppportunity to stay there again in the future! :)
The Three Little Birds Cabin was the perfect spot for our continued celebration of our 50th wedding anniversary ( married June 1966). Beautiful, clean, well furnished, and appreciated, the location is very close to the Crosby entrance to the GSMNP-and no crowds! Hiking, great scenery, and lots of outdoor fun, and local artisan shopping are nearby. We enjoyed several guided fly fishing trips into the park. On one trip, the local elk herd waded into the stream for a swim .Maybe 30 feet away. That was an experience! We had perfect weather-warm days and cool nights-so in the evenings the cabin fireplace and that wonderful hot tub were put to use.
Thanks Patty for all you do for your customers and for providing such a special place to enjoy in a beautiful part of this world.
Three Little Birds is located within 5 minutes of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park entrance. We are 15 minutes away from white water rafting and ziplining, and just an easy 25 minutes from Gatlinburg. Go antiquing and visit the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC just 1 hour away. The house is set in a tranquil wooded setting surrounded by nature. No hills to climb or crazy roads to get to our house.
