Unit 2 - Charming free standing Guest House 900 sq ft with a spacious king bedroom,, beautiful cherry bedroom set, white tiled floors, full bath, newly painted, new living room furniture with pull out queen bed couch, recently remodeled granite kitchen, open living room with flat screen tv, French Country dining room, private deck wit tropical plantings. This unit has a great floor plan and nice flow. The kitchen is well stocked for entertaining and the private deck off the kitchen is secluded and peaceful surrounded by tropical gardens.

Why the Owner Chose Siesta Key:: My family discovered Siesta 15 years ago as wonderful vacation spot. After several years of looking for the right vacation property we found Siesta de Mayo Cottage and our labor of love began in transitioning SDC to what is is today..

Siesta de Mayo Cottage has a Old Siesta feel to it and a cottage coastal design flair, good amenities.

I own a Bed and Breakfast in Newport RI and after 19 yrs in the business I feel I know what guests expectations are.

As gardeners we have taken our love of gardening and put in tropical plantings, walkways, lights and a relaxing oasis in Siesta de Mayo Cottage. We our constantly upgrading the furnishings, bedding, linens and kitchen.

We train our housekeeping staff to always leave the unit like no one has ever stayed in it before.

We also offer 24/7 customer service if you have a question or problem at the unit. We have service people on call.

It is our dream to own property in the Village of Siesta and we hope you will enjoy it as well.

The Unique Benefits of this House:: Year Purchased: 2009 - While staying at Siesta de Mayo you will enjoy the cottage and the laid back charm of Siesta Village and all it has to offer. Great restaurants, shops and nightlife all in two minute walk to the village. The unit fully stocked with linens and kitchen supplies. The property is very quiet and tranquil..lots of birds. The beach is a few minute walk...and beach chairs and towels are provided. The secured common area has a hot tub is complete with lounge chairs, gas grill and gardens.

Owner Description/Comments:: I have owned a bed and breakfast in Newport for the last 19 years and decided to expand our properties to Siesta. Siesta de Mayo is not a Bed and breakfast but we have the same expectations of quality and service. I have combined my love of business, gardening and people to create Siesta de Mayo Cottage...It has been our dream to own a property in Siesta Village and we would like to share it with our guest's I am active in the community of Newport RI. Participating non profit organizations, bed and breakfast associations and a board member of our visitor's center.

I am also a member and volunteer at Siesta chamber of Commerce

We decided to purchase property in Siesta Key which started a 2 1/2 year project that evolved in the purchase of Siesta De Mayo Cottage...The location, old cottage charm and yard made this the perfect rental location....We are located less than a two minute walk to the Village of Siesta and the great restaurants, galleries, shops, music venues, Farmer's Market and Olaf's Ice Cream

Our location is a 2 minute walk to the Village of Siesta and the great restaurants, shops, nightlife and galleries. *The unit is stocked with a starter supply of toilet paper, a roll of paper towels, liquid soap and body wash. We do not provide laundry products. The washer dryer is available for our guests. Open from 10-8pm Sat closed from 11-4pm *We offer 24/7 customer service. If a problem arises at the cottage please do not hesitate to call. We have a list of service people who can take care of any issue on the property. We have a caretaker as well. *Kitchen: cooking utensils, iron & board, spices, stove top burners, grill, 4 ring stove, coffee maker, toaster. *Detached Unit (Unit 2) - 1 king *The bath has been updated and have been painted *long term renters welcome *Theme: family, away from it all.

Great location to beach and restaurants. Weather perfect. Windows open at night but warm enough for swimming and sun bathing during the day. Cottage met all our needs. Comfortable bed. Beautiful outdoor space.

Girls Getaway!

Unit Two at Siesta de Mayo provided a much needed and relaxing girls’ getaway! This lovely unit was perfect with all the amenities one could need. The bedroom was spacious with a very comfortable king bed. The kitchen had what we needed when we didn’t go out for dinner. The dining room had plenty of space for entertaining. The living room had amble seating with comfortable couches that were very cozy and relaxing after a day at the beach and shopping along Ocean Blvd. One convenient feature was having access to a washer and dryer near the unit. I enjoyed basking in the sun with a good book and glass of iced tea on the private patio. Our days were spent walking into “the village” and trying a variety of different restaurants including wine and tiki bars along with a wonderful French restaurant for lunch. The crepes were Ooh la la. I found the village very welcoming to a variety of tastes. My favorite part of my weeks stay was the beach combing, walking along the snow white sands and watching dolphins as the sunset nightly! Oh did I mention the hot tub…what a bonus! All and all it was a great week spent at Siesta Key in the Siesta de Mayo Cottage!

The private deck off Unit 2 is great for sunning and relaxing. As gardener's we are constantly working to improve our gardens and outdoor areas. Siesta Village is a gem one that our guests love because of our location... Basically you can park your car and walk everywhere. Siesta quartz sand is one of a kind....and our shells are plentifull. Wonderful time in Siesta

Recently had the opportunity to stay here with a few friends and had the most wonderful time! Comfortable bed,nice linens, bathroom was spotless, loved all the little seating areas outside. Quick walk to the village and the beach. We had some wind from Hurricane Sandy, and on a few days had to leave the beach, but were able to still enjoy the sun from the enclosed gardens. We were even able to keep in touch with our families as we watched the storm travel north with the WiFi and cable in the guest house. We spent part of a day at the Marie Selby Gardens about 20 minutes away and another day at the Ringling Museum in Sarasota. Lots of fun and beautiful sunsets in Siesta Village!

Siesta Key is an island on the west coast Florida that is part of Sarasota. Siesta Key is noted for its national ranked #1 beach, wonderful shops, restaurants, nightlife, Farmer's Market,Olaf's Ice Cream, Robin Hood Rentals and galleries. Sarasota proper is a few minute drive from Siesta with its thriving art community, galleries, historic area, the Ringling museum, Marie Selby botanical gardens and eclectic restaurants. We are 1 1/15 hours to Tampa Airport and a 20 minute drive to Sarasota airport.

Other Activities: Shopping, Kayaking, Boating, Shelling, Parasailing, Wildlife Viewing, Spa, Basketball, Horseshoes, Mini Golf, Shuffleboard, Hot Air Ballooning

Golf: Sarasota has many fine golf courses and at reasonable prices.
