About Terri Pangborn
We are a retired military family. We were stationed in Fairbanks Alaska from 2005 to 2009. We were relocated by the military, but knew we wanted to return to Alaska for retirement. In 2011 we had the opportunity to return to Alaska. We waited for "just the right place" to become available, for us to start our retirement dream of owning/operating a vacation rental in Alaska. Moose Walk Cabin was exactly what our family was looking for. We absolutely love everything about Alaska. We look forward to making your stay in Alaska, no matter how long, a memorable experience.
Terri Pangborn purchased this Cabin in 2013
Why Terri Pangborn chose North Pole
We chose this property because of the location and the cabin. The private aurora views are amazing. We have moose all summer in our back yard and yet we are less than five minutes to town. We love the water access at our back door. We are able to canoe and fish any time during the summer. Mother nature turns our water into a winter wonderland. The icing on the cake is the amazing aurora viewing.
What makes this Cabin unique
This private waterfront property allows travelers to have all the comforts from home while in Alaska. The tranquility, aurora views from the cabin steps, and wildlife are amazing. The cabin's Alaskan theme and charm makes this home away from home a truly unforgettable place.

Amazing cabin retreat
This is a beautiful well maintained cabin. It has everything you could possibly need for your vacation. Cable TV, washer and dryer, bar b q, outdoor fire pit with well stocked fire wood for free. It also has an indoor fireplace with free wood. Comfortable beds and large livingroom windows to enjoy the great view. The cabin is secluded but yet only minutes from town. We had a great experience and would definently return.
Great place to stay and the hosts were fantastic.
We had a great time. We came mainly for fishing. The cabin was well stocked with coffee, utensils and firewood. Very clean and well kept, beds were very comfortable. It had everything the four of us needed. We were able to use the two canoes and the host even had fishing gear and advice for us. The host is a very knowledgeable guide and is willing to give advice. We had one encounter with a neighborhood vicious dog during a walk, but that could happen anywhere, after all it is a rather wild area. Nevertheless, I would carry mace if we walked it again. The cabin is nice enough to hang out at all day, but we ventured out. Lots of local fishing opportunities both in the river by the cabin or within a short drive. We mainly fly fished and caught grayling. Tried for trout and others, but no luck. The cabin Feels like you’re remote, but still close to the North Pole for supplies. Close enough to take a day trip to Denali and the scenery along that trip is excellent. I would stay again.
Great place to stay
Beautiful comfy cabin. Would stay again.
Gorgeous place to stay
First time to Alaska and this was a great location! Secluded cabin and great views of wildlife. Cabin was very clean and had a home feel, especially with the fireplace when it was cold. We had no issues. We have already started planning for our next vacation here. The owner was very nice and informative. She was very understanding and easy to talk to when we had to adjust our stay dates which we were very thankful for. Can’t wait to bring the family next time!
LIttle slice of paradise
Beautiful, well supplied cabin that has nearly everything you'd need to hide away for a couple nights or a month (I wish). We spent 4 nights there with 2 adults, 2 teenage boys and a 18 month old. We were never bored! The kitchen is very well equipped and we cooked quite often in it. The fully stocked coffee/drink station was such a nice touch that we utilized very frequently. The TV had tons of cable channels and there were hundreds of DVDs and board games. The furniture was all comfy and everyone slept well. One of our favorite things was sitting by the river and roasting marshmallows (wood is also supplied).
Despite staying up nearly all night, every night, we did not see the Aurora from the cabin, but the views were still stunning; with the river going from completely frozen to slowly flowing in the middle. No moose were seen from the cabin, but we did see one strolling down the street less than a mile away!
The cabin is not as far removed from town as I originally thought, but you still have the feeling of seclusion and privacy. And it turned out to be a good thing when I had to make a quick run into town for butter! Terry is right next door and was available if I had any questions or needs. We're already talking about coming back in the summer so the boys can do some fishing and we can enjoy the sights.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to return.
North Pole is known for it's beautiful northern lights displays. Our cabin is situated in an ideal location for aurora viewing. Picnicking, fishing (catch and release), cookouts, and canoeing are all available on the property. 5 miles brings you to the City of North Pole where Santa Claus House provides shopping in a toy and gift store and a visit with the reindeer. North Pole also has a post office, restaurants, grocery, video stores, churches, and medical offices. 10 mile trip to Chena Lakes Recreation Area brings the best of summer with beaches, paddle boats, sailboats and river access for canoeing in the summer and winter fun with cross country ski trails and sledding as well as dog mushing.
